Christmas gift-in-a-jar ideas

Thanks to everyone for some GREAT ideas! Yeah, they are the old blue jars, so I thought that would make the gift more special. I will have to make a decision and work on them this weekend. I love these boards!

Update from OP:

Thanks for the wonderful ideas! I made a double batch of the Alton Brown White Trash Snack Mix, which filled the 12 quart jars. It is delicious and looks great! Thanks again!

I make Christmas tea and put it in jars for Christmas gifts - you take 2 cups orange juice crystals (Tang), 2 cups Lemonade crystals (Country Time lemonade) and 1 powdered tea crystals then you mix the crystals all together and add 1 tsp ground cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves. Add the recipe on a tag outside the jar with the directions - Mix 2-3 teaspoons of the mix to a mug of hot water.

We usually fill little Christmas jars (mason jars with a bubble type lid that we buy at Walmart) and give them away to people we want to bless at Christmas.

This sounds delicious. What kind of powdered tea crystals do you use? Sweetened? Unsweetened?

I was going to suggest the granola! My MIL's recipe is wonderful, and very flexible: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Homemade-Cereal/Detail.aspx

THat's the recipe I use and my DH LOVES it!

I think I will try that next week for DH's coworkers!
