Christmas Gift Ideas... For Teachers

When my DD was in kindergarten, we stencilled sweatshirts for the teacher and the 2 aids. The design was a snowman, some trees and some stars. The sweatshirts were inexpensive, ane my DD helped a little. The teacher and the aids LOVED them, and wore them frequently throughout the winter season. We gave them their presents in early December, so they could wear them in December too.

When my DD was in 6th grade (multiple teachers) we gave them each $5 Starrbucks GC's, as all her teachers always went there.

it's so hard to know exactly what to do...esp since we have so many teachers, aides, specials, rel. ed teachers, scout leaders, dance teachers, etc!!
Last year, I went way overboard...but don't know what to do this year. Don't want to do anything homemade though....

When ds was in elementary school, I did the cookie in a jar, brownie in a jar, tea theme, cocoa theme, or popcorn theme or even candles for those who loved candles. Usually put in nice gift bag.

As a teacher, I like notecards, gc to Starbucks or sonic, etc. a bag of my favorite candy or cookies, or any of the above. I like things I can use, not more things to set around.

I truly believe teachers have one of THE most important jobs in our country, second to parents, and I think taking the time to find out what your child's teacher thinks of as an indulgence, and then treating him/her to that would be a fantastic gift. Gift cards are a fantastic way for them to splurge on what they love, think outside the normal superstores and personalize for their love of coffee, bakery treats, manicure, whatever your budget allows.

Have I mentioned how much I TEACHERS!! Thank you teachers for all you do for our children!

I think that the movie bucket idea is great!!! Along with Oprah and Ty, I agree teachers rock!!! I try to donate supplies and such throughout the year so I feel the holidays are for them!!!!

I recieved this little book one time and it was kind of like a catalog, where I could pick anything I wanted from it and it was shipped right to my house and I didn't have to pay anything. I was so excited I got something I really enjoyed because I picked it out.
