Lasy year I made a movie gift basket for dsil and her 3 kids (13, 15, 7). It included boxes of movie candy, popcorn, plastic movie popcorn boxes, and a 6 month subscription to Netflix. It was very economical as I didn't have to buy individual gifts that no one would use. I'm looking for another good idea for this year. Any thoughts?

A few ideas:

ice cream sundaes (a couple/few syrups, sprinkles, 4 sundae glass/cups, an ice cream scooper)

Do they have a Wii? If you look for a sale you could just do a combined family gift of a good 'family' wii game (toy storia mania is a good one)

A family membership to the local zoo??

Just guesstimating what you spent last year. . .how about a night away in a hotel? I'm a single mom with 3 kids and I would love that! You could pack a little bag with snacks and drinks too.

I spent $100 total. Not bad for 4 people... They are not the type to go anywhere, as they have many dogs and cats, and dsil owns a pet grooming business so she's always working. They are not really into board games, that's what I'm making for my family (mom, sis, bros) to keep at my moms house. I'm totally stumped. I really don't want to do a restaurant gift card either...

You could do a family game night basket. Include 1 or 2 boards games, snacks, and maybe a gift card for a pizza place.

Family Game Night - board games, pizza gift certificate, snacks

Winter Fun Basket - fleece throws, hot chocolate, snowman kit, mittens, hats, winter movies

Bath Time Fun - all sorts of fun bath products, new towels, body sprays, rubber duckies

Arts & Crafts - many possibilities with this one!

i learned to can this summer and i am making baskets with cakes baked ina jar, pomegranate and mimosa jellies, and scone mix in a jar as well.

Lets me go cheap AND express my Betty Crockerness.

:wizard: Credit for this goes to lovemygoofy :wizard: posted in a thread on the family board. She said she gives a gift certificate for a family portrait. I think thats a great idea, maybe one you could use too.

There are other ideas here too

Did they like last year's basket?

It all seems like things that are now gone. Why not do it again? IF they loved Netflicks they probably want it again! And who doesn't love yummy snacks too??? Maybe throw in a couple Theatre Tickets.

How about a Baking basket with cookies mix, muffin mix cake mixes etc add a cookie sheet cake pan and muffin pans this is what I am making for my DD and Grd.

How about breakfast in a basket? Real maple syrup. A waffle iron. Waffle mix. Special jams and preserves. Whipped butter. A bag of juice oranges. Pretty pitcher. An orange juicer but not the electric kind. A cd of relaxing music. Maybe make some special bread or muffins if you bake. Add pretty paper plates and napkins.

This is it!!!!!

I'll get a really nice 10 x 13 picture frame with a gift certificate to Picture People! Any ideas on other things (inexpensive) to put in the basket that would suit this theme. Even just the frame and certificate are great alone!

Thanks so much! This is what I will do! :cool1:

Last year I ordered Christmas gifts at giftbasketsoverseas.com. The service is extremely nice, good gift quality and there're also plenty of gift ideas on the website. The coolest thing is that there's a possibility to create your own custom gift basket with the items you want.
The similar website is goodchoiceflowers.com :thumbsup2

re: racingadventure com/]adventure gift race car

Collectibles and garage furniture are wonderful types of ways to give a present to someone, but they tend to be impersonal and not quite up to snuff Perhaps you could buy them a ride in a real NASCAR race car Many companies just like the Richard Petty driving experience offer ride along options that are very affordable In a NASCAR ride along, you can be bolted into the vehicle on the passenger side with a professional racing driver, during that race you go around the track up to 3 to 5 times If your guy likes roller coasters they will love this ride as a gift

I got a racingadventure com/]nascar gifts
