Is there a usual time when the Macy's parade and Grinchmas shows start? We couldn't fit it in last yr but are planning on it this yr.

I originally hoped to go the weekend before our WDW stay, which was Fri,Sat,Sun nites Nov 30,Dec1,Dec 2, but when I looked up last yrs calendar it didn't start until Sat.

Anyone know if this is the usual each yr? I will push my WDW up by a day and add UO/IOA for the second part for 3 or 4 nights over the second weekend. We plan on staying on site.

Thanks for the help.

You are probably safe with December 1 st. We go every year and it's always been the first Saturday in December. :thumbsup2

I just noticed you live real close to me, Boca.:thumbsup2

Thanks Bluer101-1st Sat in Dec is just what I needed to know!

Any opinion on if it is easy or hard to see both the parade and the concert from a decent spot on the same evening? Or a suggestion as to where the best spot is to view eachor both? Is it busy the first weekend?

Also-we live with our backyard on the hillsboro canal, so on the boca and palm bch county line but our business is in east boca! So hello neighbor!

As stated above, Grinchmas and Macy's Parade usually starts the first Saturday in December. As for the concert, I am assuming you mean Mannheim Steamroller.
Last year was the first year they played Saturday and Sunday the 1st 3 weekends in December. In 2010, it was only the 1st 3 Saturdays. In 2009, it was only the first Saturday. We need to wait to see what this year's schedule is or if they will even be there but I think they will be.

And no, there is no good place to see both the parade and the concert. I say this because the BEST place to see the parade is in front of the Macy's building where the tree is. There is a nice tree lighting ceremony and Santa's helpers dance routine that is only done there. However, if Mannheim Steamroller is playing 6 times like last year, the crowds for the concert should be low. I was there last year on the second Saturday and we all sat on the ground and watched. There wasn't any "stand up and get close to the stage" huge crowd stampede.

We always watch the parade down by the Macy store or across from the Mummy. Then we walk over by Monsters Cafe and watch from there. No need to be close with the 2 big screens.

We should be there same weekend this year. :thumbsup2
