Christmas event tickets

Does anyone know when the tickets for Disneyland's Christmas events go on sale? I know WDW's went on sale over the weekend but I can't seem to find an answer for this one!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can buy tickets for the Candlelight Procession. I think they are only given out to the bigwigs and their guests, though anyone can stand and see it.

For the last few years, they have offered Candlelight Dinner Packages. The packages go on sale about 6 weeks before Candlelight. Because there are only 4 performances, the packages go fast.

I'm new to the WDW way. Was recently reading on the Christmas events and was rather shocked at how they run theirs.

See, at DL, the Christmas parades, the snowfall on Main St, special fireworks shows are all free. (Yes, I know WDW offers some of that free as well). As far as I'm aware, there are no special events you really have to pay for. Maybe cookie decorating or a pic with Santa, but nothing major.

For Candlelight Processional, the tickets are given to CMs as this started as an event for CMs. They hold drawings for the tickets for CMs. Since this event has grown so much in the last few years (used to be only 1 showing on 1 night), there is more of a chance for guests to sit and see it.

Last year we were at DL and happened there were tons of people around the outside waiting to watch it. When we walked happened to walk near the entrance to the area to sit, we were asked if we wanted to sit and watch the show. This was about 5 minutes before it started, and they were trying to fill in all the extra seats. All the people standing didn't know they were giving filling in all the extra seats. We had a nice view.

They do have a Holiday tour, that usually starts in November and I think they start selling that about 60 days ahead of time. Other than that no special xmas party like at wdw.
