Can anyone recommend places to eat during Christmas week? We won't be going into the parks, but will be in the areaa from 12/23 - 12/26. I've been to Disney before, and have eaten in many of the Resorts, but I wasn't exactly sure what all would be open during the holidays. :confused3

Thanks in advance!!!

I can't think of any restaurants that would close. It's one of their biggest moneymaking days of the year. So you can probably assume that all restaurants will be open. I was there for Christmas in 2004 and I cannot recall any resort restaurants closing.

has the special options for Christmas dining this year.

I had no idea...I'm from the south...most EVERYTHING is closed on Holidays! :lmao:

We scheduled dinner on Christmas Eve at Ohana's (Polynesian Resort). If you plan it right, you can watch the Electrical Water Pageant and the fireworks over the castle from the beach.

If you are looking at Christmas week this year, I fear most everything is already booked solid. It is an extremelly busy time of the year.
Go to the Disney web site, under dining and try to book a reservation. If you put in a date and not limit it with any other options, it will show you what is still availble. It does resort restaurants as well as the theme park restaurants.

As previous post said, most have made adrs for that week at 180 days(including me), but we decided to arrive 12/25 and stay one night at Swan before our dvc vacation at AKLV so we made xmas night reservation at Il Mulino at Swan/Dolphin on thier websie just last week. we are eating at 8:30pm but had no problem getting a reservation thru thier website(not wdw reservations).

We made this plan for Christmas dinner!:santa::santa::santa:

Whispering Canyon Cafe! We ate there Christmas afternoon and it was lovely. The huge tree in the lobby really sets the mood and the spread is very Christmassy!:santa:

I would still try to do a walk in if you don't have ressies. I bet a lot of people have ressies and make last minute cancelations since its Christmas and their kids want to do other things. Never hurts to try!

I wasn't exactly sure what all would be open during the holidays.

1) ALL Disney parks, activities and eatreries are open 365 days.
2) Thus, open al all holidays.
3) Even Emma M. Nutt Day.
4) Only bothered by weather conditions or hurricanes.

If you find the places you want to be unavailable, keep checking. I saw a res. for 4 at 7:00 p.m. open up today at Rose & Crown on Christmas Eve - and grabbed it! But I've been checking throughout the day for weeks!

I have a reservation for Captain's Grille Christmas evening. I was disappointed to see they had a special Christmas dinner. I was looking forward to trying their regular menu. Does anyone know what is on the Christmas dinner menu? Is it a buffet or do you order off a menu? Can you order from the regular menu?

Thanks for the tips everyone...I snagged an ADR at O'Hana for Christmas Eve...Yay! :cool1:
