Hi There, I was wondering do you think the stuff that they are going to be doing at CA will affect any of the Christmas decorations? I have seen lots of photos from this past year and really want some photos of the different decorations they have up throughout the park. I spoke to a really nice CM yesterday and she said that they go out of their way to make sure when they are doing renovations that it is not notoicable to the public but was just curious as to what you all thought. Mainly concerned with decorations being up in full blast at both parks and It's A Small World Holiday and Haunted Mansion. I think since these are all things advertised they should happen, but guess was just curious as to others thoughts. Thanks a million.:goodvibes

Let me help out a little bit. :)

Another question is, how did the decorations in '07 compare to those in '06, and '05, etc. Do they change them up every year, or is it pretty traditional?

Thank you, hopefully some more people will come along that might know about this.:)

Since they have never done this LARGE of a re-model before it is very hard to guess what we will see in the future, but this is my opinion.

Haunted Manison Holiday-
Has been going strong since 2001, the first year this was done it was not expected to be a major draw and very little attention or advertising was made about the change, until guests saw it. The ride from what I was told by CM's at the time was running at Summer peak lines. They had never seen the lines like this at HM during the Holidays. This has continued to be a huge draw and honestly I can see no reason why they would change that for next year.

IASWH- The current reports are that IASW will be down for refurb. until November, but the plan is to bring it back ready for the holidays. As this has also become a fresh new draw for this old ride. (Especially in my opinion because it is FAR less annoying then the original and actually kind of fun with out the other song)

As to the decorations, they do change with every year, probably because decorations can't all be reused every year, some may get moved whatever. But honestly in some cases you would only notice if you compare pictures of two years (or go to the parks a lot :rolleyes1 ). Some decorations do change more noticeablly every year like the Tree at DL. 2006 was flocked, this years was not, they also use different ornaments. But they are always beautiful!!!

What will the decorations show in DCA? That I think depends on what they end up actually starting with, since the reports keep changing I will wait and see where the bulldozers start to make a actual call. But I think that DLR probably won't want guests to focus on the construction, so I doubt they will do away with the "holidays" in the park, more just work with what they have at the time.

It should be very interesting where DCA will be at the Holidays. But I can guarentee the parks will have their holiday spirit!!

PS I hope any of this answers your questions :)

Thank you for your help. I am hoping that most of the decorations will stay the same. I am really hoping the huge primary color ornament balls on the way into Bug's Land stay up at CA adventure, I just love them, I love the colorful stuff that DL and CA seem to have a lot of bright and colorful stuff around, so can't wait!! The tree in Toontown looks great and hoping it stays the same. If anyone else has any advice or suggestions, that is great. Thanks a million.:goodvibes

Just thought I would bump this up again and see if anyone else had any more suggestions, the tree in Toontown and the decorations at CA, like the huge primary color ornaments on the way to Bug's Land, have they pretty much stayed the same over the past couple of years??Thanks.:goodvibes

Yes they have stayed the same but don't have any expectations for DCA since that whole park is up in the air. I would say expect to have a great holiday the Disney way!!!

But I doubt Bug's Life area will be touched by the end of this year so should be the same.

I have been specifically hoping that the new castle lights will return. I wonder what are the chances they will use them again since they did put so much effort into them this year?

If your talking about the icicles lights, I am really hoping that they keep them for years to come, they were so beautiful and I am sure hoping to see them in December.:goodvibes
