I know this is really early but what would you suggest for Christmas Dinner?

Thanks in advance

Michelle

A couple of Christmases ago we had Christmas Eve dinner at the Swan and it was very good -- a seafood buffet, I believe. Pluto and Goofy were there, too. :teeth:

Mikki-seems like there will be a lot of people there for Xmas. I will be there staying at AKL so Boma will be Xmas or eve. Probably will do Candlelight Processional the other night--maybe Le Cellier.

Maybe we'll see you there!

Wendy,

What are your dates? I tried to get into SOG but they said they've been booked since January. She said to call a month before going for cancellations which is what I'll be doing.

I just made reservations for Hoop de Doo for Christmas dinner. He said they had alot of openings for the 7:15pm show and that would give me a better chance of getting a table up front. I'll keep this unless I have a better idea.

How long have you lived in Davie? I grew up pretty close to there.

Mikki,

We're also going at Christmastime but didn't want SoG because of the mandatory package that makes it just as expensive as onsite deluxes. Did SoG mention a waiting list or overflow rates?

I think Hoop Dee Doo on Christmas sounds great. We did that show last trip. (This time we're seeing the Luau at the Poly.) On Christmas day we're starting at MK at opening with a late bkft at Chef Mickey's then doing the Candlelight Proc with LesChefs de France that night.

SOG never mentioned a mandatory package. What is that?

She gave me the overflow rates for the other hotels but the only one we could fit into (there are 5 of us) was the Contemporary and that was still high for us. She told us about Hotel Royal Plaza which is right across the street from Downtown Disney, still on Disney property but not a Disney hotel. There was no mention of a waiting list, maybe I'll call back and see.

We plan on going to MK first thing Christmas morning too. How early are you going to get there to get in?

You made reservations for the Candlelight Proc. already? Maybe I'll look into that and do Hoop de Doo another night.

We did Boma's for Christmas one year and loved it. Although we love it anytime we eat there ;) .

We will be doing Hoop-De-Doo on Christmas Eve. Christmas morning we will be having a late breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. For Christmas dinner it will be Artist Point.

After 10 years of active duty in the Navy, I've stopped asking for SOG or Hale Koa for that matter because I was always too late to get the days I wanted. I am a reservist now so I don't even think of it. I did notice a 40% discount for active military for hotels, but don't remember the details (it was on this site).

Don't have PS yet because it's 90 days in advance and that's September. But those are my plans. 12/23 Fantasmic 12/24 EPCOT and 12/25 Boma. Elderly parents may not want to walk as much...We are in AKL because my mom wants to see the animals!

Mikki I'm in Davie 4 years now, used to be stationed in DC and lived in Fairfax.

Hoop de Doo for Thanksgiving several years ago was awesome, and we had our ressies for 6+months. It was after 9/11 and they actually cancelled one of the seatings because of lack of interest, but we still had front row seats. Kids loved it!
