DD17 and I are spending Christmas at Universal. We have never been away from home at Christmas so the whole concept of Christmas Day at a theme park is a new adventure for us.

We are staying at Hard Rock, arriving late in the the day on the 23rd and departing on the 26th. We will do early entry on the 24th and 25th. My only question at this point is where to have Christmas dinner?

I looked at The Palm but the filets are running $40ish without sides and is a bit much for me. I appreciate any suggestions - Can be on or off resort area, preferably under $100.

Thanks!

My vote would be for the Kitchen as well, especially with you staying there in the hotel. :goodvibes

Thanks for the advice. I checked out the website and the menu appears similar to the Palm - just not so pricey. :thumbsup2

Is it as important to may reservations at Universal as it is on Disney property?

:sad2: But I usually do anyway. Try calling 6 months out, they act like you are possessed! LOL

We just returned from a thanksgiving trip, also staying at the HRH. We considered doing the buffet at the kitchen, but it would have been almost $200 with tax and tip for the four of us.

The pregvious day, we were walking around City Walk, and at the dining information booth, they had menus for all of the restaurants. We decided to go to Pastamore for their Thanksgiving special. For $18.95 pp, we had a choice of soup or salad and choice of pies for dessert. The entree was a full Thanksgiving meal, which included white and dark turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green beans, candied sweet potatoes, and cranberry sauce. There was so much food, my teenage son couldn't finish. It was well worth the price.

I'm sure that they will do something similar for Christmas.

We've stayed at the HRH a few years during the holiday...last year we had christmas eve dinner at Mama Della's at the PBH. This year I am going to try to make a reservation at Mythos for the end of the day, I believe they stay open later than the park. I figured after dinner itmight be kind of a neat walk with a different perspective with the park being closed.:)
