Deciding where to go for dinner on Christmas Or Christmas Eve. What would you pick? We have 5 adults and a 2 and 4 year old. The only new place for us would be The Cake Bake. We don’t have park tickets this trip. We’re staying at AKL.

Boy this is a tough one.
I would narrow the choices down to a tried and true: CG and the new kid in town: CBS.

Have fun making up your minds.

Where are you staying? Not having to take transportation would heavily weigh into my decision.

Edit sorry didn’t see AKL. I would not go all the way to MK area with traffic. I would stay at AKL that day but of the choices I would do the skyliner crawl.

I completely agree. I would stay at the resort and eat at Jiko. If you really want to brave the traffic, I would do Cake Bake.

Oh my, the Cake Bake Shop is bound to be decorated to the nines, so if I didn’t want to eat at Jiko or Boma, that’s where I’d go. But I agree, traffic will be a bear. What is your transportation method? If relying on Disney, I’d take the AKL bus to the Studios followed by Skyliner (to Epcot IG) or Friendship Boat (to Boardwalk) to CBS. And allow lots of time for the journey.

You could go to AK and get the Boardwalk or Beach Club bus.,

2 and 4 year olds, thus easily the character meal. That’s uniquely Disney. Just kind of annoying to get to from AKL
Not too difficult to get from AKL to WL for Storybook Dining. Just bus to MK and boat to WL. The boat is part of the fun!

OTOH, World Drive to MK is the most likely roadway to be congested at Christmas time. I can’t remember - do the buses have their own lanes there, like they do on Buena Vista near DS?

Some of the road lanes are dedicated but others not. Not sure about Christmas Day and Eve travel conditions because we normally travel via monorail or walk on those days.

It’s just annoying to have to go through security twice when not even going to the park! especially since they will likely have a stroller and then the boat to fort wilderness could be the small one where you have to again fold up the stroller. So in all the round trip could cause the stroller to have to be opened and closed four times and going through security twice at magic kingdom on Christmas so it will be busy. Then the trip back to the hotel could be packed at fort wilderness

As long as you don’t go to Disney springs. It’s not that bad traffic wise and even on the buses once you in

Not sure what you mean but we only visit DS on NYE. The traffic is off the wall but it still beats being in the parks. We like an enjoyable meal, fireworks, music and general merriment without too many people - which we could always find at home and explains why we are not there, lol.

I mean the traffic at Disney springs is horrible. The parking garages and everyone leaving at once is difficult plus it’s mostly locals who drive there on NYE. It gets even more packed I’m sure than the parks. Only MK and Epcot get really packed and in certain areas. The same number of people are also staying at the hotels on Disney as usual

I forgot to add. Even though it is a tad annoying I would still recommend storybook because of the ages. I see that Narcoosees is winning but getting there from the AKL is just as annoying except if you take the monorail you won’t have to fold up stroller but still you might not have to fold it up going to WL either if you get right boat.

They also have 1900 Parkfare but you can’t see the fireworks but if either of the kids are girls they would like that a lotttttt more, the food at parkfare is also pretty good, I think it is one of the better prime ribs at a Disney buffet.

Also the grand will be absolutely packed that night

WL. Classic Xmas done to epic proportions, wonderful excuse to really soak it in by dining there.

From there you could take a boat to CR or MK and pick a spot to watch fireworks from the monorail resort areas.
