Tried a search but no luck.

Could you DL experts tell me when hotel and park Christmas decorations usually go up?

And are there any special holiday traditions at DL that we should know about and when are those scheduled?

TIA! :thumbsup2

The Christmas decorations usually go up in the hotels and park in mid-November. I'm not sure of any special holiday traditions. Keep in mind that NO WHERE in the park will you see a "Merry Christmas." It's sad how Christ is being taken out of the celebration of Christmas, but that's another topic. :sad2:

Last year we arrived on Nov 08th and there were loads of decorations up, but Small World and the Haunted House didn't open with full decorations until Nov 11.

Thank you both. I didn't realize there were also decorations on the attractions!

So there isn't anything like the Candlelight Processional at WDW?

Hi BCV23,

Decorations do go up throughout the park early to mid November. We also have a candlelight processional usually the first weekend or second weekend of Dec. I always seem to wander into the park when the event is taking place, so rarely recall exactly the date it happens on.

For reference, I've included links to a few of my pictures from this last holiday season (didn't want to eat too much bandwidth).
Sorry I didn't have as many as I thought...guess I have a project this winter!

I was in DL Nov.3-9/04 and the Christmas decorations were up then. My Christmas tree is a 'Mickey Only' tree and Disney decorations are hard to come by where I live. Needless to say I was in heaven when I came across all the Mickey decorations to buy in DL(I had to get a bigger tree). I remember that after the nightly fireworks they played 'White Christmas' and it snowed down Mainstreet. It was so magical.

Thank you both too.

Cool pictures, Janomi.

I hope we make it back out there to see it in person! :cool1:

my favorite was the decorations on the houses on the Storybook Land boats..

The minature lights and snow and everything. it was amazing!

I have yet to see the tree as we go after christmas and the tree is already down. But this year we are going for one day on Dec 18th. SO I'll get to see the tree. is it in the main plaza by the train?

I completely forgot about taking pictures on that ride! Thanks for reminding me Rapunsel. Glad to hear that you'll be able to see the tree this year. And yes, it is in the main plaza at the edge of Main Street. Trust me, you won't be able to miss it as you walk through the arches :)
