Christmas decorations worth seeing?

The decorations are nice all over WDW, but I'll agree that they are not quite as special as they used to be. The Osbourn lights at the studios is probably the best for the WOW factor.

Couldn't agree more!!!!!:wizard:

When did this start :confused3
We were there in 2009 from November 11-17 and the the big tree at MK was up then. I am actually looking at a picture of our family in front of it right now. Did they start that in 2010 or 2011??? It was definitely up we we went in 2011 since we didn't go until mid December :rotfl:

A few years ago. They used to put it up and move it for the parade taping, then move it back. They stopped doing that though and now just put it up after the parade taping weekend.

The big tree in MK is not put up until after the Christmas parade taping in December.

This is not accurate... we have been there the past 3 years (09, 10 and 11) and the tree was up... :goodvibes

It was up before the parade taping in 2011 too. We were there the Thursday before they taped, and it was there. So was Cee Lo! :) :goodvibes

Ok I stand corrected. I got that from a very reliable poster on the Theme Parks board. I've seen him state that numerous times in the past few years. I've only been post parade taping myself.

I just searched and here's a thread from last month that says the same.

Obviously some one is wrong or people are talking about two different things.

I have been many times during Christmas decoration time in Nov. and the decorations are beautiful. But never in Dec until last year. I was hoping for a lot more than I saw in Nov in years past and think I had really high hopes. I was not exactly disappointed but underwelmed until GF. We walked in and my DS said to me.........Are you happy now!! and I was! It was beautiful. I was blown away. BTW I had seen Osborne Lights many times before this trip and I knew how special they were. I was just expecting more as it got closer to Christmas. I don't know I guess I thought the closer you got to Christmas the more they decorated. I guess that means that if you go in Nov you are still gonna get the same memories as you get in Dec!

Hopefully I will be just as blown away as you were when you first entered the lobby. I also hear that they roast chestnuts as well so the smell alone will probably be inviting. I am totally looking forward to staying at the GF now. :thumbsup2 Eight nights at the Gf is going to be awesome.

Oh I have no doubt there is lots of information out there. I apologize, I didn't mean to correct you.. reading what I wrote it did sound harsh, and I am SO SORRY! I really didn't mean it the way it probably reads.. was just stating my experience. Hope I didn't offend you, if I did, I apologize. pixiedust:

Not offended. I don't like to give bad info, that's why I went and looked it up. Can't explain it either!
