Christmas Decorations Question

I booked our trip for November 5-12, thinking we'd see some of the Christmas decorations. I saw today that they are going up on the 12th, which is the day we leave and were not planning on that being a park day. Do they gradually decorate during the week leading up to the official Christmas season, or would the decorations just spring up over night? I'm considering switching one of my reservations to the 12th since our flight isn't until 7pm. I'd just have to figure out which day to change and hope there is still availability.

Some of it comes up right after Halloween. The 12th is the "grand reveal" of the last few things typically.

The decorations themselves creep up over a period of weeks (the castle is in full snow-effect before Halloween), but the actual Christmas offerings - special foods, parade, etc. - typically start on official opening day.

Having said that, given the extended time off, I wouldn't be too surprised to see some soft openings on the 11th. Probably at least some of the Festival of Holiday food booths will be running, because they often start up a day or two early...

That period will have a bit of both seasons. Usually the It’s a Small World overlay reopening will be on that Christmas season starting day. Each day you will see added items. Even the Christmas tree will appear overnight. All will be ready for November 12.

I totally forgot Small World would be down for the overlay. Even a better reason to make sure I go on the 12th Thanks!

In 2019 I was in DL 2 days after Halloween. We were there for 5 days. By the time we left we were taking photos in front of the large Christmas tree on Main Street. So the go up almost immediately after Halloween.
