Hi,

We are hoping to travel back to Fort Wilderness around November 12-18? Do you guys know if there will be Christmas decorations up in the fort or in parks then? We will be in a tent.... I've read that temperatures are okay in November...is that right? How are crowds that time of year?

Thanks!

They usually go up a little later, closer to Thanksgiving, and as usual with Disney Magic it is all done "almost" overnight. Crowds should be very tolerable that week.

We were there in Nov. and Dec. Disney does not put up Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving. It is great to see one day it’s all thanksgiving you go to bed next day it is all Christmas

Not too sure that this is totally accurate. We arrived 2 days after Thanksgiving last year and everything was totally decorated. We were told that most of it had been put up a few days before Thanksgiving.

Additionally, MK is decorated for Christmas before the start of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and I know the first date for that this year is prior to 13 November.

I just saw the dates for Mickey's Christmas party and it starts on November 8. Wouldn't they have decorations up for that? I think we will probably have to take our chances on mid November and hope for the best. I'm hoping the crowds will be good.

Thanks a lot for the info. I can always depend on this board to help me make all my plans. :cheer2:

We were there Nov 1-20 last year. MK was all decked out in time for the first MVMCP on 11/10. Ditto HS because Osborne started 11/10 also - however that's earlier than the year before when it didn't start until the Friday after Thanksgiving. No word yet on this year's schedule.

AK and EP went up about a week after MK & HS which meant all the parks were pretty much decorated by about 11/15ish. DTD was all decorated pretty early in Nov. too.

Not much at all in the resorts when we left 11/20 (nothing at the Fort except for campers). From what I've read the remaining resort decorations went up the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Just keep in mind that this stuff isn't set in stone, so your mileage may vary. ;)

almost forgot, re: temps/crowds...

November is typically pretty dry, but temps can be all over the place. We've had days anywhere from 60s-low 80s and evenings from 50s down to 30s. Key is "layers"

Crowds the 3 weeks before Thanksgiving week were really nice last year. We didn't wait more than 20 minutes for anything most days. The full week before Thanksgiving week was AWESOME. We walked into EP one afternoon at around 2 and Soarin had a 5 minute wait! That was the same week that we rode TSM 4 times in one day - only once with FP and never with more than a 30 min wait.

If we did decide to go after Thanksgiving... has anyone ever been the week after? We would leave on the 28th and stay that week. How are crowds then?

Yup - been then too. In fact the 2-3 weeks after Thanksgiving were our "go to" weeks for several years until last year (see sig). It's still a really nice time to go - ALL Christmas festivities are in full swing - but it gets a bit busier each year. Still far from super busy, but in comparison to November last year, after Thanksgiving was definitely a little more crowded.

Weather is similar - dry, temps all over the place.

I went two years in second week of November and docorations were up. We also attend Mickey's Christmas party and had a blast. My guess with the Christmas season getting earlier and earlier each year, the parks should be mostly decorated including MK.

:santa:

We went that week several years ago. Most of the decorations were up and we watched them put the rest of them up during the week.
