Christmas decorations down yet?

We used to take everything down after January 6. Now many times, first chance we get after New Years.

Thinking of this thread while reading a Facebook post from a Fraternity Brother of mine (who is a retired Pastor) that TODAY is only the 4th day of Christmas. 8 more days to go!

We put ours all away yesterday and announced to the outdoors that we are ready for summer.

Unfortunately, we currently live close to the Canadian border so we are a FAR way from summer lol.

We live close to the Canadian border too, and today we are having a whiteout blizzard with lots of snow! I'm ready for summer too:)

Just finished taking the tree down. Took 4 1/2 hours. Took the rest of the decorations down yesterday in 5 hours. I'm beat. Still need to clean all the tree droppings, etc.

I'm the only one in teh office and it is dead quiet, so I have been taking down our department's decorations - I am not sure where they are stored though.

I'd store them in the office/cubicle of someone you don't like.... but that's just me

I do jsut kind of want them gone. Nobody's going to be here for a while since they are going to semi-shut us down again, but I don't want to come in in March and see them!

Indoor decorations were taken down today, although we do decorate for each season, so we have some winter decorations up which includes some of the stuff we had up for Christmas.

Outdoor decorations are coming down tomorrow

I'm getting ready to head south for several weeks so I don't think mine will get totally taken down until sometime in February.

OK, so now that the Epiphany and Orthodox Christmas are past, everything came down today, as is our custom. I'm a little sorry to see the warmth and cheer of the colourful lights go but instantly my home seems more spacious and tidier, and that's refreshing. :goodvibes

My kids want general decor to stay up as loooooong as possible. Early Feb marks a birthday; so, I usually start transitioning the decorations around mid-Jan.

Only thing still in the house is the tree, just needs to be rolled out to the garage. Getting the rolling base with attached storage bag so the tree stays upright is one of the best things ever. Of course the only reason it is not in the garage is husband still has all the outside stuff all over and not out of the way yet. Weather in the pacific northwest has been terrible so it has caused some delays getting it all sorted.

Feeling the same way! My house feels bigger, but I’m missing the warmth from the lights & decorations. Going to put up some Valentine’s decorations tomorrow (including red lights) to help ease the transition (my youngest was born on Valentine’s, so we do it to make it a little special for her).

I usually take everything down New Years Eve weekend. This year I worked most of that weekend, so I started on it yesterday. I got pretty much everything down and ready to pack away. But, I got a cricut for Christmas and decided to make labels for the bins as a bit of Beginners Practice, so that slowed me down a little bit. I'll wrap it all up today. I kinda wish I had a few "winter" decor pieces because now the house feels bland/empty. lol

Did most of the indoor things yesterday. Dh and a couple of our kids did the outdoor items earlier this week.

Want to organize some of the tree ornaments today and then I'll be done.

Put Mardi Gras wreath and flags up outside last night. And waiting on a couple of banners on Amazon
