We are going to Disney the week of Nov 10 until Nov 17. Are the parks decorated for Christmas that early?
Thanks. JJLJ
Yes JJLJ, I believe they are. I just checked the WDW website, but they do not have the calander of events for any dates after Sept yet. But, I recall from last year when I was planning our trip in December that they did start the Christmas festivities around the time of your trip.
You could try calling the WDW number and ask the operators. They should have a pretty good idea of when the themes change. I know the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party started in Novmeber last year, but the date aludes me. It is a great time of year to go though. Much less crowded, great weather and the decorations are lovely. The huge Christmas trees at the entrance to each park are gorgeous!! Prepare to take lots of pictures.
Just a suggestion for if you buy Christmas decorations. The Christmas store in DTD is huge and they have wonderful items and you can get things personalized as well. We went later than you are going ( Dec 9th to 15th), but apparently the wait had started several weeks earlier. I tried to get things personalized and then sent to our room for the next day and there was no way they could do it. The earliest anything personalized would be ready was Dec 23rd and if you wanted to ship to your room it cost quite a bit! I was so upset because I had really wanted to have my DDs name put on a Cinderella decoration, among other things. I bought the ornament anyway, but did not get her name on it.
The next day, our last full day, we went to MK. There is a smaller Christmas shop there and they do personalizing to. I asked at three in the afternoon how long the wait was, figuring it was about the same at DTD. They told me two hours max and I could pick it up!!! I almost cried. I had to buy another Cinderella ornament, but it was worth it. SO, the moral of this long winded story is shop for personalized items at the Christmas shop in MK.
Have a wonderful time!!!
