Hi! We are on the 12/26 sailing abs wondering if the Christmas decorations are still up? I know it isn’t very merry time, but will be so happy to see the tree if possible. I know the parks are first week of January.
Thank you!

Typically the Christmas decorations are up through the cruise that sails over New Year's Eve.

I've sailed two New Year's cruises, and yes, the Christmas decorations are still up on the ship and on Castaway Cay throughout those cruises. They take the decorations down on debarkation day- If you don't leave early that final morning, you might be treated to the sound of them tearing down the gingerbread house in the atrium. We got to witness that once when disembarking after our second seating breakfast.

Oh! I’m so excited. I lecture walking into the atrium on my first very merry time. What is New Year’s Eve like?

They have a New Year's party with fireworks at midnight, which in the past at least, was separate from the Pirate Night party & fireworks (so yes, two fireworks shows on one cruise, even on a 3-night cruise). I don't know if they'll continue with that tradition post-Covid. The characters dress in swanky New Year's Eve clothes that evening. Nice to be able to attend a fun New Year's party with fireworks without having to deal with driving through gridlock, parking, etc. You just walk back to your stateroom when you get tired. It is a special way to ring in the New Year, especially when you dock at a tropical island the next day.

We did the Dec 26 cruise on the Magic in 2019 (and we are on the 26th Fantasy this year too!). There was definitely still Christmas decor around, but I don't think there were any Christmas related events, but then again we weren't looking for them. We intentionally booked the only 'unMerry' option we could get :)

Looking back at my pictures from the Magic, there were wreaths and garlands in the lobby/atrium areas and shopping areas, and I remember there being a big Gingerbread house by the guest services desk. Not a lot of decor on Castaway but a little here and there.
