Hi,

I am from th UK and we are visiting WDW for the first time in December, we are staying in the All Star Movies for 3 weeks and are really excited. My children, aged 6 and 4 can't wait.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

My question is what to do about food on Christmas Day. We wanted to go somewhere where we could maybe dress a bit smarter and feel a bit special without breaking the bank.

Any ideas?

Any thoughts would be most welcomed.

Kind regards:wave:

We'll be spending Christmas there too at POP!! We are going to the candlelight processional and eating at Rose & Crown. any showcase restaurant will be special. If you would like to try something out of the parks the Cape May buffet is neat. So is Ohana, Boma and your kids would love Chef M's or Park Fair. People like the California Grill but I have never tried it. Call soon because ps' will be taken for Christmas Day. You can take a sleigh ride at Wl for 30$. You'll have a great time!!:bounce:

We will be there and enjoying a late lunch at LeCellier then dinner at one of the counter service somewhere around the world. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
Can't wait to finally wake up Christmas morning at Disney.

I would suggest calling the Dining Reservation line as soon as possible and just see what is available. Most of the restaurants are resort attire. THe closer it gets the less choices you will have as to what is available.

I can suggest:
Yachtsmans Steakhouse
California Grill
Citricos
Artist Point
Flying Fish

The Swan and Dolphin have wonderful Christmas dining options..check them out at swandolphin.com

I would book ASAP. I called to change our Christmas Day PS about 10 days ago and there was extremely limited availability. My first choice (Artists Point) was a sell out.

We have now changed our original booking (Yachtsmans Steakhouse) to the California Grill. CM told me I had one of the last PSs she had available.

So now, our Christmas Day itinerary is:

Breakfast: Cinderellas Royal Table
Lunch: Offsite
Dinner: California Grill

I would take a look at Jiko, Citricos or Flying Fish as these are all fantastic spots that you can "dress up" a bit for.

I would call very, very soon and get ready a list of places and be flexible on your times. Unless you are a very small party, then you may not be lucky with your first choice.

Good luck, and I hope you get somewhere nice!

Last time I was at WDW for christmas day we had our christmas dinner in the castle (CRT) and the children loved it as it's the symbol for MK and they felt so special. We are returning again this year(although unfortunately not for xmas day) and they have asked to eat in the castle again. I don't know how much has changed but last time we just turned up at CRT in the morning and were able to get PS for lunch no problem. Good luck with whatever you decide:)

Hi Guys,

Thanks so very much for all your suggestions, you've been a great help.

We've only just booked our holiday so everything is a bit last minute i'm afraid. I've been printing off all the reviews for the restaurants (no mean feat I can tell you) and i'm wading through them as quick as I can to try and get the low down on the best and worst so we know where we can try and where we should stay away from.

I shall be trying to make my reservations this weekend but I reckon that some of the meals we will just have to turn up to to see if there is a space.:(

Thanks again for all your help guys!:teeth:

Best wishes

If you will be there during Christmas week, make as many priority seatings for meals as you can! There will be very limited availbility left, even now, and many restaurants will be completely sold out !!
I have been to WDW during Christmas week and the restaurants rarely have room for walk ins. Don't "wait and see" You will be disappointed ! Christmas week is the busiest week of the year at WDW. Start making plans.

Good Luck!:D

All the info you are receiving is great! DD is a seasonal CM(CP-college program- in 2001, then became seasonal, and keeping with it she says forever-she's a senior in college now), and we had the opportunity while she was on the CP to visit her during Christmas....had dinner in Epcot - Italy's Orig. Alfredo's - it was wonderful. All of the restaurants have children's menu's, and at that time of the year...everywhere you go is even more "magical" !!!! The tree's in all of the hotels and restaurants, not to mention the streets of the parks, are beautiful. Wherever you wind up eating.....have a wonderfully magical Christmas!!!!!
