Christmas Day Parade taping for TV

Anyone ever been at Magic Kingdom when they are taping this? We are spending extra days after our cruise and it falls on the weekend they normally tape the parade for tv. Just wondering how crazy busy it will be and if we should AVOID MK until evening.

I wouldn't let it affect my schedule. Only Main Street and the Hub are busy--the rest of the park is pretty normal.

We were there on the Friday of taping this year and it wasn't too bad. They did have the hub and parts of the castle area blocked off and that area was really crowded with CMs/family/friends that are spectactors for the taping. The rest of the park wasn't bad at all.

I've been on parade taping day and it was so packed.

It wasn't just the Hub or Main Street, either, although those were the worst. There were just so many extra people in the park hoping to watch the parade during the day without having to buy a party ticket that the lines were outrageous for most of the big-name attractions.

Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't go to the MK on taping day unless I had no other choice or if I had somebody in my party that had never seen the parade and wouldn't get another chance.
