Christmas day festivities?

Hi everyone,
I have been reading everywhere about how crazy it is on Christmas Day at the parks and how there are swarms of people but I was wondering other than the ticket events such as Mickey's Christmas party, what goes on at the parks on Christmas day? Are there special events that happen on the actually day unlike the week before?
We are trying to decide if we will stay at the hotel that day or if we will miss something by not being there.Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

We have been to the world several times over Christmas. We love it due to the decorations and the special time of the year. We have never seen anything on Christmas day itself that did not happen the day before or after except to the large crowds. We have decided never to go between Dec. 20 to Jan 1st. ever again due to the large crowds.

I would recommend staying at the hotel or go to MGM or AK
