(Christmas Day) Are you going anywhere or doing anything?

Marycaym, Is anything open in NYC on Christmas day? Like the stores, etc?

TIA

Not alot of the big stores, Macys, etc. were open but some of the smaller stores were, I know for sure the Apple store was open because the kids spent some time looking in there. It was a nice day, and crowds were minimal.

We stay at home in the morning and I bake quiche and monkey bread and then for dinner we go the the Grand Floridian to see the Gingerbread House and eat with Cinderella. We just started this 2 years ago to give me a break from all the holiday baking and cooking. It's really fun and we get to do the home thing and the Disney thing.

I think I'm going to come and visit you on Christmas. That sounds like a WONDERFUL day! :lovestruc

I will be sleeping most of the day - working 7p - 7:30am Christmas Eve.....maybe will be pick up Christmas Day if needed..

we're Jewish, so Christmas Day is basically just another day for us. We're considering heading in to NYC to skate at the Central Park rink (if it is open). Otherwise, we'll probably go to the movies. :)

Don't forget the Chinese Food - we always had Chinese food and went to the movies on Christmas Day when I was a kid!!!

One of my favorite Christmases from my childhood was when we went to the movies.
Every christmas eve we have a tradition that we eat our favorite foods. you know things to expensive or rich to eat more often or just our favorites...always a unique gathering of food with kids......one time my son wanted fruit loops, so we had fruitloops at our meal. If all you want is chocolate, then go for it.
Two years ago, we did virtually nothing for Christmas day. We opened gifts slowly over the entire morning, ate our traditional homemade waffles with strawberries and whipcream, bacon and Orange juice. Then we stayed in our PJ's watched movies most of the day, only to stop to munch on favorite foods, play with toys and nap.
It was such a great day. Going to try to duplicate it again this year.
I get so stressed over the holidays, I work with at risk kids so I try to not only do christmas for my family, but to make it a little special for lots of other families.....Gets to be just a lot of work, but worth it in the end. I just need Christmas DAY to be quiet since the 24 days leading up to it are so busy

I need 800 miles flown on USAir to hit Gold Preferred this year. So I'll be spending part of Christmas Day flying to Philly, hanging out in the airport for a bit, and then flying back home. Christmas Day itself is usually an inexpensive day to fly. It's the days around it that are expensive.

I think we have decided on breakfast at IHOP and a movie like everyone else. :3dglasses
