Grim(I think you are a teacher??)

Grim pirate: would rather DIE than get up in front of a group of people (kids or adults) and speak about anything! He sits at his desk in his cubicle and rarely has to talk face to face with anyone at work! He's a software engineer. :teeth:

That just made me giggle!

::MinnieMo Dede princess:

Grim: I so knew you were a techno geek, oops I mean guy pirate: :rotfl2:

I've mentioned that I do accounting for start-ups, mostly I like and do software start-ups. Love the environment, love working with software engineers, so witty and understated sense of humor. Of course I've married an attorney, so very different from engineer guy. Fun to work with engineers not date or marry them. I'd have to be a teacher, not a bean counter and that just would never be me, too hard to do that job... Does that sound right? Of course it does you can all read my mind right. :confused3 Should I mention that I'm a bit loopy, back to school night, after a mom friend and I headed to Chillies for a :drinking1 first a strawberry magarita, never knew that they used sugar on the rim....yum, then a long island ice tea...buuzzzzz I should get to bed now, totally zonked out.

love the dresses too, wish I could fit into the small ones, they look so beautiful.

Off to bed,

Nan

Aurora's #1 Fan, (May I call you Aurora, please oh please princess: )
I call her that every day!!! Actually, we call her "Queenie" or "Amadala" (from Star Wars). She forgot to sign her name after she posted. but hey, she's posting. It's more than I can say for Dominick - you lurker you.

We are almost in double digits!!!!! Woo hoo.

I can't wait to see the ship all decorated and sing carols in the lobby. I have seen some of the pictures of the ship all decked out. Kayla doesn't want to see anything, she wants to be totally surprised. My feeling is seeing it in person and looking at pictures are very different!!

Someone posted the dimensions (sp?) of the cabin doors for anyone interested. I don't know how to post a link to a thread, sorry. I need my techno geek, Dominick to help me. And since I'm at work ....

Heyy everyone! How are we all doing this fine morning!? Just checking in to see whats going on!? I am waiting to leave for the dentist office because I have to go get X-Rays because I am gettin my braces off soon! September 27th to be exact...and if you wanna get into even more detail I have the time! But we won't go there. hehe I am so excited I will get my braces off before the cruise! I have gone two cruises with braces! ugghh! And finally I will have a great smile for the family pictures we take on formal night! Speaking of formal night I have a picture of my dress on my cell phone but I am not too sure how to get it on here...besides it's a very small pictire....Well I am going to Say Goodbye to all of ya! I will be back later to check in more! Keep the thread going strong everyone!:flower:

 Hello Christmas Cruisers!

one more crazy day at work and all should slow down for me by tomorrow---I'll be -a-lurkin :moped:

Yay for you Tori!

A special day for you I bet ::yes::

To get a photo off your phone you need internet/email access

If you do not subscribe to that service your photo is stuck in your phone :(

If you do subscribe you should be able to send it anywhere---

I know how to send the pictures to e-mail becauase I do that from my phone to put them on my myspace but how would I get it on the website here?

Once you have it on your myspace

Copy the properties of it
Paste the prop onto a reply here
add "" at the front
add "" at the back and post.

~Once any photo is hosted online it can be posted this same way~

Download it to my pictures on your computer, open a photobucket account, use the img choice & post it to here.

How's this for lounging around the ship during the day, or even walking around in the ports?

School started today for Jesse, a good day. He was happy to see his friends. I have him in bed early, 9:30 pm tonight, because he has a hard time getting up in the morning without a good long sleep. I think he's out like a light already.
Chad is already breezing through his courses. He LOVES his curriculum/major. He goes to St. Francis College, which is right across the street from the NY supreme court building, so I'm hoping he makes a few connections to get an intern job. One of his profs is a nun who is also an attorney, so I told Chad to sweeten her up a bit, use the ole cham, and she'll help him get a good intern position with a good judge. I know, my bad. He wants to sit in on the Gotti Jr. case, so I told him why not, it'll be a good experience to see how the system works, and the building is across the street. I think he's changing his mind from wanting Prez Bushes job to Koffi Annan's job. Kids with dreams are a delight. They may change their minds several times over, but their enthusiasm is always so high.

Tig, I wanted to pass the message onto Brittany that I passed by CBGB over the weekend, and there was a huge crowd protesting to keep it open, but it doesn't look goodThe street talk is that the orgnization will still exist, butr at a new venue. They need the CBGB building to expand a homeless shelter. Remember, this place is on the bowery, so they won't be short of occupants.
I'l let you know if I hear anything more.

Tig, the Harley Cafe was closed down I think last year. It's a bank now. But I know a ton of other excellent places. Mars2112, The Jeckyl & Hyde Club, Tavern on the Green (which is usually too expensive for me LOL). The Metropolitan Museum of Art has a decently priced cafe/restaurant. And then there's the usual places like Hard Rock, Planet Hollywood, etc, which is more touristy than real NY style. How about China Town or Little Italy? If the WTC was still there, we could have gone to Windows on the World for a great lunch experience. There are so many places to eat and make an experience out of it. By the way, if you're interested in learning how to fly on a trapeze, there's a new outdoor place on the west side highway that teaches trapeze, and you really get to fly around! There's just so freaking much to do, that's why I sit home mostly every weekend .

I have to pay off my cruise by Oct. 5th or 15th, something like that, but I'm going to do it this month instead. I just want to make sure I do it in enough time to get my Disney Rewards points. Sometimes it takes a cycle or two, so I don't want to miss out on any free $$$ coming to me. I'm going to charge it, then pay my card off in full. I LOVE those rewards points. I should have over $500 worth by the time we sail. Maybe even more, because I was thinking of charging Chad's full year of college tuition, and then paying it off the cardin full, for the points. He gets a half scholarship (THANK YOU GOD), but we're still responsible for $6,000 a year.

Oh, good news...Jesse came home with the usual bunch of first-day-of-schoool papers to read and sign, and among them was the school calendar going all the way to 2007! Woo hoo, now I can really plan my next WDW trip! :cheer2:

Man, I keep talking about myself! How are you all, my friends? I hope the week hasn't been to tough with back to school, and being tired. The weekend is coming. Get some rest, hope for beautiful weather, and start packing! OMG we only have a little more than 3 months before we cruise!

Aisling thinking Grim is a teacher (and Dede's hysterics over it...)
Nan in a drunken stupor...
Jill/Tig & Tori teching it out...
And all the rest adding their two cents like me.
I LOVE knowing what is going on in everyone's lives...and MINDS! :confused3
It warms my heart to check out this thread everyday! :sunny:
You guys are the best! :grouphug:
I am SOOOO worthless during the week...work...workout (yeah, right! back on that saddle this weekend!)...dinner...homework...a bit of outside playing...tubbies... :love2: ...tuck in...check in on you all...news...bed. WHEN is their time for errands, housework, checking papers??!! OH, yeah, that's what weekends are for! Oh, yay! :guilty: Oh, well, the good news is, we really do spend FAR less $ now that school has started!
I did go shopping(instead of working out! NICE!)...looked at dresses...only liked the ones NOT on sale...bought Dan a shirt (75% off!), and Marcus some new jeans. Saw some things Mom could get ME and the kids for Xmas...she appreciates when I give her ideas!
Oh, Hailey went home w/ sore throat & 99.9 temp...WHAT is going on at our house? We are usually very well here! Luckily Mom is off tomorrow if she needs to stay home, cuz I am SO not ready to have a sub in my room! OH, wait, I have on next week for a district meeting!
Sorry....I ramble....giddy from exhaustion, I think,
Nigh nigh (Marcus's name for his blankie as a baby...a nasty shred now)
Kris

Someone's in a good mood today :teeth:

Britt's just getting home I'll relay the CBGB info to her now...

Just proofread my post...
YES, I AM A TEACHER!
YES, I NOTICED MY 'their' ERROR!
(should have been there)
Ok, gonna read the DCL forum...
may pop in one more time
Kris

Britt wants them to find another place for the Homeless shelter

Remember the really light purple-ish dress I wore in pictures from NC? Well, I got a dark purple one now too! Aisling, we'll have to coordinate so we can wear our purple dresses together ;)

I have my white Mickey cover up and a blue/teal tye dye cover up dress for the pool/beach days.

Since hubby and DD are going camping this weekend, I may hit a couple stores and start looking for my dressy dresses. Kohl's usually has a good selection, I'll check there first.

I rather enjoyed the Harley Cafe...we hit the bar there while waiting for a table then had a really nice lunch/dinner at a window table and then went right back to the bar til we had to go to RCMH for the Christmas Show. Oh yeah, and we hit FAO Schwartz on the way to the cafe...nice::yes::, expensive but nice.

I need you to help me on how to get into the city...I've only ever come into the city by tour bus. I could take a train in, what do you recommend?

You have such fabulous kids! Chad is on the right track, if he's gonna go far in politics he's gotta learn how to schmooze. If it means being nice to a nun---he's no different than his Mama who's best friends with a priest. :)

Hi Kris  I know what you mean---I may not post all the time but I always come back to see what everybody's been up to. :grouphug:

Hey! Maybe if you all get done with the colds now you'll have no worries when vacation gets here...

~cj~

No worries Kris...

We'll not be berating the teachers here---
~
Mom said she paid ours off so we can get our packages/paperwork from DCL...

I have a hate hate relationship with credit card companies-but that Disney Visa is awfully tempting. I hadn't even thoguht of using tuition to get credit...books, tuition and vacations that we already take could pile up quite a bit of Disney Dollars for me...but I will resist! I don't need it if I can't pay cash for it...

As far as $$ amount for lunch-I AM FRUGAL! I have champagne taste and a beer pocketbook....just gimme somethin good to eat...chinatown or little italy sounds intriguing. :scratchin

Hi all:

Back to my normal self, nothing strawberry tonight in the drink section.

A bit of Bun update. Her tummy stiches pulled out, we rushed over and got her stapled..another 10 days of antibotics. I watched the news today of pet rescues in NO, so sad. I can't even think of leaving my dearies home in that kind of situtation. I think I'd find another way & keep them with us no matter what, they are part of the family.

Oh yeah, I forgot the real news of the day.....I paid off our trip, well not really put it on yes the Disney VISA, for the points. The good news with that is that now I get to make our ressie for Palos for our romantic escape package. So, here is an idea....do we want to make it a large table on Thursday night? I'll mention it to Paul, but I think he'd be ok with it. Let me know who is interested, but soon as I make the call at Friday night at 9pm (+1 minute) my time.....gotta get the good spot ya know.

Still pretty wiped out from my bronchitis (did I tell you that I got that?) Off to bed....

(we call our blankie, "stinky" ..same thing from when Wilson was little and couldn't say blankie)

Nite,

Nan

:confused3 Kris, did I say something wrong?? I'm confused!

Aisling, we'll have to coordinate so we can wear our purple dresses together
I hope you like planning as much as you think you do, because as the cruise gets closer, we're going to have a lot of plsnning to do! Can't wait!

Nan: Poor bunny, she's lucky to have you guys

Palos Thursday ::yes:: absolutely-put us down for two~

Aisling: I think Kris was grading herself...and she had a few errors in her paper ;)

That was pirate talk when I said-"we'll not be berating teachers"

Me not wanna plan :earseek:

I'd quit my job and plan all the time if I could afford to...that's why I play my lottery :)

I'm so into it I'm checking up on you guys at 8 o'clock in the morning :teeth: :sunny:

TTFN,
~colleen~

Aisling and Tig - Did we pick a date and I missed it? I have never been to Little Italy OR Chinatown, so whatever, where ever.

Tig: we always drive in, sometimes we ferry from NJ.

Got a great review from a local critic! I love when that happens. Here's the link if you are interested! (not sure it will work, I'll have Dominick post it later!)

Boy can you tell everyone is back to school. No posts all day!!!

Karen, wowee, after this cruise, I can honestly say I know show biz folks! Congratulations on the success of the show. I know you all put a lot of work into it. Those strippers are some hot mamas! :hyper:

Oh yeah, I forgot the real news of the day.....I paid off our trip, well not really put it on yes the Disney VISA, for the points.
Smart, smart girl! Get those points, they REALLY add up, and it's free money!

I'll BRB, Chad just walked in and he's hungry! :sunny:
