Christmas Cruising 2005

Kris! I almost forgot to tell you, I got your chickens today!

Karen, If it's easier, bring yours with you. We leave on wednesday and I would hate to miss your stuff cause the mail was too slow.

btw Mom, what time are we leaving wednesday?

chickens chickens what all this talk about chickens????? Let's go back to rats rats rats!!!! Did I tell you the other night we saw a family of 3 racoons in our neighborhood? This is very odd for our neighborhood, so it was very odd. yes, I'm avoiding my packing what's it to ya.

I've been making some lables, ya never know we might need them, someone told me to put on our luggage or something, I can't remember....

N

I will probably come over at 8:30 so you can load the car & be on the way by 9:00.

Tig - having a computer melt down at home so we plan to finish our stuff tonight and send it priority mail tomorrow. I will overnight it.

Let me just say this - I am NOT Martha Stewart!!! So no laughing at our swap items! (Not to my face anyway) :rotfl2:

I am like a little school girl anticipating the first day of school, waiting to see who's in my class! I can't wait to finally meet all of you. When is the second meet in case we are not able to make the first one?

It's is going to be very quiet around here as you leave one by one. Don't forgot, some one please take a picture of the ginger village at AKL!

I have my final post already to go! I may even post it on the regular Cruise Forum, too!

I would say if all else fails. We could go to Rockin Bar D & grab a couple of tables. From Sep Navigator The Charles Marshall Band is still there & they arn't too bad. The teens go to the Stack The kids go their clubs & the Moms & Dads do their thing.

Off to another Xmas skating party & lots of food.

I just got my and DD15 swap items done (funny how she was more interested in *joining* the swap than she was *creating* our two items for the swap). Next, it's time to finish up Christmas shopping, some scrapbook swaps and then I can PACK....yipeeeeee! Can't wait to put names with faces!!!
See you soon,
Sharon

Karen--I'm not Martha Stewart, either, and I found that I could buy little NE tidbits much easier than make them (we made one Disney item). OMG I meant to put our names on the backs of those items...I am such a dork! Well, I guess the NE stuff is obvious...oh, well, life will not come to an end!

Let me just say...U2 WAS AWESOME!!!!! BEST concert of theirs, or anyone's I have ever been to! THREE hours they played, included TWO encores! It was truly amazing! Kanye West was an interesting opener...we missed the only song we knew, Golddigger. The crowd was so eclectic, too--I think the average age was about 40, but VERY diverse. Had dinner before, just a lovely girls night out. I don't feel too bad...bet I'm wiped tomorrow! (not a bad time to spend the day getting hair & nails done! ) princess:

Dan't aunt gave me some nifty shirt packing things...have so much to do(just packing really), but luckily the next week is relatively calm. Tonight quick scouts caroling, Marcus is having a friend over, salon day tomorrow, date tomorrow night (first watch those Husker volleyball girls hopefully win a national championship!). And then really just the regular events until Friday!!!
WOO HOO! One week officially as far as I am concerned!

Well, have a small group of students working a program on the computer. Better go check on them.

I am SO excited to meet you all!!!!!
LYMI
Kris
PS Tig--did the pins fair the shipping well? I can bring some extra glue if not.
PSS Nan--I might be jealous of your Xmas gift...maybe a goodie at a Caribbean jewelry store for me??!!

Good Morning Cruising Friends!!!

Last day here. We almost packed everything. A few straglers hanging out, but should be fine. I packed the "Football" that's the bag that has our tickets in it.

It's gloomy here today. I guess that's good to travel to a sunny place. Oh I hope it's sunny. We are seeing 60-70s in FL that's good it been cold here...50-60s. I know we shouldn't complain. No snow or blizzards. I do realize how great the weather is here by listening to you all.

Paul just got home from his last meeting. I better read my email and make our house sitters note, then pedicure I believe.

Ciao,

Nan

Dear Newcomers to our thread -

Do any of you pin trade??

Karen:

I'm leaning towards not bringing all the kids pins...they get so attached to them and don't want to trade anyways. They will get a bunch of new ones when we are there, what do you think? Should I lug them along (says the mom that already has overweight suitcases) I know they like like to look at them and share the looks with freinds....arrrr too much to carry.

N

Nan, I like to keep my pins,
I've always felt that if you show them people expect you to want to trade :confused3

Mine stay home.

Karen, in case you missed it, thank you for my liberty mickey :worship:

Sharon, are you bringing your swap stuff on the cruise? Remember to find me, room 6610, so I may add them to each package.

I have to tag all the boxes so DannyB! If you're ou there...are you still in on the swap or no??? Last Call for real! Sharon/Havencrusier, we are meeting in the promenade lounge after sailawy to swap.

My suggestion will be 9:45 Promenade Lounge - the old Navigators have Family Fun scheduled. The only reason I am adding to Mom's suggestion is because I believe the club TBJ speaks of allows smoking, do they Mom?

My allergy issues would prefer I visit the non-smoking areas of the ship. :confused3

anyone else want in on a meet later in the evening?

Nanette, I made paper ornaments for our room tree. Yes cruisers, I am taking one :teeth: Wilson is welcome to add yours to our tree during the course of the cruise. Write down my room number 6610. Our phones hopefully will work while in port. We'll coordinate our port day at akl ;)

Hi Paul! Hope you enjoyed the family dinner

okay last post for real, we're unplugging everything while we are gone, so I won't check ya in the morning.....

I can't come up with any great Bon Voyages, so adios muchcos (sp) see ya at the World or at the Sail away party!!!!

Have a good week for those of you who travel late, have a good half week for the rest and we'll tell Mickey to get ready for us Christmas Cruisers!!!!

LYMI,

Nan

 Bye Skjerven Family! You did good with your farewell Miss Nanette :)

It's gonna get reeeeeally quiet around here soon huh

Just checking in before resuming my packing and decorating...I got the lightd on our Christmas Tree, gotta go pull out the ornaments.

Aisling, tell Jesse Brittany says Hi please  They spoke briefly a couple weeks ago....it seems that they had to cut their conversation short cause his Mom needed her computer. ;)

Bye Nan - even though you won't see this until you return.

Tig- yes, I got your thank you, twice! :love2: I am sending my package today - overnighted!!! We always wear our pins. It's only when we have a our lanyards on, do we trade. (Except, of course, my Tinker Bell lanyard. Those aren't for trading!!)

We put up a 3ft tree we bought to use for one of our productions at the playhouse, I had forgotten about! Kayla put the tree topper on - our golden Mickey Ears!! Looks cute.

My aunt & uncle are staying at my mom's apartment Christmas night and getting a limo to Newark the next day. Rutgers is playing in the Insight Bowl in Dede and Grim's neck of the woods on 12/27. Kayla woke us up this morning and suggested we take the tree to my mom's so Aunt Annie and Uncle George have a tree for Christmas. I thought that was the sweetest idea!

Well, I've had my first melt down! I was just a nut, screaming one minute and laughing the next. I get really overwhelmed when we travel big like this. I chalk it up to being a red head (tantrums when I was young, anyone? My poor mom!) Anyway, I expect every one to read my mind and do exactly what I want them to, WHEN I want them to. Any one have any Xanax to share? I should have asked during my last Doctor's visit! I am so glad I took next Friday off!

Dom and Kayla are getting their haircut, so I have a moment to my self and a another one to just breath! Last minute shopping and begin packing today. A show at the playhouse tomorrow (watching, not involved in this one) and dinner with friends!

Four days of work and then .....and then ..... IT'S CRUISE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:grouphug: :boat:

I hear ya Kar! Hang in there

I just finished putting ornaments on our tree. For obvious reasons I'm not decorating half as much as we usually do. I put our tink tree topper on and some of our favorite glass and silk ball ornaments.

I told my threadkiller friends I'll post a pic of my tree for them, I think I'll throw a copy here for you guys too :teeth:

I found my tigger christmas hat! It was in the ornament box I pulled out of the attic today :cool1:

Grim & Dede! When are you arriving at AKL? Morning or night? Will you be in on lunch at Boma's with us? Do you two want to head to downtown disney with us that night?

Enquiring minds...

Tig--I'm impressed you are so ambitious. If I hadn't done decor the week after Thanksgiving, I would not have even done it this year! (still, did no outdoor decor, nor not many ornaments)
Karen--you and me the sad 2 who still have FOUR days of work! :guilty:
Nan--I'M JEALOUS! :wave2:
Just got back from my "spa" day. princess: Hair cut & colored, toes & nails done (and a return trip as I marred my big toe some how!), and a tan. A new nail salon opened, at 40% off, so managed to get by pretty cheap. We shall see how long the nails last...I have had acrylics put on 3 times before, and ripped them off before ever getting a fill! I have pretty good nails when they grow out, even strong, but can't beat acrylic! Plus the French manicure means I don't have to keep them polished, eitther.
Nebraska volleyball on the tube tonight--National Championship game! Then couples dinner out. Should be nice before I hit the grandma calenders tomorrow. I GOTTA get those done!
Well, I'll check in tomorrow.
Kris

Since I work sunday I still have three work days left...

Hubby and I have to fit in some shopping before I leave as well.

Enjoy your date tonight Kris, sounds like you had a perfectly pampering day princess:

The tree is done but my camera seems to be in the car that Britt is driving around in :earseek: gotta get my electronics together and charged and finish gathering my clothes.
