Christmas Cruising 2005

Hi, ya'll! Had my math meeting this AM and we finished about 10:30....officially I do not have to be back until 12:15! So stopped at Panera for a bowl of soup and free WiFi!
Now I seem to be thinking that the boys should have shirts/ties for formal night...of course, Jack has a different tropical shirt for every night, so he will look so cute! I dunno. Guess we'll visit next weekend about all that.
I think I've figured out what I want to do for swap. I will try to take care of that this weekend, then PM for addy.
I did get Jack new tennies last night (finally found some half off), but he isn't allowed to wear them until the week before the cruise or so--he just destroys things! I also found a pair of bling-bling earrings 75% off ($11!), plus bling-bling heels for 50% off. But they are my reward...if I don't lose a few more pounds, I have to take them back! Really trying to watch our pennies w/ Xmas & the cruise coming up--luckily we have this wonderful little department store (Von Maur) that offers interest free credit card! And they do mark downs EVERY Thurs., so good night to check out what they have. I keep looking at the dressy dresses, but not much luck. I will try all my stuff on the week before...need to try to get the rest of the gang to do it 2 weekends before.
I cannot believe it is getting that close!

Well, guess I should rap this up & head to school.
Talk to ya tomorrow! My bro is bringing his 3 kids over & babysitting tonight since we couldn't get a sitter. (what a nice guy!) We'll return the favor one night. The kids are excited! But not as excited as me! Yesterday was one of those days when you just wanna quit your job---I NEED 2 nights of dancing w/ my sweeie this weekend! Luckily cover charges are cheap in Lincoln--$5!!

Holy cow. I am all of the sudden very nervous, like I don't have enough time to do any thing before we leave. Everyone has their clothes, I have most of the decorations, reservations are set, changes to the reservations are ready, flight info received, transportation to and from Newark arranged. My to do list is make the door decorations, my swap items, get underwater cameras and get candy for the movies - is that all? So why am I all a jumbles?? (Is that actually a word?) I mean sick to my stomach nervous!

Dom and Kayla saw the 12:01 showing of HP last night. They said it was great. I am probably going this weekend. They got home at 4am and the M.O.M. (mean old mom) that I am made her go to school today. She went in late though! Well, she had to go as there is a function at the school tonight and she had to be in school to be a part of the function!

BTW, what type of candy should I bring when we go see Narnia? Was The Dreamer (A Dakota Fanning-Kurt Russell movie about a horse) a Disney movie? I hope that is on the ship, too!

Busy weekend - Hurricane Relief Fundraiser at the school tonight. BF's school play tomorrow night, All State Concert at NJPAC and dinner at PF Chang's Sunday.

Kayla just called - she got a solo spot in the School Talent show this year! We were both in tears. She is singing a song from Disney's Aida - same one she is hopefully singing on the ship!!

Karen, I feel the same way. I still have to buy a digital camera, lose 30 pounds, have my gown altered, lose 30 pounds, have my eyelashes dyed again, lose 30 pounds, put the $300 in tips aside, and oh yeah lose 30 pounds. I think I'm more nervous about our meet next week. There's so much I want to do, but not enough time. And it's supposed to be cold. You, Tig, Jill, and I need to chat. Do you guys have aol? We could get a private chat room and talk details. I mainly need to know your arrival/departure time, and who's coming. My car fits 7, or we can subway it. We'll tawk!

Guess what I got from work today for a Thanksgiving bonus...a $10 gift card to Waldbaums supermarket.

I really do have to get something doen in this area, I'm boardline diabetic now and have high bp, so can't continue with this forever, but in my ever loving do it later mind, I've rationalize myself into dealing with this after the cruise, besides, that darn cold....same stupid reason I didn't start my exercise plan when Wil started school is here again. I think it tracks me...

Well, off to scrap at a creative memories tonight. Going with 2 friends, looking forward to girls night out!!!! Pretty lame that it's scrap booking huh?

By the way, the Disney/Star Trek connection is in the ST movie The Undiscovered Country. At the end of the movie, their mission is done, and Captain Kirk is asked where he wants to take the ship next. "Second star to the right, and straight on til morning." Love it! My two obsessions have a link.

Jesse went to an International Dance after school, and then to a birthday party. Last week was a Bar Mitzvah, and Sunday is a Confirmation. Junior high has to be the most social time in these kids' lives! Gotta go pick him up now.

Ok no one panic - I can not find my costume for pirate night! The search for it is at the top of the list this morning!! How does one lose a very purple satin long large dress? Leave it to me to!

I am in for shaping up after the holidays. I have been thinking along those very same lines! I mean I love food (it will be obvious when you meet me in person!) I love to cook, bake, experiment and yes eat! And now that we are upon the holiday season, the eating frenzy starts at Thanksgiving and end January 1! I am going to enjoy myself, for January 2 we eat right, smart and healthy!

Actually Dom and I were talking about eating on the cruise. On the 3 day, by the time we got to CC, no one wanted to eat anything we were all so stuffed. So the plan is sensible breakfast and lunch, and really enjoy dinner. Ok, you can all get up off the floor from laughing, I said it was our plan!

I just feel like and and all at the same time. People we are going on a cruise!!!

We are not sure if next Sunday is considered the grid lock day or not, so we still don't know our mode of transportation. Hopefully, I can nail Dominick down and make a decision. I forget, are we close enough to go see the tree? Even if it isn't lit, it's still cool! It came from Wayne. NJ this year everyone!!

Is the tree in NYC at Rockefeller Plaza a big deal out there in the rest of the country? Can you see the lighting of it on TV?? I've always wondered that. And do you out there get the Macy's Day Parade, or is that a local thing? I never miss it! Especially since the time Santa stood up at the end of the parade to go into Macy's and his pants fell down. I thought my sister and I were never going to stop laughing. Ever since then, he doesn't get up until the show is over and off the air! True story - just ask my sister. Now the Rose Parade - my personal favorite - that is a must for Jan 1, only this year it's on Jan 2!

Ok off to do laundry, dishes, search for the costume and all of those other chores I keep putting off!

Well...I am TICKED OFF! Last night we were dancing away..."Play that Funky Music White Boy"...one of my FAVORITE songs to dance to, and suddenly my left thigh just HURTS! I could barely walk off the dance floor. MAJOR pain...
Mom & I did a little diagnosing, and it would seem to be a virus in the muscle (ever get that in your neck...you turn it one day & it just catches...every time you turn it, sharp pain). It feels just like that...but when you have to put weight on it, whole new ball game. So hopefully that is all that it is. I'll take it easy this weekend (not something I do well...guess it is a good excuse to scrapbook!) If it isn't better Monday I'll head to the doc. Kinda screws dancing again tonight, plus all weekend workouts!!!!!ARGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Guess I might be in w/ you girls for that post-cruise weight loss!

So, Tig, Aisling & Karen--I'm getting jealous again! Have a wonderful time, girls!

OOH, I could sit at the computer and finish typing up all my lists for the cruise! And I could finally watch the LAST Harry Potter movie (that Marcus got last XMAS that we sadly have not watched yet!). Guess I just need to be forced to slow down once in a while! They have shown Harry Potter movies on the ship in the past...that would be cool if they were showing the new one!

So we have a sitter tonight...maybe just dinner (new place we wanna try that is getting rave reviews) & a movie--what a thought! The last movie we went to was Hitch!

Grocery store is having big sale today...think I could convince Dan to go??!!

Well...suppose I should try to hobble upstairs & shower & dress. Unfortunately the computer/TV w/ DVD/scrapbook room are in basement, and bedrooms on 2nd floor!!!!!! I'm sure I'll be back!

I am very sad but I am also excited to hear the phone ring later and tlak to them while they are dancin g to the music at the sail away party! I might even be able to hear the music! haha Well other than tlaking about that I had to go to the eye doctor yesterday because I failed my vision test in school. I ended up haveing to get glasses! I have to wear em all the time..which stinks but I got some really cute ones! ahah

I've been working on a special gift for you all, but am having some printer problems. I may have to buy a new printer tomorrow, which I hate because I also have to buy a digital camera. I'm trying to penny pinch these last few weeks before the cruise.

My mom's here visiting. Today would have been my parents 45th wedding anniversary if they stayed married. Divorced after 24 years. My mom married my dad when she was only 16 years old, had me at age 17, and just turned 61 this past August. Both are happier not being married anymore, and they tolerate each other when they're at family events. I think this anniversary is affecting me more than it's affecting her. I had a very very hard time dealing with the split, even though I was already an adult. Anyway, I'm just grateful I have both my parents. I'm still my daddy's little girl at age 43!

Now to go have some ice cream, uh lettuce wraps!
