Christmas Cruising 2005

I have a deviated septum. It's terrible in the winter mostly. When the heat is on it is really hard to breathe. And, forget being in a smoky room - definitely can't breathe.

I got it in karate. The girl I was sparing with got me with a back hooking kick. Right on the nose. I was bleeding terrible. I never did do karate again.

Well being a chicken s**t grown up when I went to the Dr. to see how they fixed it I chickened out. Should have known better. When I finally got enough nerve a few years later it was too late.

They could do the operation but no guarantee it would be fixed.

Take it from one who knows = get the operation.

I'm back, bathroom's done---Dad and hubby are replacing my shower door tomorrow. They just told me today. :hyper:

I found an awesome bathroom tool today, anybody try the Magic Eraser yet? It's awesome! Aisling, you have shower door issues like me, try it---today is the cleanest I've seen the door since we moved here 8 years ago!

Havencruiser-Sharon: what is your DD and DBF's names, nick names will also do? I added your DD to the swap list, spaces are going fast.

Kris: I just added my spreadsheet to my list of links. I have updated it since I put it online, of course the updated spreadsheet is in my work PC. Gotta copy all that stuff into my laptop next week and repost.

Nan, unless you really want to, I think you should leave Molly's black eyes off the net. She may appreciate that you know. ;) Maybe a new riding school IS in order tho, esp if falling is a common problem there.

I got what Wil said, he said he can't wait for cruise time cause its gonna be one HUGE party!

Hugs to the fam, LYMI.

Allears has the resort maps in their picture galleries. I will ask Rose to go resort hopping for you tho, we're having breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge our first day. I'll take her under the premise that I can show her where her daugher is staying the night before the cruise.

Lynn: Did you ever get new navigators...check the link grim put up within the last page. Your bunnies are adorable.

Aisling: waiting for february sounds like a good idea. My son is having a doctor work on his nose currently. He got punched at a concert and still cannot breath thru the one side of his nose. He had a cat scan but has to go back for an MRI.

I remember Mom's last fall on her bike. She learned the hard way not to wear sandals when riding and she's got the scars to prove it.

Aisling had mentioned to me that she and I have linked our dining ressies and we are curious if anyone else, who has late dining, wants to links theirs too. This way we can at least be close to each other if we cannot sit together.

PM Aisling or me and we'll tell you how to get them linked.

Okay, I know understand what it's like to come home to a lot of posts...

hmmmm...here I go....

Fortunately, no black eyes yet.(hopefully none tomorrow) She looks pretty banged up. It makes me so sad. Today at Fairyland we watch some kids around 4-6th graders doing a really cute Byer Rabbit play and the kids in the play keep looking at Molly (who was sitting in the front watch enraptured by their performance) I'm nervous about what will be said at school on Monday. I've suggested that she call her friends tomorrow and let them know that she needs some extra help in dealing with the nervousness about how she looks. I think she is ok about getting back on the horse. She says she is going to try, and if she is too nervous she'll just stop. Since this really can be a dangerous sport I don't want to force it on her. If she wants to ride I'll support the idea, but if not no pressure from me. She did have a walk around on the horse on Friday after the fall, her instructor insists on that, just to make sure that the girls aren't freaked out. So, about the nose...I'm glad you mentioned that you waited and then had a problem Jill. I was thinking if she didn't have to make a decission on fixing it until later that would be ok. But I realize now that idea might be shortslighted. If she has an issue I think we'll try to get it fixed sooner than later. Paul had a big problem with his (ds) after a car accident. The surgery was bad for him, lots of bleeding afterwards and really he wasn't prepared for the pain.(it was before me, so I'm just telling what I heard him say about it)

Jim, did you make a joke about hunting/killing rabbits???? What kind of guy are you??? Stay away from the bunnies.....Stick to your fishes, huh? (just kidding...)no not really stay away from the rabbits.

Aisling: I have Paul signed up for the biking on St Thomas, because he wants to Dolphin with us on St Maarten. Let me know if there's any chance the boys want do this other one instead. I don't think St Thomas is that long...might be easier for them, huh? :confused3 I might be that *Grand*Mom who would hold your hammock CC....After Jill and I sail the air that day I think I'll be sipping drinks and lounging around.

Dede&Grim : Not sure if I sent P&PD on the escrow again yet. Either way here's some more. How's the new house coming along??? I'm sure I speak for us all when I say show us some more pictures of what's being built this week....

Kris: I wish I had your enthusiam for exercise. Even if it does feel good the day you do it, I HATE IT!!! Did I mention that I finally got my butt over to Curves. I went on Thursday, and yes felt good that day, but hated it. I think I hate that when I was young I never had to do anything to stay thin, and never incoporated into my life any kind of exercise other than things that were fun for the here and now. I also had and have terrible eating habits. None of this effected me until I was in my late 20s, then the constant work 12-16 hours a day and bad eating took its toll. 5 pounds a year until I had Wilson. Of course as I'm typing this I'm scarfing tortillas chips, okay I'm watching SNL too, so does that make it ok?

ok, I think I caught up for the night...so to bed now..pumpkin picking tomorrow, hoping for a peaceful day with just a bit of a breeze from the ocean.

Nite nite,

N

oops almost forgot...we went to IKEA on the way home and I got the cutest little lights for .99 each. A string 6 ft red & green (I got 10 total) hoping to use them on our door wreath and veranada. I can't wait this is going to be such a fun Christmas vacation...can't wait to spend it all with you guys!!!

It's like Jim said. Maybe they don't know me yet. I read some of his other posts & I would say he has a unique sense of humor but doesn't mean anything wrong. Me myself I hate watching shows where they harm animals & I love your little bunnies.

Thanks.

Actually, it was not a joke about killing rabbits, but an allusion to a traditional German dish for eating rabbits.

Lynn and I go WAY back, and luckily she knows the many sides to my humour are only intended to provoke thoughtful, pained expressions followed by mirth and merriment.

Hey all - playing catch up.

To all of you teachers ... I give you a standing ovation. Kayla is ADHD and was a nightmare for teachers in her elementary years. Standing on the bathroom sinks singing at the top of her lungs while looking at herself in the mirrors, couldn't sit still, sitting upside down in her chair in the classroom, you know what I mean. If it weren't for the fabulous teachers and yes, good parental support, Kayla would not be where she is today! So THANK YOU!

Aisling - you will be happy to know despite the true outcome of the trial, we have the jury write on cards how they would have voted for on the Lindbergh trial. The majority find Hauptmann NOT guilty!

Nan and Molly - Kayla has been thrown, kicked, bitten, but never gave up. I agree if the place you are at isn't right, find the one that will work for you. Ask around and see if other people know of a good stable. Kayla had motor problems, too. One of her horses was given to a place that works with handicapped people so you know he was a gentle horse! Good luck.

Kayla informed me her BF says he has outgrown Disney. I forbade her to see him any more. :rotfl2:

I MUST work on my families itineraries this week so I can wake up at 2:45 AM to make them on line next Monday!!! YIKES.

I wish there were pictures to show. It's still just a hunk of concrete - they haven't started framing yet. When they said 10 months, they weren't kidding.

You guys are too much!

I saw your humor Jim!

Grim: Your chili joke got me giggling too! I shared that one with hubby ;)

Nan, I hadn't even thought of how her schoolmates will take her injury :o
Sounds like a phat pair of sunglasses are in order.

I can't find my AKL map!

Grim! What was your recommendation for location request at AKL? Nan is asking, she is staying concierge.

My recommendation was anywhere but the bus stop view (Giraffe Trail).

We've been on the Kudu Trail twice, and no complaints.

Jim & Grim--keep it up, you CRACK ME UP! :rotfl2: :rotfl:
Date last night was terrific--great band. Even Dan is getting into this dancing thing! WOO HOO! :cool1:  I hope to sneak in a bit of late dancing on the ship...but they aren't too accomodating w/ the disco often not opening until 11:30 or 11:45! Looks like my kids will be closing down the kids club! (the bands are a crap shoot...never found one we really liked on Princess)
QUESTION! Is it possible for me to even get into the information for our cruise so that I know what time slots for Palo are open? If not, would one of you check it out next Sunday afternoon, and post the open times so that the rest of us might figure it out!.....
Well, need to get ambitious!
Bye! :wave2:
Kris

Jim: No worries I really knew you were kidding and I very much enjoy the banter between friends over topics that can make each other squirm...

You'll just never get the pleasure of the company of the bunny, unless she is armed and protected :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: which is pretty fierce protection from an 8 year old girl with serious eye rolling capabilities.

Asiling: I got you a gift at IKEA yesterday...if you pm me a mailing address you can have it before the trip.... The kids said "but they don't look like &$()#%s" "ah yes" I replied "but they are..."

We are soon out the door, 11:30am here. Got a late start. Molly slept until 10:15, her body needed to rest I think. Weather looks great here so I'm sure it's just a bit cooler over there, perfect as we like it.

Molly's calling me to help with hair washing, gotta go...check in later tonight, have a great day everyone.

Nan

Jill, again, you have me amazed. Is there anything you haven't done? You are the coolest mom I know, no kidding!

you will be happy to know despite the true outcome of the trial, we have the jury write on cards how they would have voted for on the Lindbergh trial. The majority find Hauptmann NOT guilty!
Karen, this does make me happy, even though it's too late for poor Bruno. What a switch, though, going from Gypsy to something as serious as the Lindbergh trial. You must all be a very talented group.

I MUST work on my families itineraries this week so I can wake up at 2:45 AM to make them on line next Monday!!! YIKES.
Why 2:25 AM?? Someone please fill me in! I don't want to miss out on this!

Sounds like my chili.
I could go for a nice bowl of chili right now.

Jim, can't wait to meet you. My best friend is an off-the-boat Irishman, and I've learned that you guys have a great wit that I love so much. Never a dull moment, that's for sure!

Well, I had my eyelashes dyed today, and I scared my kids. They think I look evil. I thought I'd have a choice of color, and I would have chosen brown, since my lashes are blonde, and I'm fair of hair, eyes, and skin. But it happened so fast, and then it was done. So I have black eyelashes. I'm glad I did it, but I do look a little different. I'm not into eye make-up at all, so this replaces the never used mascara I have sitting in my drawer.

Good news, Chad has a chance to have an internship at the UN. I don't have any details yet, like what he'd be doing, but I'll let you all know when I find out. I do know that it's that or going down to Georgetown Univ. for some special political classes. I'd rather he do the UN, since it's right in our back yard. And it sounds cooler, too.

Jim, I have my red dress ready for you. A year ago, I posted a photo of my red dress, which you took a fancy to. I told you you may have it if I can't fit it by cruise-time. Looks like you're going to be in red this Christmas! :rotfl2:

Congrats to Chad! Well done, no matter which direction you go!

I was doing good this summer and went right back into my rut. My size has become irrelevant. I'm modest so I won't be flashing any flab...no worries there guys...but I've decided to be comfortable with my weight and leave it at that.

I did say before, I stopped buying for a size I want to be and learned to buy what fits.

I can't wait to see Jim in that beautiful red dress...

Sounds like my chili.

Actually, It's just like your chili!!!!!

I've been up against killer rabbits before.

When I was in Spamalot (on Broadway) last june, a killer rabbit nearly wiped out the entire legion of King Arthur's knights.

If it wasn't for the Holy Hand Grenade, they would have never vanquished the rabbit (messy bit that)and I would have never found the Holy Grail.

That's why I am Peasant of the Year!

Aisling,

I've been here so long the only time I have an accent is when I'm home or talking to my siblings.

Jim

You have heard of Jack of all trades. Well I am Jill of all trades.

I understand about fair eyelashes & how about eyebrows. Mine was so light eyeliner was a joke. Check this out - I had my eyebrows tattooed - & I don't regret it at all.

:paw:

I'm back, laptops better now

She needed a reboot :confused3

My camera now works with my laptop.

I'll be visiting mom tomorrow, she has an ethernet program I may be able to use to get the kids back online. Anyone use an ethernet connection?

Aisling said:
I think that's what we use. It's a wireless system, correct? :confused3
I'm not really sure...I have yet to see what Mom has on it.

I know my computer has the socket(hole) for it.

I will go surfing to see if I can find out...

okay you silly knight (did you read that how I read it???)k*nig*it* Did you really play in Spamalot or SEE Spamalot???? Paul and I so love our Monty Python. Makes me want to rent a MP movie and enjoy it. I may just have to schedule that in for this week some time.

We had a great day at the patch, got some good pumpkins. A really big one, a nice medium one and a cinderella (that's a white one). We had a fun time walked thru a corn maze, never found the exit...both the dogs came. Kinda funny...story, ok I'll tell ya...We are loading up, I go out to the office to check ebay one last time before we leave. The front and back doors are open, I walk in the back door calling the dog (the red one that never gets to go) to come in the backyard to be put away so we can leave...I call and call and call, out from the car runs Molly & Wil, "Mom she's sitting in the car front drivers seat" hmmm...dog is telling us that she IS GOING TODAY. We get to the car and sure enough she is sitting in the drivers seat and not moving. We caved in and she got to come with us. Casey the black dog was invited to come to begin with. She has been crying alot lately, acting old, so she gets extra attention whenever we think she might not be here too much longer.

We snooped around looked in the old neighborhood for houses, agreed to go and look at some that we can not afford. I guess it's better to look and know what is there than not know what they really are like inside and think that maybe we'd really want it.

In for sunday night tv now...west wing....desperate hw...crossing jordan

talk to ya later,

Nan
