Christmas Cruising 2005

Disney Cruise Line Tribute

The above site is very informative on the cruising info & questions most asked. If you go to the weather site it will show you the current weather for whatever cruise you are on eastern/western.

Sorry havn't been on board. I've been working overtime.

Aisling
I didn't cruise in the winter. We went in Aug during the hurricane season.
The passporter's disney cruise line book shows it will be around 77 degrees during the daytime & minimal rainfall.

As CJ for me I would rather post pictures. I looked up Circle Journal on google.

If anyone has their own web site you can install a program called gallery & we could all post our pictures in one album. On our cruise "MORAN CLAN" had a website & that is what we did. We had a before picture & an after picture group.

Sharon
What cruise were you on before? I see you are talking about other cruises. :)

Tig, I have been planning our days....
WHO scheduled tequila tasting the same day as martini tasting, the same day as the captains cocktail party??!
I am gonna be LOOPY on formal night!
Kris

Kris: Are you spying this from a past navigator?

Hi Jill: I was just wondering if Tig would chwck in while gone, but I bet not...even if you're her mama, she's a grown-up girl. So the idea about the Circle journal that I like was that we'd all share a memory with each other. But if you're not a scrapbooker then it could seem like a lot of work or just plain old not for you. I have mixed feelings about it, since I'm new ot the concept, but perhaps it would be fun for those of us who are into it.

Speaking of scrapping, I'm headed to Vintage Mickey shortly, but did I tell ya that Lee & I are putting a deposit on a March Mexico Cruise weekend with the scrap store & friends? It's the weekend of march 10-14, 2006. Not even sure where we are traveling, I just liked the idea of cruise/scrap.

Oh just saw the clock, better get moving.

Nan

Tig decided to leave the computer at home for the kids to use & unless she finds a terminal I don't think she'll be checking in.

On the last cruise I made a notebook when it was all over. I guess it would be a form of scrapbooking. I have all of my navigators, tickets pictures, luggage tags, & I put them in the plastic holders that are holepunched for notebooks.

I see Kris & Sharon have joined a cj group together. It seems they do this for a whole year together. Cool but you are right too much effort for me. I have a bad habit on things like that I start them & don't finish.

I'll be back into skating practice full time next week. Work day starts at 6 am. I usually get up at 4:30. Go to the rink for about 2 hours & by the time I get home & eat & bathe I'm done for the day.

Jill: where do you find the engery???? I wish I had a passion like your skating. I know it makes a world of difference on our bodies as we get ahem, older, but I just can't find that place in myself that is motovated...

I'm ready to go now, just printed my calendar from my office to take with, gotta sign up for more classes....okay I have a passion, it's for making scrapbooks right now.

See ya later,

Nan

Jill, more power to ya with the skating. You must be exhausted at the end of the day, but what a good workout you get.

Well, tonight/tomorrow morning is the mad excursion rush for all of us first-time, non-REAS, non-concierge folks. Can't wait. I just hope I know what I'm doing, and don't waste time trying to figure it out. My kids really want the stingray swim on CC, and I have a feeling it's going to be a popular one to grab.
I went to my excursion wish list on the DCL site, and it says "ypu may not reserve shore excursions at this time...", so I'm hoping this is the spot where I need to be at 3 AM tonight, and then it'll say something different. I know I'm obsession over it, not wanting to waste a precious second, just like the CRT and Illuminations rushes.

Gonna grab some pizza...Mel and Jesse just came back from pickiing up a couple of pies!

Hey all!!!

Dede - to answer your question - the part closer to the nose. And I always put my contacts in first. It takes a while, but I get used to it. I also use a little bit of glue.

Aisling - ready to go. Dom and I are getting up at 2:45 - will post as to our success.

As for the pictures and posting, Dominick can host a site for us all to use if any one is interested. Any one have a great name? He will register the site immediately.

Grim - any recommendations for shared software for all of us to use if everyone is in agreement??

Count me in. I'm sure I'll need some technical help with posting my pictures, but there are a few techies right in our very own group, and you know who you are. ;)
Thinking of a name... :scratchin

Yes a common site sounds great, something with Christmas 2005 Cruise, but I'm not a great namer, you artsey actor types I expect will come up with something good. :goodvibes

Okay, my advise for making your ressies, is to save what you want on your wish list then you can click just show me the wish list, it was easier to get those since they are right there.

I just tried to fix my pedicure from Xmas to Monday, no luck the time spots are gone. Oh well, I think I should do the pedi at WDW, rather than on the ship.

I wish you good luck and tell us in the morning how it goes.

Nan

p.s. My mickey scrap class was fun, now I have to figure out what pictures to put in it....

This is the photo album Moran Clan set up for our cruise. There are actually some still left in it. Go to the second page. My album is there.

DOM I sent you a PM on what shared software to use. It is acutally a site.

Aisling did you check out the dcltribute site?

Energy - Sometimes it isn't the energy but the final goal. :rolleyes1

I was getting ready to do someposting this afternoon & the job called & asked if I wanted to work I said yes. That's $243 take home. I would be crazy to refuse it. :rotfl:

Hi guys...Tigg Called. She is working on the relax as I type. Her flight was delayed, she got in around 1am and to sleep around 3am. Bless her heart she & Rose treaked over to AKL & GF and got me some loot. Tomorrow they plan on visiting MK & Epcot, ahhh to have a vacation...soon we'll all be there too.

Aisling, still no mail??? I can't believe it's taken this long to get accross the country.

Tonight's movie choice is "Million Dollar Baby" I've yet to get why it was so great. I think it will be tv time soon.

Back to lurk oops okay I admit it, ebay.

Am caffeinated up for the long haul. Decided I would rather get 4 hours of sleep from 2:30-6:30 rather than risk sleeping 4 then being unable to fall back to sleep. My butt should be dragging a bit later in the day this way. It may screw my work out plans, but I will keep plugging at school work for the next 4 hours. May actually be fairly caught up. Tomorrow is work day. I have prioritized/itemized my things to do, so hope to be extremely productive. Dan is due back tomorrow sometime. I am proud that he will come back to a tidy house. (except rec room in basement...). Laundry done, dishes done, cat litter changed (usually HIS job). Of course, sleep is forgone...I couldn't keep up this pace for long!
I am going straight for Palo ressies. Shooting for Thurs. for dinner (9? 8:30?), XMas for brunch (pipe dream, maybe) and Thurs for tea (3?). Could swap those 2. Shooting for sea days, though St. Maarten we may only spend a half day. Want to avoid the first 3 days since we don't know our rotation and don't want to miss AP show, though we may double dip anyway. Gotta go get my schedule for back up times. Sure would like to avoid Parrot Cay for formal/semi-formal (I have a wierd thing about this) would rather spend it in Palo.
SIL is still convinced that we have to sign kids up for the times we want them in the club. I said, no, just a one time sign up, drop off/pick up whenever want. I am correct, am I not? (per Passporter, unless I am misinterpreting). I told her this already, and she is still convinced she is right. Of course, she has done NO research, unlike myself who has read virtually every available resource on the subject!!!!! (of course, MIL is ALWAYS right...she will be convinced we are going one direction even if the guage in the van says otherwise!!!!!! Luckily, I still really like these people!) But I will probably go ahead and sign kids up, too.
Can ya tell I'm hyped on caffeine & adrenaline??!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
Well, need to make good use of the next 4.5 hours!!!
I'll be lurking!
Kris

Dan just called; will be back tonite :lovestruc  I always sleep better when he is here, anyway. (although a couple of glasses of red wine each of the last 2 nights took care of that issue! :drinking1  )
I have been looking at the Sept. Navigators....still shooting for Thurs. night for dinner since so many of you are that night, but actually I think Weds might be better anyway, since Disney Dreams is likely Thurs. night.
Tues is Pirate night, and first/last night are issues w/ dress...so W/TH are best (of course the whole world may feel that way, too!)
Oh, might go watch Grey's Anatomy/news while checking some papers. Gotta get my Patrick Dempsey fix! :lovestruc
Oh, I'll be back!
Kris

Hi Kris: I totally agree with the stay up plan. It worked for me. I did pay for it all week, but I was in a cloud of glee so it didn't matter.

You sign up the kids once from what I understand. It can be done online, really simple, name, nickname, bday, gender, any special requests check out person(s).

Okay another special piece of data all you mom types will love. Wilson lost his finger nail. The one from the slam in the door on the first day of school. It took a bit of deception, he was freaking out and sacred that it would hurt if I pulled it off, so I told him I would just trim it. Yank,(well slight tug) off it came.

Good luck to you too Kris, even if things don't look right on the screen, have faith that we can move our stuff around once we board. I like you am totally worried about having formal night in parrot ville. I do not want to think that this once in a lifetime event will be not what we hope for, but if we are stuck with the birds oh well, we'll figure it out.

Hey, why didn't you get to book early, I thought you guys are conceirge?

Smart lady! I wish I could get some overtime.

I looked at the dcltribute site, which I've heard about but never checked out. What a wealth of info there! Thanks for the link, Jill. I see you're still not tagged...and I've begged like a :dog2: to those TFs!

Beautiful, wonderful Tag Fairy, I'll give you a :love2: if you tag my dear pal
trinibjill. I will  you forever. I'll even sing a song for you :rockband:
Tag, Tag, Tag Fairies, you lovely sneeky gals,
I'd be forever in your debt if you would tag my pals.
The lovely Jill, with motortrike would shine with glee today,
if you sweet darling fairies send some hues her way.
Sort through Jill's posts, oh honored ones, and choose a catchy line,
or maybe 2 or 3 or 4, whatever would be fine.
Then do your thing, your fairy task that conjures rainbows down,
And sprinkle color on her tags, so she will never frown!
A Disney smile shall always be upon Jill's happy face,
because of the Tag Fairies here on the Dis spreading magic in this place!
WE LUV YU TAG FAIRIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nan, still no mail. I hope it wasn't something alive that has escaped! I'll PM you my addy again so you can double check.

And what's this???
I wish you good luck and tell us in the morning how it goes.
You mean you're not staying up/getting up with us to offer moral support???

Thanks Aisling - you are a sweetheart.

Glad you liked the dcltribute site.

Hey dis'rs hope you like the album site.

Good luck with all of your ressies :wizard:

I called my TA several times throughout this year to make sure they had my PLA request down. The last time I called, to take Mel off, the TA asked me if there was anything else I wanted her to say/ask DCL on my behalf since she was about to put me on hold and call them. I just reminded her to beg them for PLA, and she said ok. When she came back on, she said they have it down on their list, but no guarantees, but she said it looks good for me. So call! parrot ville :rotfl2:

Kris, I'm faling asleep, so I guess I'll be loopy when I have to wake up in a few hours. I'll try to get an hour or 2 of sleep before I have to go to work. The bad thing is that I took a medication that makes me drowsy, and if I don't rest, I get nauseaus (I know there's an extra letter in their somewhere!) So I have to give in to sleeping for a while.

Karen is probably asleep!

I'm glad you heard from Tig, Nan.

Oh the nerve of me not to stay up until :confused3 5am.....are you crazy :rotfl2: oh ya you are.....no need to send me the address again, since I really just wrote it on the envelope and I have no way of knowing that I worte it correctly, maybe they escaped :confused3 :earseek: watch out mailman...gonna get ya....

I want a fairy to color and make me funny. Not sure that I ever say anything funny enough...oh ya, look at my I stayed awake all night week, I believe I was on a roll, might have been a bagel, I was so hungry I'd eat anything :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: isn't bad humor better than nothing when you have to stay awake???

okay, back to google, looking up fingernail info...they take 3-6 months to regrow, did ya know that?

Now I have to snoop Jill's links....

This happened to my Jesse, and we band-aided the hanging-by-a-thread fingernail down. By the next day, the nail was black, and it came off with a tiny tug. I have that fingernail in my jewelry box, will all my kids' baby teeth!
Hugs to Wilson for his ordeal. Or maybe he'll like this guy better :earboy2: , or these  :scared1:  :hyper:  :tilt: Wilson, I'm just being silly because I'm sleepy! I hope your finger is feeling better, but if it isn't yet, it will start to feel better by tomorrow.
