Christmas Cruise 2005!!!

I've been lurking...just a quick daily check. Not much going on here but the usual summer stuff...
Marcus had 2 games Sat. afternoon in 105 heat! We headed to the pool yesterday afternoon--didn't seem nearly as warm that way! I was all worried as the kids looked a bit crispy when we got home (and we are diligent sunscreeners!) But today no one is worse for the wear!
Frantically trying to finish the whole house clean out. Dan & I are attacking the storage room & basement (rec room) today. Should be challenging but satisfying! Tomorrow wrapping up, begin set up/pricing--luckily the weather is to get MUCH cooler. Highs have been around 100 for last week, high of 80 tomorrow :cool1: plus much needed rain. And supposed to stay in 80s rest of week.
Then I have a few days to prep for my scrapbooking trip. Have several "swaps' to complete---we make a page or a card several times, then swap w/ several others who have done the same...so you get a nice variety w/o having to create all those different pages, only one creative juice required.
SOOOOOOOOO better get!
Will chat more when less busy!
Bye :wave2:

being so busy makes not eating easier.... :jumping1:
AND it makes the days go by much faster getting to this cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys! I have been on vacation and haven;t been able to catch up on the latest gossip! So if you could fill me in that would be great! It also seems that we have like the longest thread on disboards! Which I think is pretty awesome
!

Yes, we are doing really well.

The thread I was on for my last cruise (we changed the name to LOST AT SEA) was quite long. I hope we can outdo it.

There were 173 pages until the day we left. When we came back we still corresponded & wound up with 212 pages & 3,170 posts.

If we keep bumping the way we are I know we can outdo that without a hitch.

What do you think? :hyper:

Kristin, good luck with the sale. I hope you make buckets of $$$$$$. Let us know how it goes.

Hi Tori, did you have a good vacation?

Oh thank you for checking e-bay for me.
You're welcome, Jill. I'll let you know what the ebay sages tell me!

SO POOPED! But it feels so good to have the storage room in order. I swore to Dan that NONE of the items we (he!) hauled up for the sale will be returning back to storage. If it doesn't sell, Goodwill can have a heyday!
Plus got Jack's toys in rec room in order, plus Hailey's Barbie stuff. To her credit, she did get rid of half of her blond Barbies. We kept all the rest!
Still need to attack first floor, but it is the least daunting of the 3 floors. (Dining room, kitchen, family room). It is the part of the house that I keep in best order most of the year, so shouldn't take more than an hour or two.
Should go work out, but have done quite a few stairs & heavy lifting today! Need it to cool down--Marcus is driving us nuts! Trying to get him to not play PS2 or watch TV...bugging us seems to be his first choice! He read a while...not really his thing voluntarily! Hailey is reading now, w/o being asked!
Well...thinking about a nap.
Don't even have energy to reread your posts to make comments.......
Ni ni!

We can do it!

We are a happy talkative bunch, we're half-way there :hyper:

Kris

You go Girl!!!

Sounds like sooo much work but I can understand your pleasure when it's all said and done...:whew: will be your first words eh?

Have a good nap,

I talked to Nan yesterday!

Tried to anyway :confused3

cell phones, cross country, while she was driving... It was a short conversation...

I had to give Nan my grocery list for DL :cool1: She volunteered to pick up golden ears for me :cheer2: Yay!

Mom and me want the golden ears, our girls don't...

Hopefully after the huge giveaway on the 15th they still have some left.

Hope you're having a great time Nan!

 Hi Aisling and Grim adn Tori

and all the other Christmas Cruise lurkers out there...

TTYSoon,
cj.

Hey Mom! We're getting our Ears!

:cheer2: I spoke to Nan again...she says it's humid there and more crowded than in June.

The embroiderers won't do tiggerwannabe...no biggie, I guess because it's using a trademarked name :confused3

So Nan is pickingup two sets of gold ears, one for me and one for Mom with our first names on them in burgundy. Nan says it matches the burgundy writing on the front of the hat.

Mom wants to wear them on the cruise :teeth:

I asked Brittany if she was interested in having her own golden ears and she said no.

I am very grateful to you Nan :worship: for getting these for Mom and me.

TTYou again soon

How nice of Nan! Tig, you're going to have a big collection of Disney hats one of these days.

:sunny: :earsboy: Does this make us Golden Mouseketeers?
Annette & Cubby Would be very proud. :cool1:
Thanks Nan :love2:

Jill

Speaking of hats. I wear a Disney hat :earsgirl: :moped: under my Motorcycle Helmet. I used to wear Harley Scarfs.

::yes:: Sure!

Nan has a set for her whole family~our embroidery is going to match the girls and the boys have blue embroidery. :cool1:

I was just thinking last night...yes, again ...how am I going to wear so many hats :confused3

It'll be too hot on the islands to wear the heavy Christmas hats so embarkation day Brittany can wear my Princess, Stefanie will wear my Tigger, Mom and me will wear our golden ears to match Nan's family...and I will bring my fuzzy Mickey ears!

another idea  just hit me...why don't we ALL wear Disney hats that day?!?!THAT would make for an awesome picture! :camera smiley wanted:

Mickey ears, golden ears, eeyore ears---whatever you got!

Who's with me?

:rose:

I am just NOT a hat person! They just make me sweat! I own ONE hat to wear on our outdoor ed field trip each year--wide brimmed to keep the ticks off. I have tried one of DHs baseball caps on particularly sunny days at ball games...last about 2 min. Now, I'm not against hats for a photo op...
SOOO excited here! Got to 102 yesterday--was 75 at 7PM when we headed to ball party! We have had good moderate/hard rain for the last 15 hours!!!! Said one party of town had FIVE inches!!! WOO HOO! Not sure on this end of town...Mom will tell me what the rain gauge has when she gets home from work. The sump pump is working, but there is no water in house, so the hard ground seems to be soaking it well! Rain is ending, so gonna throw open those windows today and air the place out! Perfect garage-sale setting up weather!
Got a fun new toy...iPod! Justified it that I could pay for it if I sold most of my CDs...but the clinker is that I need to buy the iPod first, download the songs I want off the CDs then sell them! So in addition to cleaning out, I have to spend a bit of time at the computer downloading songs. Kinda fun, actually. Will be more fun when they are actually on the iPod. I would also like a Bose docking system (attach iPod, and it is a stereo), but they weren't in stock, and since it is in Omaha, I'll just wait to get it. Actually Target has it, so I may use a bit of garage sale $ for it. Dan thinks since I got the iPod that he can go buy a new driver! Hmmm...what is HE going to sell to cover that??!! :hyper:
Well...am trying to stay focused!
Bye!
Kris

Kris
How about a hat with just a brim & the band to keep it on your head. Dis makes them or you could buy one & sew or glue your favorite character on it. .

Tigg - Greaaat idea.

Kris:

How about the headband style "ears" ? Have you ever tried a pair of those?

I'll let you borrow my fuzzy Mickey ears-you can take em for a test drive for our "hat photo." If you like those Disney sells tons of fuzzy headbands in pooh character ears, mickey & minnie ears, etc...

btw-::yes:: your weather sounds perfect for you yard sale,

Did hubby earn enough for his driver when he moved all the stuff out of storage? -jc-

You DEFINITELY earned enough for your iPod ::yes::

Annette & Cubby Would be very proud.
:rotfl:

Kris, I'm not a hat person either. Each one in my family has the original black Mickey ears that we got on our first trip to WDW, but they're in a closet somewhere. I'll try to get us all to wear them for a cruise photo, but it might be difficult!
And I only wear a cap with a brim when I'm in a pool on a very hot/sunny day, with sunglasses. My eyes cannot stand the water glare, and my face burns even with sunblock from the reflective water. So, I wear my princess tiara, and my Minnie ears headband, which serve to hold back my hair.
MomAislingWhisperingCanyonWDW04.jpg

See the tiara on my head! Kris, what do ya think? I have another one you can have...we can't be the "topless" princesses in our group, with the rest og the girls wearing head gear. We can get !a cute tiara for your little princess too!
Tig, would that qualify as a hat, or should we get something else?? I want a good picture of us all! :cool1:

The light-up hat is SO cool!!!
I think wearing Disney hats at the game shows on the cruise would get the wearer a lot of attention by the CMs.

Those are so popular for weddings now...not when I got married! I wanted to wear one so bad, but it seemed pompous!
I could even do a headband. GOOD thinking!
Well, I am proud at how prepared I am for this garage sale. I am notorious for being up until 2 AM the night before pricing everything! But tables are set up and most everything is in the garage already. Still need to clean out kitchen/dining room (was taking a bit longer than I expected yesterday...), and finish downloading CDs onto computer (for iPod) so can sell CDs...need to call CD Warehouse & see if it would be a better deal to sell to them...not sure what they pay and if they pay cash or credit.
So, woke early (nice COOL night...55! What a lovely change! It was downright chilly w/ the wind at DDs last game last night!), guess I'll use my time wisely!
BYE!
Kris
Tig--Cute hat!!!
Hey, the icons are back to normal....WHAT is going on?
