Dede and Grim, you lucky dogs, as my kids would say! Have fun at DL, and send us a loud WOO HOO on Space Mountain, we'll hear ya! :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Nan, it'll work out. Sometimes you have to step back and let family share in the responsibility, and earn the credit your parents are giving them. You won't let your parents fall. God, this is so familiar to me. And if you need to vent or just share, know that we care and understand. :grouphug:

Now for my pizza, yeah, I'm having it, too. But mine's left over from last night! What a life, not even fresh pizza on TGIF night! :rotfl2:

 Aisling...did you go see the circus set up or did the "duds" keep you home?

Nan, you're at it again huh? Hmmm :scratchin: I wonder what it is? :worship:

You are too kind :)

My fantasia Mickey antenna topper's gone! :earseek:

I really hate it when people can't spend the $3 themselves...they gotta take mine!

I realized it when I was looking for my Mickey "car finder" in the target parking lot and it just wasn't there :confused3

This is the second time one disappeared when I took a run to target. I'm crazy gluing the next one ;)

I'm so sad you lost your topper....I loved the feeling of seeing my Minnie on the old Honda....I'm even thinking of getting a fake antenna to use the 50th gold one I bought last month...ok that is crazy

You guys will love this one....(Tigg I'd be the end of the biz that would handle those fab little girl (& boy) parties)

Paul is working with Molly to make some birthday Molly Money(normal size) & Dolly Money(little doll size)...each girl will get some MM & DM when they arrive and then they can pay for their mani, pedi, facial and do...Paul is grabbing the gif from the AG site and using their heads to replace the Dead Presidents....We'll use Molly's face @ 1 for $1, 5 for $5 and 8 for $8.... When they are finished I'll scan them for you too see. Kinda like Disney Dollars....

We layout out the backyard spa and Molly & I have gone crazy  at Target and $ stores the last few days.

Grim.....how was it???? I wish I could be there (not) too crowded :crowded: but I'm sure the magic will be great...

Aisling: & Tigg thanks for the support. I know it is a familar story, many people seem to be in the same place when their parents get old. You'd think by now someone would have figured out how to solve this age old (pun intended) problem.

Must get in and clean up that scrap table....JILL Don't join the dark side of the scrappers...some of my friends and I call it a coven...once you start it becomes an obsession. Okay, really scrapping is a blast join us now and then we can plan some scrapping on the ship.

BYE BYE...

Nan

I love your party ideas for Molly...so inventive :teeth:

I took Brittany with me to the store and let her shop around...she got herself a couple things tonight, a sweater -of all things- I thought it was odd for 90 degree days until she put it on with a denim skirt...sooo cute!

I was actually getting birthday gift ideas ;)

Target has designer lines like oldham and mizrahi and she really likes the modern cool stuff!

My fantasia Mickey antenna topper's gone!
That's so annoying! This happened to Chad with his Hulk topper from Universal. So far, no one has touched my princess topper, and if I catch anyone fiddling with it, they better run!

I think the Molly money is a cute idea, really creative. Have you done this before, will she be surprised to see herself on money? Imagine all the other little girls teling their parents that they want money with their picture on it.
You may have started something, soon you'll be seeing money circulating with all these little girl's pictures on them. :rotfl:

Aisling...did you go see the circus set up or did the "duds" keep you home?
I ended up not staying long enough to see it go up, but now I regret it, and will make sure I'm there when they take it down Monday night. I missed it last year, too, but this year was cool since I didn't even expect to see those circus trucks all of a sudden driving into the park.
When I was little, we used to go watch the character balloons being inflated outside the Museum of Natural History for the Thanksgiving Day Parade, and even living so close, I've never taken my kids. :guilty: But when Chad was a baby we took him to see the elephants coming out of the Lincoln Tunnel (or was it the Holland tunnel??) from Jersey into Manhattan for the Ringling Bros circus.

When is Brit's birthday?

July 31st, same as my sister.

We go to NC on the 30th, I;m hoping to do something special for her on Sunday.

Any ideas? (Nan!)

I told her we're going to buy her cake here and take the mix and baking pans with us to make it there. She likes the funfetti cakes so we'll probably do two of those.

We are feeding at least 12 people...

I have an idea, if you're up for it...

Would it work if we came to NYC and watched them blow up the floats with you guys this year?

They do that the day of the parade or before?

That must've been awesome seeing the elephants come in like that ~

I posted more when my activity plate was very full...now w/ not so much, I don't post as much! I am a procrastinator by nature...
Marcus finally had his bday party at Laserquest last night--really fun! Great group of boys. Hailey was miffed that she was too young/small to do it, and was asking where she could have her party NEXT year--Nan, I really like the spa at home idea, although for $100/8 at the salon, it might be cheaper than doing it at home! Crazy!
Nan--sorry to hear about your family crisis. But it does seem that good always comes from the challenges in life. I read a story in Chicken Soup last night that Mother Teresa always referred to problems as "gifts". I liked the change of vocab to encourage a change of attitude. But....
"Houston, we have a 'gift', here!" Wonder how that would have worked??!!
Well, Dan and BIL are in golf tourney today, so SIL & her boys will be arriving later. Feel I should clean even though we will likely be outside mostly.(OK, maybe not...90 at 11:30!!! High 100!!!) But BIL is staying over, and only place we really have to put him is the couch in the basement--in the rec room/TOY room, which I traditionally ignore...guess I better get busy!
I'll check in tomorrow!
Grim--Have fun in DL! ::MickeyMo :earsboy: :earsgirl:
Tig--LOVE "Target" (use a French accent)--took kids Thurs. night BIG mistake. Probably spent $50 extra! Sheesh! Did pick up another set of matching tropical shirts for Marcus & Jack at Old Navy for $3 each!!!
Aisling--like the Paradise Point idea; got Dan to decide NO golf on this cruise ($155!!! in St. Thomas--plus club rental and caddy!) We will likely hit the casinos in St. Maarten (leave kids on ship), and beaches w/ kids at St. Thomas. Hope there are good beaches there!
Jill--I saw your posts
Have a great weekend everyone!!!!!
Bye!
Kris

hmmmm, how old is Brit turning??? I'll put my thinking cap on. But I must say I tend to think of the party stuff months sometimes years in advance, so don't hold your breath. I usually find something (on way discount sale) that inspires me and then the rest is a snowball effect, making the discount seem paltry compared to what the actual out lay ends up being. I figure that is what I'm working for...to enjoy the side of life...I'm vacations, college fund, retirement, vacations, and birthday parties. I guess I better start making that college fund and retirement a bigger priorirty now.

Kris, that was really funny, "Houstan we have a gift"....I'll try to use that in the future and see how it makes me rethink the situtation.

Got DH finishing the cleaning of the patio so I can start to really layout the furniture and stuff, so I better hit it...

See ya later,

Nan

p.s. Circus and floats sound good to me, which I was visiting NY to join you guys.

Brittany will be 17...

I went to the mall today to get a haircut ... Brittany woke up just in time to go with me...and guess what happened: I got no haircut but Britt just came home with two pairs of jeans, a summer top, a skort, socks and a new cd...guess what I got? A toe ring :rotfl2:

We're driving to NC so there's not alotta room in the car for party favors.

I think we'll do a BBQ, have cake, go out for minigolf (her favorite vacation pasttime) and hit the local ice cream parlor...she asked for only one thing for her birthday, she wants her lip pierced :earseek: yes, her lip. Since that is all she wants, and her bargaining chip is that she'd pay for it herself...so...I told her if she came to me, cash in hand, that day-that I would take her. :faint:

I keep saying tho, if all I have to worry about with my kids is piercings-I must comply.

she asked for only one thing for her birthday, she wants her lip pierced yes, her lip.
Her lip pierced?? Yikes!!
I keep saying tho, if all I have to worry about with my kids is piercings-I must comply.
Amen to that.

Tig, since we won't be home for Christmas this year, we're going upstate to my sis and parents for Thanksgiving. Making it into a Thanksgiving/early Christmas celebration. So let's plan for next Thanksgiving to see the pre-parade festivities, and then the parade, of course, and some ice skating at Roc. How does that grab ya??

Does anyone know..Jill and Grim would know...do they give out Navigators at check-in so that we can get an idea of activities before we board?

Thanksgiving 2006? It's a date:teeth:

I just got done my son's room, it's all ready for paint now...I'm whooped and in need of a shower. Just thought I'd check in...

I believe the navigators will be in your cabin ... Mom? Grim? Can you confirm please.

Goodnight :cloud9:
~colleen~

HI :wave2:
Yes, they place a Navigator in your room every day. If you want more they are at Guest Services.
Jill :cool1: :moped:

It's about 4:20AM, July 17th 2005 - Happy Birthday Disneyland!!!

We're getting ready to go camp out in DCA for the big day after 4 hours of sleep. I'm getting too old for this... :bitelip:

We got here around 12:30 PM yesterday. Had lunch, a nap, then headed over to DCA. That was our first time in that park. We saw the Aladin show, which was very good - as good as any theme park production I've seen.

large.jpg

Had dinner at the Vineyard Room with wine pairings - very good.
Saw the Electrical Parade which I haven't seen since before it 'Glowed away forever'.
large.jpg
Hit Soarin' Over California - awesome! And finally rounded out the day with a stay at the Hollywood Tower Hotel (which has some neat special effects, but the one at MGM is way better).

Bye for now!

grim pirate:

Grim, thanks for the pictures! I knew you wouldn't forget about us!
I love the Aladdin photo...I wish there was an Aladdin show at WDW. How are the crowds?

Yikes! What a bunch of busy busy bodies! :rotfl:
Yeah, me, too--I have SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much to do in the 2 1/2 weeks before I head to Provo I have NO business being here! But I GOTTA check once a day...it IS an illness!
Well, better go!
Come back everyone!!!! :guilty:
