I had the chance to go to the shore today...

I chose to stay home, alone, and clean...

I got sooooo much done tho...it does feel good.

My life is so involved with the family that when they're not here I realize how many other things need to be done.

I actually enjoy doing them and it keeps me home and keeps me from spending any money.

It costs no $ to clean the house. And as you say Kristin, actually can make money...

I started and Ebay account..

Hubby would rather I go to the flea market to sell our stuff rather than do a yard sale. We live right on the highway and he doesn't like strangers coming here and "going thru our stuff" ... the issue with that is to do the flea market I have to be there at 5am on and only on Sunday... I like to surf the web, so I'm trying my hand at selling my stuff thru ebay. I've only posted a couple items and have to work thru a few kinks but I think if done well it can be very lucrative for me...eventually... I've already learned that it may be a money maker...but it's a slooooow money maker.

Did that sound Twilightie Zone enough for you? Or was that some other outer space thing????

I've figured out that when we go to DL or WDW we are just in another dimension....the Disney Dimension. Hollywood Tower of Terror mode, of as Molly calls it "My worst Fear" (story to follow)

I’m so tired that my eyes are trying to close even though I want to share all the good stories and stuff with you…..

It was Magical :wizard: and great…..details tomorrow I have to go to bed now,

yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me...it's a small world after all...under the sea....Nite nite,

Nan

p.s. you know I’ve had a good time & a lot of it when I tell you I have to go to bed before 11pm, remember I’m the one that will sit here until 1am typing away with no cares in the world….

p.s.s. I missed you guys, came home played with the dogs, opened snail mail and logged on in that order, haven't even looked at email yet...you guys rock.

Bet you are still sleeping... :cloud9:
Tig--way to be productive! I don't know that I could have passed up the shore...
I have sold a bit on ebay. I do find that I get more $ than garage sale. But it is more work IMO. Considering the amount of items I will have for garage sale, anyway. When I closed my scrapbook shop, did pretty good w/ excess stock on ebay.
Marcus' 10th bday today--he's so excited, cuz he gets to pitch this morning. Sure hope he does well! (He doesn't throw terribly hard, but he is usually accurate)
We have Jackson in tow all week--found out Fri. from our sitter that she is on vaca this week (apparently was on newsletters for several weeks prior...
OOPS!) She is an in-home daycare, and has just built a 9000 sq. ft. daycare facility! I'm excited for her, but a bit sad for us. It will be a bit more inconvenient. Hopefully we will have all day kindergarten by fall 2006 (state legislature is pushing for it, and for once our district has been proactive on something, so we should), so we will not need any daycare after May (Hey, that $ is going into our travel budget!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc )
Well, gotta get going!
Bye! :wave2:
Kristin

Welcome Back Nan

Glad to see you had a good time...I'm sure Paul told you he stopped in to give us an update on your trip out...the kids must have been ecstatic once they firgured out what was going on...when he told us Molly thought she was going to the mall at 5am...that was priceless princess:

Hi Kris

Tell Marcus Happy Birthday for me!
:bday: :cake: :thewave:

He's pitching today? That's awesome! My nephew is a pitcher and a catcher on his baseball team.

I lucked out with my kids and kindergarten, I sent mine to a catholic school that offered all day kindergarten...it's such a relief when you can stop relying on a babysitter-as a parent, finding a good babysitter is one of the biggest challenges.

I wanted to try Ebay for my breakable/collectibles...

Most of my lesser items get donated to Catholic Charities (my sis works for them.) These items are high end products and a yard sale/flea market just doesn't yield their true worth.

People are only out there looking for bargains and I'm looking to get a real value for them...

Now that I've moved my PC into the LR at home I should have more time to upload items and maintain my ebay account. Doing this from work just isn't feasible

---rambling complete---
:earboy2:

Marcus :jumping1: :rockband: :cake: :mickeybar Happy 10th Birthday To You!

Hi Nan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We missed you!! :hyper2: I hope you spent the day resting so that you can give us your trip report. Don't leave out any little details!

I've been so busy, stressed out by little things, and trying to remember not to sweat the small stuff! Tomorrow's the last day of school for my Jesse. I feel bad because this will be the first time I've ever worked in the summer, and I hate leaving him. I only work until 1, would be home by 1:30 the latest, and I have to remember he's 13 now, not a baby. He's fine with it, kids me that he can't wait to be able to sleep until noon everyday without me bothering him! That does make me feel a little better. Plus, Chad will be home, in and out through the day, since he works in the evenings. I'm just so used to being here with my babies. I'm sure 'll feel ok about it as time goes on.

And I have to deal with my dad being mad at me. He lives 3 hours out of the city, in the Catskills, and he asked me to buy him Turkish olives and send them to him. He can't get that kind of food where he is. So I kept putting it off, and now today en empty box came ibn the mail addressed to Chad from Papa, with a note asking HIM to send the olives in the enclosed addressed box. OMG I feel so bad! I know what was going through my dad's mind..."the hell with you, I'll ask my grandson to do this favor for me." My dad's a great guy, but when he doesn't get his way... :badpc: <-------insert my head in place of the computer!

Anyway, I have ravioli cooking.
BBL!

Nah! ... It's his way of reminding you that you forgot him...

Aren't Parents wonderful :badpc:

I'll BBL too...

Maybe we can get a chat going later-

I'm back Y'all

Anybody around tonight?

Nan, I got the links...

I wanna post these from my work computer but DH and I may be playing hooky to go to an album release/autograph session for CKY tomorrow :ssst:

Anything you get to me in the next two days I'll post for you on Wednesday.

You too Kris-

If you can get them emailed, I can get them posted....keep me posted ;) pun intended...

A local rock band, CKY

Their new album is being released tomorrow. My whole family loves these guys...since John and I are the only one's home (the kids are in VA til Thursday) we get to go get the autographs.

Brittany has a skateboard deck with CKY on it that John wants to take it for her and get it signed...our hardest mission yet is to find a gold sharpie for the autograph itself.

Sharpie markers are best for autographs-the deck is black so John needs to find a gold or silver marker so the autograph will show.

We went to seven different stores tonight and have yet to find one in stock :confused3

Does she know you plan on doing this?? What good parents you are, no kidding!

I was wondering about the weather at the port in Dec., planning my boarding clothes...again! Will it be tank top weather or sweatshirt weather. I guess I'll do a search, but I thought I'd ask here first in case anyone knows. I've never been to Florida in the winter.

The weather is least predictable in December/January

We've had 80 degree days and 30 degree days in december...plan for both and dress in layers.

My question would then be...

Are the pools heated? :confused3

I just found out about this session yesterday

John promised Brittany he'd get her deck signed about a year ago, the band then lost their bassist and stopped doing public appearances. This is our first opportunity since the breakup...John's gonna call the kids tomorrow and tell them what we're up to :teeth:

Well, I don't know if I am getting much done these days...although I am enjoying a lot of baseball & working on my tan!! :sunny: (gonna need the BAD tanning beds weekly to keep this up until the cruise!)
I am having issues trying to send pics. It insists I use Microsoft Outlook, then MO insists it cannot send it! I'll keep trying. Otherwise you may need to wait to see my beautiful face! princess: (I actually have a really good one of Dan & I from our cruise--I look nice and tan there too! :flower: )
HOT HOT HOT here, still. Marcus has baseball mornings and evenings, and Hailey has Parks & Rec activities in morning, and baseball in eves. (practice, game or attending Marcus's games) SO we have insisted they spend afternoons in A/C. Sometimes we get wet in the sprinklers or pool late (blow up pool ;) )
Well, geuss I'll try to be ambitious!
Bye!
Kris

Kris, I hope you learn how to post your pictures! ::yes::
Productive AND ambitious?? You put me to shame! :o I've been looking into a housecleaner coming in once a week, to do the bedding, the floors (parquet), and then once a month the windows and curtains. We don't use drapes, but billowy sheers, but they have to be ironed before they can be put back up. Once a week doesn't mean I'm getting lazy, does it?? I'm just tired a lot, and I could use the help.

I'm off tomorrow, every Wednesday, and I want to do something special with Jesse. We'll see. I'll let you all in on a little secret place of mine. If you take the ferry over to Ellis Island, there is a peaceful, cozy, area where the crowds don't go, to the side of the Wall of Immigrants. I remember a movie where the guy and the girl planned to meet on top of the Empire State Building, but this place on Ellis Island is perfect, overlooking the river, with wrought iron chairs and a table, trees all around. It's sort of a hideaway for me. Ok, enough of my secrets!!

Has anyone ever done yoga? I was so into it in HS and college, but then just gave it up. I don't mean the spiritual aspect, but the stretching and body control. God, I miss it. I really felt connected to my body, that I respected it more, felt more integrated and whole. And just physically, it made me feel great. I'm not interested in classes at this point, just on my own from what I remember, and I'll let you know how it goes.

Hs anyone started packing yet, in any shape or form??

Kris-I'll work on that for you...

I need to consult the experts tomorrow. It sounds like you need to change your desktop email options to match the program you actually use.

We'll tawlk...

I'm glad to see you happy and enjoying the family

Summer will be over before ya know it...:sunny:

Well, we did it!

After a forty five minute drive and three hours of standing in line...we got Brittany's skateboard deck autographed! Her favorite band CKY was only supposed to signing for an hour they were still signing when we left. These guys are real dedicated to fans, normal kind of guys...almost  For anyone who watches ******* on MTV you would recoginize some of these boneheads. Raab Himself, Brandon Dicamillo and Rake Yaan were there with the band.

We got them to sign the deck for Brittany too.

I took some pics of the guys signing it for her too! I'll prob post them tomorrow.

~Yoo Hoooooo...anybody here tonight?~

I'm here....still recovering from Dland. I can't believe that I'm still so tired. I think you get a buzz that keeps you high when you are traveling then when you get home drop off from the cliff...yawn....

Sounds like you all are having a great start to summer.

Tigg, Awesome story about the board signing.

As, sounds like an interesting place, maybe I'll have to move NY up on our visit list (if you'll plan our touring :goodvibes )

Kris: Don't ya love summer hanging around and having down time at home

Kinder Kamp started today for Wilson, he had a great time.

Molly is on day 2 of her summer school reading program and really happy with her teacher. He is the 6th grade teacher during the school year, so I think it is kinda cool for her to have him as a teacher for the summer program.

We went to the pool today after class, wow it was great. First year for us to join a club, I kinda felt like a real SAHM. Of course we made it out the door 2 hours past my estimate because I was engrossed in work.

Molly and I are watching Average Joe #4 and she is giving me a foot rub. I tell ya having a daughter like this is fab.

Tomorrow nite I'm off to a scrap class at my fav local scrap store...

Okay, I must get to my trip report...(and finish my Giants game report) and go to bed.....

TTFN,

Nan

Hey Aisling: If I never unpack from Disneyland does that count as packing???? And yes, I've already started. I have this huge red suitcase that is being filled with Xmas only stuff. Decoration, stockings (which I bought in Dland last week) stocking fillers. I think I might just start the real packing soon. It is going to be very hard for me....I over pack always. I guess we have to budget in money for laundry service as since I'm a princess: I can not be forced to wash my own on vacation right? :rotfl2: I can honestly tell you all that I don't think I have enough undies to last for that many days with out washing....oh, maybe I should just buy more undies...

Off to clients office to work, my computer is *still* down, :badpc: actually I fried the harddrive and since he (the client) and I went on vacation last week no one bought me a new one yet.... I guess this is really okay, since that means I do data entry only once a week rather than all week long when I have my pc working here.

See ya later,

Nan

 Checking in...

I had a busy payroll day today so I just got to reading last nights posts.

I'll be back in a little while-from home Yay!-to tawlk.

Ais, does it count if I have my KTTW holders and Princess hat "packed" ?

Checking in...
Nan--I do NOT believe in doing laundry on vacation! (I did do some at the shore last summer, but there was a lot more down time there, and I didn't have to worry about leaving laundry in the washer or dryer!) There is TOOOO much to be doing on that ship to waste my time washing! Plus, I LOVE wearing a different outfit each night! (and day... :goodvibes )
Finally had to slow down and do some paperwork this afternoon (re: BILLS!)
Plus got hair cut/colored. I had been doing highlights only in the front, but the back is getting darker, so I had her lighten the whole head...GEE WHIZ! Guess that also doubles the cost!!! And now I think I kinda liked the contrast...DD liked it, though, and now I am looking like a CA blonde!
Errands tomorrow...headed to the zoo in Omaha Fri. If you are ever in the area, this is truly one of the best zoos in the country! Well--shaded, enclosed rain forest exhibit, Desert Dome, Aquarium, plus all the usuals. We are going Fri. as it is finally only going to get into the mid-80s, plus Mom's last weedday off for a while. Looking forward to it--especially w/ my animal-lover, Jack..Then Hailey has swim party that night at local water park. Trying to convince Dan to come, too, and bring the boys--but he HATES to be seen in a swimsuit. Think it is his golf tan!
Well...suppose better get kids snacks & to bed. (not me, them!)
Night! :faint:
Kris

This is the first time I've used Photobucket...

It works real nice ::yes::

I can upload whatever size pic I have (normally I resize everything), It's FREE, I can view thumbnails, click on a photo and scroll thru full size OR have it automatically run a slideshow for me...oh yeah! ... did I say it's Free!?!?!?!
