Thank you mama !
I didn't say anything to you yesterday...

You do look a might bit smaller lately :)

Keep up the good work, but don't work too hard, okay.

Brittany wants the computer back so I'm gonna head up for the night...

Morning Christmas Cruisers!!!!!!!!
Good morning, good afternoon!

I'm in such a good mood today. Work is going great (would be perfect if I got more $$$, but I ain't complainin' ;) ), a woman who has been giving me a hard time has FINALLY been put in her place  , I'm off tomorrow, my house is clean, the weather is just how I like it...not too hot, not too cool, and let's see, what else...oh yeah...I don't have to cook tonight!!!!! :cheer2: Chad's working, Mel is playing tennis late, so Jesse and I will get some take-out. I wish I could always feel this way, but then life gets tough again. I won't think about that; I'll just enjoy today while it lasts!

Tomorrow is my last day with my CCD kids, and we're having a party. I always get a ton of cute little gifts from them on the last day, but I wish they'd all just pool the $5 they'll each spend on a gift and give me the cash!! I know, my bad!! All you teachers know what I mean! I teach this class once a week for free tuition for Jesse.

We're almost at the 6 month point for our cruise!

Jill,
4 days a week skating sounds like a lot!

:cool1: :sunny: :cool1:

I don't have to cook tonight either ;)

actually, DH doesn't have to cook ;)

My family is going to see the Phillies play St Louis (I think) tonight. :cool1:

The whole family! DH, DS, DD & Me!!! It'll be nice to spend a few hours together, you all know how hard it is to get a family night with a 16 and 19 yo

:wizard: It's a beautiful day to get out and enjoy! :wizard:

DS has last flag football game and was going to get pics...wind blowing 100mph (OK, maybe only 30-40--we are under wind warnings!) So enjoy the weather on the east coast!
Tig, Aisling & Jill--FUNNY FUNNY working out/ab comments!!! (as I blew off Jazzercise yesterday since I was STILL tired from slumber party!) And PMS is NOT helping my appetite! GRRRRRRRRR
Computer at school is near dead, I think...only a couple of years old iMac, but SLOOOOOOOOOW internet, making grinding sounds that it has never made before, and keeps locking up. Means I cannot check these boards at school...well, I suppose I ought not be anyway! Actually if it really did DIE, they would probably replace it. Otherwise I simply have to deal w/ it. Know any quick ways to put a computer out of its misery that looks natural...? :badpc: :smooth:
Have a good evening everyone!'Kristin princess:

Know any quick ways to put a computer out of its misery that looks natural...?
:rotfl2: Here in NYC, all you'd have to do is pull out the plug! The dummies at the Board od Ed. would never figure it out! (If anyone here works for the NYC BOEd, no offense! :rotfl: )

Kristin, I was just watching the news, and it showed the winds in your area really blowing wild! Be careful!!!

I have only been to one baseball game (Big league) & that is the only way to enjoy it is live & in person. Nice family deal also.

Tigg, thanks for the complement. :cheer2:

Aisling, my coach doesn't think I skate enough. Especially since States are only a week and a half away.

Kristin, my definition of PMS is - Putting up with Men's stuff while they are putting up with my stuff.

One good thing about being a teacher - 3 months off. I knew one teacher she said some of her students were sooo bad that when they grew up they were in training to come to where I work.

Good night
Jill

Tig, how was the game?????? I think it was a little chilly last night. I was going to see if it was on TV, but then I got distracted by all the Star Wars fans camped outside the theaters. They already have their tickets, but are sleeping on the streets to make sure they get good seats in the theater! The movie opens at 12:01 AM tonight! I'm going to take the kids and go by one of the big threaters tonight to see all the Darth Vaders and Luke Skywalkers. It's going to be a big event here in the city!!

Jill, I went skating a few times, and although if was fun, it was very tiring! It seems like a perfect way to stay fit, with the cardio and the muscle work-out. And you have a coach?? Sounds serious! For the competition, what will you have to do? Is it like figure skating you see on the Olympics? Let us know how the competition goes, it's so exciting. :cheer2:

 Hello there, having another good day I hope :teeth:

Yes, It got very chilly last night, but we dressed for it. Springtime games are usually on the cool side. ... Not of the family, but I got pictures :teeth:

John's company owns these seats, excellent view and on a private concourse...

The view from our seats...

Philly stadiums are very close to each other, to the left is the Wachovia Center (Flyers/Sixers), to the right is the Spectrum (Phantoms/Circus)...the Lincoln center (Eagles) is just out of view farther to the left.

The Marquee...

Action Shot! Phillies running the bases, bases loaded-3 on, 2 strikes, 2 outs...St Louis did manage to catch the ball and deny any runs this inning

We left halfway thru the 6th...DS had to get home to his GF :bride:

:drinking1 Gorgeous weather, but with my excruciatingly slow computer at work, thought I'd check in quick at home....only to find a very nice email from my principal...oh, he was very nice, I'm just ticked...anyway someone crabbing to him that I had not PERSONALLY invited her to a meeting about 2 of her students--EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ON OUR WEEKLY SCHEDULE!. I did realize it at start time of meeting that I didn't touch base w/ her, called her room, but of course she wasn't there. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
I admit I should have touched base, but I forgot, and I believe she had some responsibility here, too. But instead go whine to principal....And again, he was very nice about just being sure to communicate....
Do any of YOU think that is really a problem for me??!! :rotfl:
Anywoo...looks like I am vaca mode...think I'll have a beer to chill out :drinking1
Well, headed out to enjoy the gorgeous day--jealous of baseball!!!!
Enjoy, everyone!
Kristin

Jill, beautiful outfits, very feminine. Putting on those outfits and skating around must make you feel beautiful, so free like a butterfly. Do you wear regular skates or inline? I'm really interested because I think it's something I'd like to try on a regular basis...not competing, but just skating the park. I live close to Central Park and there are always tons of people of all ages skating there, and I keep saying I'm going to buy myself a pair of skates. Now I think I just may do it. I may sound like I'm getting silly, but did you ever skate with your eyes closed? Just imagining it, I can almost feel the sense of freedom. I hope I'm making sense to you!

Tig, cool photos. Very fancy seats! Did you bring your glove?? I love it at baseball games when I see adults with their gloves, so into it.

And Kristin, I wish I liked beer, because I feel like mellowing out this evening, and we only have coronas in the house! Anybody have any vodka with cranberry handy?? :goodvibes

:scratchin Hmmm-Now that is something I havn't tried.
I tried in-lines once. didn't really care for them. Gave them to Tigg. Then I bought a pair of street skates. Not quite right. Gave them to Brit. Took a pair of rink skates & put street wheels on them. Now that worked.

My regular skates (I have 2 pair) One for dance & one for figures. They cost over a $1000 each. I don't do jumps or spins. Too old for that now. I do love skating, though.

Jill :moped:

Well, I surely won't be buying those skates!!! I'll try out some hand-me-down skates!

Tig, thanks for the TR link. I C/P all the TRs into my laptop and read them during the day when I have free moments. I take my laptop with me everywhere I go, so I make sure I load it up with tons of interesting reading every night when I plug into the online.

One thing I hope I remember when we cruise is that going to the debarkation meeting isn't necessary, since all the same info is played on the tv in the stateroom.

From reading so many cruise TRs, with all the mentions of the ships motion, I'm starting to be worried that I or someone in my family might get seasick. I can tolerate pain very well, but nausea makes me want to die. And I just today read about someone who was dizzy for 2 weeks after getting back on dry land! I seriously hope this doesn't happen to me.

I have to go shopping now for some t-shirts for Jesse. He's tall and slim, so the size small men's is up to his belly button and the mediums are longer but are too wide. I used to always buy my kids clothes without them, but now I have to bring Jesse to try everything on. I sold all his too small clothes but I never bought him replacements!

Be back later!

Okay...Payroll is done...time for some DISing :teeth:

Kristin: Try defragging the computer, it takes a long time to run so make sure it can be left idle for an hour or two while the defrag runs. It should be under "accessories/system tools." Mine is due for a good defragging too.

Also the whirring sound could mean your fan is blown. (:ssst: pun intended.) The computer will run hot if the fan isn't working right. Does your school have someone to maintain your terminals or is that all on you to handle?

:confused3

and that teacher that went around you right to the principle is a weenie :rotfl2: She sounds like someone who likes to complain and lay blame on others...only a week or so left...don't sweat it my friend.

I'm not in vacation mode, but I could really use a beer about now...

~I had a gruelingly long day and am so ready to relax~

Aisling: Mom spends that much cause she lives and competes in them, I'm sure you could find skates at your local Target or on Ebay if you're willing to take those hand-me-downs. I'd offer you mine, but they're so old the leather inside the boot sticks to my socks when I wear them...kinda gross.

Inlines require strong ankles, roller skates (IMO) are easier to use. Mom had me in roller skates by the time I was two. I never got into the competition part of it but I have enjoyed roller skating for many many years. :teeth:

I don't take a glove to the game-if the ball comes my way I duck and let others catch it. It's happened...I was sitting on the first bas line for one game, the ball came right at my head so I ducked and the girl next to me caught the ball. Besides, where we sit, right behind home plate, there is netting to stop the ball from coming straight back at us.

I like skating, walking and even sitting outside with my eyes closed-nature is a wonderful thing. My favorite time to do that is when we go to the beach, and we sit out on the deck at night, listening to the waves break--- :cloud9:

My norweigan friend, add a little lime in the corona ya nut!!! Corona is our beach beer, something about the lightness of a corona with a touch of lime that tastes so wonderful by the sea... :smooth:

I print trip reports to take home with me at night...my family giggles at me when I sit down with my "pile" of printouts cause they know I'm reading about Disney...again...

I was thinking about the seasickness issue and plan on taking ginger ale, ginger snap cookies and non drowsy dramamine with me. They say ginger is a natural seasickness remedy...I'm counting on that being true if the motion of the sea bothers me at all. They also say it works better if you get ahead of the sickness instead of waiting for it to hit you and then treat it.

:boat:

Well, it's 6:30, I think it's time to go home...

Happy happy weekend!
Aisling--my neighbor mentioned the defragging thing, too--same on a Mac?
Our computer teacher knows little more than me--to no fault of her own, she was kind of thrown into the job. Actually shutting down each night instead of sleep mode seems to be helping.
Have you cruised before? DH used nothing on our cruise (and was a bit green up front & high w/ moderate waves), but I used the patch the whole week and never had more than queasiness w/ the mod. waves. I'll be using it again--I heard that it is a bit rough on DCL as we leave/enter Port Canaveral. BUT I did find that having a couple of cocktails REALLY helped--you are kind of swaying anyway, so it seems natural! (SERIOUSLY--just a nice light buzz..)
Jill--I am amazed at you; could never ice skate--BAD ankles. That is SOO cool. Interesting thread on the boards about a person at PO told a gal cruising this month that she NEEDS a passport--funny how people get a little piece of info and they are the expert! I am CERTAIN that DCL is on top of this!
Better go do a little work! (only 9 days!!!!!!!!)
Kristin :cheer2:

I was on Disney Direct just now and looky what I found...

It's the same cooler/suitcase Aisling and I have with a different logo-definitely worth $24.99 :teeth:

 I hope everyone is having a good Friday! :grouphug:

Yes, I am told you can defrag a MAC-look in it's system tools, the command should be there.

My daughter, her girlfriend and me are first time cruisers-TBJ booked this last year while she was on the 7 day Disney Western cruise. That one was her, my niece and my sister's first cruise :)

My sister was the only one who got sick on that trip. They were on the "first ever disney 10 day western" last August. The seas were really rough coming back into port and she was in bed all that day :(

I'm into the Buzz and Sway method...where did you get the patch, from your Dr?

TBJ roller skates, no ice...

and I agree with you about DCL notifying us if we NEED passports. I got that info right from DCL...they said "we will notify all cruisers if and when this new rule becomes official. It is not official as of yet."

:rotfl2:
Lime in beer??? I have a feeling I'm going to be learning a few new things on this cruise! :drinking1 ;) :cool1:

Kristin, we've never cruised before, that's why I'm starting to get nervous. I'm also getting nervous about...I can't even say it...loose teens fooling around too close to the rails. All of a sudden, the fears are popping up. I read a TR where a lady said the CMs piled the lounge chairs three on top of each other next to the deck 9 (or10) rail, and her daughter climbed up on it! She grabbed the girl before anything could happen. My kids are older, and I'm not worried about my 19 (20 by then) year old, but I have a sociable 13 year old son who hasn't really ever been out of my sight the way he'll be when we cruise.
About getting sick, I'm just going to make sure we start taking something before the ship starts moving, just in case.
