Well, I booked our Song flight JFK to MCO, $59 one way, for a total of $270 for the four of us. The return flights haven't opened yet, so I'll be checking that soon. And I have time to book that, anyway. I really wanted to get this done, since Christmas is so busy and prices are usually high. This is by far the earliest I ever booked flights. I usually do it 4-5 months before, after watching fares through the year, and grabbing it when they're low enough for me with web specials and such.
I'm not sure why, but I'm feeling a bit of anxiety. I should be woo hooing and being excited, but...I don't know.
Our plans have changed a bit:
We're flying in on the evening of Dec. 23rd, staying at the MCO Hyatt overnight. DH has to work that day, and Jesse has school, so we'll get a good rest that night before the cruise. We leave here at 5:10 and arrive at 8:10.
Then using Southern Elegance to the port early on Dec. 24th. We'll be there when it opens!
After the cruise, we're going right home, not staying for NYE afterall. It's a time issue, as in not having enough of it!
So plans are beginning to solidify. I was thinking of staying at WDW for that first night, taking the free bus to the resort, and the DCL bus to the port. But I think we're better off just staying at the airport and not shlepping the bags to the resort, just keeping things simple. This way, DH (who's name is Mel, by the way LOL) won't miss work, Jesse won't miss school, we'll be there a day early in case of delays, and we can get to the port as early as we want with the limo. And we'll be rested so that we can really enjoy the first day/night on the ship without being sleepy from being up at the crack of dawn to catch the early flight down.
Ok, now that I've analyzed this whole thing to death, I can relax and know I made the right decision according to what's best for us!
Tig, your first-day-on-board plan looks good!
