Christmas Cruise 2005!!!

Well, I booked our Song flight JFK to MCO, $59 one way, for a total of $270 for the four of us. The return flights haven't opened yet, so I'll be checking that soon. And I have time to book that, anyway. I really wanted to get this done, since Christmas is so busy and prices are usually high. This is by far the earliest I ever booked flights. I usually do it 4-5 months before, after watching fares through the year, and grabbing it when they're low enough for me with web specials and such.

I'm not sure why, but I'm feeling a bit of anxiety. I should be woo hooing and being excited, but...I don't know.

Our plans have changed a bit:

We're flying in on the evening of Dec. 23rd, staying at the MCO Hyatt overnight. DH has to work that day, and Jesse has school, so we'll get a good rest that night before the cruise. We leave here at 5:10 and arrive at 8:10.
Then using Southern Elegance to the port early on Dec. 24th. We'll be there when it opens!
After the cruise, we're going right home, not staying for NYE afterall. It's a time issue, as in not having enough of it!

So plans are beginning to solidify. I was thinking of staying at WDW for that first night, taking the free bus to the resort, and the DCL bus to the port. But I think we're better off just staying at the airport and not shlepping the bags to the resort, just keeping things simple. This way, DH (who's name is Mel, by the way LOL) won't miss work, Jesse won't miss school, we'll be there a day early in case of delays, and we can get to the port as early as we want with the limo. And we'll be rested so that we can really enjoy the first day/night on the ship without being sleepy from being up at the crack of dawn to catch the early flight down.

Ok, now that I've analyzed this whole thing to death, I can relax and know I made the right decision according to what's best for us!

Tig, your first-day-on-board plan looks good!

Even better now that I know you'll be there early!

:( I understand why you're cutting your trip short, real life must come first.

~We'll enjoy the fantasy while it lasts~

You'll be woo hooing soon enough... maybe it'll feel more real when you book the rest of your flight plans :confused3

We can start booking excursions in 270 more days! :cool1:

We just booked the Hyatt for 12/23, too!
3x Yay!

okay Franco, your turn!

Does anyone know what time they'll let us into the terminal? I need to know what time to tell the car company to drop us off.

Tig, try to be on the first bus from thr Radisson!

Hi Aisling :wizard:

You can start checking in at 10:30. Boarding begins around 12 -12:15.

According to trip reports the lines arn't too bad at 10:30.

We left Phila. at 10:30 got to the airport at 12 took the bus and got to the terminal around 1. Since there were only a handful of people there we breezed right thru.

I believe Tig wants to check in early.

Jill

Hope this helps :moped:

:cool1: You got it Ladies!

Ais: Mom's driving and an early riser, so I'm sure we can be there by 10:30.

:hourglass

With 11 kids already way too excited for their own good, we will be there at 10:30 with bells on. :cool1:

:rotfl2: HI

There is a new Cruise Line Passporters Guide coming out in a couple of months. Plus the current one is on on sale for 35% off. (Yes Tig -I am ordering a new one)

The new WDW passporters guide will be available soon also.

Hey, it looks like a terminal meet will be a sure thing.

I looked at next years cruise schedule. The Xmas cruise ends way sooner than ours does. I like the way ours is scheduled.

Hehe - I'm still here!!! Been trying not to think about the cruise too much. A watched ship never sails...

Would you believe I never had a Passporter? But for 35% off, I'll spend the few dollars and get one. By the time we've cruised, we'll be able to write our own!

Tig, you seem a bit excited about the meet at the terminal :rotfl: Those dancing bananas kill me! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

you seem a bit excited about the meet at the terminal

Just a little ;)

Our trip just seems so much more real now

besides, I had to do that many smilies! With our three groups there's already 32 people confirmed arriving early with us! :grouphug:

Some DISers seem to like this guy
alot better than this guy! LOL> :dancer:

We got there about 10:30am last time I guess we'll be there about the same time again, we spoke to our first DISer friend Jim at the check in counter and then without knowing it then whilst I looked all over the terminal for my 'DIS friends' my hubby struck up a conversation with him in the line cos he spotted his fish picture. It was really funny me marching back to the line saying 'well I can't see anyone I've been talking to on the boards and I haven't found Jim with his Fish picture and the guys cracking up cos they'd been talking for 30 mins.

As for the non posters Bonnie (Grumpy's Mum), Dawn and Jim are all still sailing that's our group of 13 from Xmas 2003. We had a few more but unfortunately other commitments got in the way.

It's refreshing to see others posting again. :wizard:

We are up to 28 pages. I wonder if we can get 200 by the time we leave?

What say you :rolleyes1

I can help there ;)

I wrote up my preliminary 7 day itinerary for our cruise in December as Franco requested:)

~I should have time to post it later today~

People have been teasing my sister(shelly3girls) and I about "studying" for our cruise. Now that it is getting closer, guess who they are nagging for info.. :smooth:
