Here's one I forgot to mention

Take a small styrofoam ball and hot glue white pom poms onto it --covering the entire ball,,now using 2 medium black pom poms glue on the ears,,(I used glitter black pom poms for the ears but plain black would work just as well.

The teacher in the after school program at our school is going to try it with some of her kids.
They turned out well and would suit a regular sized tree as they finish larger than my baby mickey poms I made in the picture.

Happy crafting

You can also get some cheap doilies from craft stores and Dollar Tree- Cut along the crocheted area that you can snip so that you are cutting it in shape of Mickey Head - then starch them and lay out to dry, and sprinkle w/ "pixie dust" while still tacky wet- "pixie dust" is the term we have alwayys used for it- It is irredescent glitter that is very very fine- You can usually find in the glitter area or in the stampin' section of glitters-
Once dry, attach a grosgrain ribbon at top w/ bow for hanger or you can make your own beaded hanger to attach at top - They are gorgeous!
Ilove the Mickey head antenna topper ideas- Paint and glitter away in various colors! That is too cool!

You can also do Walnut head Mickeys- Use Walnuts as "Head" part and hazelnuts as "ears"- A really nice "earthy" decoartion- to add a bit of color attach holly berries at top of head (Minnie Bow)or directly under center of head (Mickey Bowtie)- You can do this same thing and add a tiny Santa Hat on top (get about 10 in a package at Dollar Tree or craft stores- Sometimes you can find the tiny hats w/ a gold tie/hanger already attached (sewn through inside of hat)
I have many others- This thread is great!

another wee thought guys ;)

why not add to the candy wrappers that telynn has done for i think its your hershey nuggets little santa hats and hang some little disney wrapped candy on your tree

I made some last week and my sons loved the smell in the house -they kept asking are you sure we can't eat those..

Cinnamon Dough Ornaments:
3/4 cup cinnamon (bought at dollar store).
1/2 cup applesauce
1/3 cup white glue (school,)
straw (one)

Mix all three ingredients in a bowl,,consistency should be like that of playdough.
Using hands to mix and flatten small portions then using cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
Using the straw to make a small hole in the shape for ribbon insertion later.
Allow to air dry on some wax paper or cookie racks -or dry in an oven at 150-200 degrees.
I made Mickey Heads ,Trees, Mini Gingerbread kids, Bells, and Stars.

I'll try to post pics later

How long would you leave in the oven? Sounds like fun.

Cinnamon dough decorations
I left mine in for about an hour --then I let them completely dry out before sealing them in a baggie for Christmas.

You could go buy 3 styrofoam wreaths $ tree has them. get one large and two smaller and glue them together in the shape of mickey's ears, might want to carv off a bit of the ears to make them fit correctly onto the head. cover with ribon by wrapping it around them. then take some of your favorite disney pictures, could be vacation pictures, could be clip art ect print it out and cut in 2-3" circles, cut out some solid color card stock circles slightly bigger than your images to glue your images onto so they have a sort of "framed" look, then hot glue them to your Mickey Head Wreath, tie a large loop of ribbon at the top for hanging :)

I went to dollar tree and picked up 1 large wreath and 2 smaller wreaths and used wire to make a mickey head. Then wrap with lights, and decorate with the mickey bells etc. I'm giving these to my BIL and SIL for Christmas (as well as making them for my family!)

Use family pictures from disney to make ornaments (that way you can reminise)

I found this old thread and might use some of the glitter balls in two sizes to make a garland for my Christmas tree. Two of my favorite things to collect are Disney and Hallmark Christmas ornaments, especially the Disney ones.

Here is link to one of my other boards that has a BEAUTIFUL Mickey icon wreath and decorated with lots of Hallmark Disney ornaments. I plan one making one this year, maybe two, since I have hundred of ornaments to use.

And we love going to WDW in December and staying at the Wilderness Lodge. But now that the kids are older it is harder to take them out of school without the school giving me grief.

A Candy Mickey Head Wreath would make a cute door hanger that other guests in your hotel, or on your cruise ship, or if you are a teacher for your classroom door for others to steal/take a candy or two from. When I was in college and lived in the dorm...everyone on my the hall loved the wreath.

Here is an example with just one ring...you will need to make two smaller circles to attach to the larger ring to make this into a "Mickey Head":

mixwreath1-a.jpg

Materials Needed:

2 Wire Hangers
35+ Wrapped Candies per circle (peppermints work great, are inexpensive and are the right colors for x-mas!)
Curling Ribbon
Childs Safety Scissors

Instructions:
Straighten the hanger and then cut it in half using wire cutters (only 1 half will be used per circle). Bend one of the pieces of hanger into a circle shape. Twist one end around the other to secure, leaving about 3-inches of one of the ends free. Bend that end over to form a small circle or hook for hanging. Use a pair of pliers if necessary. If needed you can also use some duct tape to help secure the ends together. Make one large one of these for mickey's head and two smaller ones for his ears.

Use wire to attach the three rings together in the shape of Mickey's head. Although...I haven't made this yet. I'm not sure if you should fill the three rings with candy first them attach them together or attach the rings then fill with candy. If you make this...post which way works better.

Once you have the wreath base made, you can add the candy! You can use any kind of wrapped candy you like, anything from traditional peppermint rounds to suckers. About 35 of them will fill your hanger nicely, but this number can vary quite a bit from person to person because of how close they are tied together.

Cut the curling ribbon into 8-inch pieces. Take 1 piece of candy and tie it to the center of a piece of ribbon. Then, use the ribbon to tie the candy tightly onto the wreath. You can either cut off the extra ribbon or leave it. The ends can be curled to add a nice touch to your wreath. Continue this process until you have the wreath as full of candy as you like.

Then attach some curling ribbon to a child's pair of safety scissors and attach to the wreath so that those walking by can cut a piece of candy from your wreath.

Hang your wreath and a note on your door inviting those that walk by to share the candy!

This is a picture from that thread. This is awesome. I am so hitting the thrift stores looking for little disney figures to glue on.
