Can anyone tell me if you can buy Christmas Crackers in the US - Does Walmart sell them???

I know we can't take them with you because of the minute charge in them but can i buy them out there?

:wave2:

Oh my I'm so glad you mentioned this as I was thinking about taking crackers out to WDW - but obviously I see now that would have been a BIG mistake.

I was thinking of taking them too :(

I am sure I read on one of the threads here that you can't get crackers over there, maybe someone can enlighten us:confused:

Thanks

When I mentioned them before on the DIS, I was asked what on earth I was talking about by American pals!

They are not sold generally although when I explained what they were, some people recognised them, but I think they only knew them from shops that sell British items.

Hi guys - glad its not just me whose a cracker!!!!

I also posted this question on the Theme Park and Attractions forum and got some really positive replies. Apart from one inevitable 'what are they - a brand name?' !!!!!!

It seems we should be able to get some out there.

I was given some links to try:

The bottom one is another forum but it does say that may be able to get them in Walmart......:teeth:

I have some more websites for you to check out - I asked my American pals and here's what they've come up with :)

Pier 1 Imports carries them and they call them English Crackers.

There are 17 locations near Orlando. You can do a store locator here.

Also some Marshalls and TJ Maxx stores stock them - visit www.tjx.com - which will link you to the Marshalls and sites - from there you can search for stores in the Orlando area. Apparently there are several Marshalls in Orlando. It was suggested you call the store ahead of time as not all stores get the same merchandise.

Flo, may I ask who told you that you're not allowed to take Christmas Crackers with you?

I am there for Christmas and I fully intend to take crackers with me (considering you can take butane gas and petrol lighters I was amazed that anyone would have a problem with Crackers!) - I just checked the BA website after seeing your post and found this:-

Am I allowed to take Christmas crackers and/or party poppers on British Airways flights?

Answer

Christmas Crackers
Each passenger is allowed a maximum of two standard-size boxes of Christmas crackers. British Airways Dangerous Goods department prefers that the crackers are packed in your checked hold baggage, but will allow them in your hand baggage if necessary. The crackers must be made by a reputable company and be in the manufacturers original packaging. The crackers must be for personal use only and not for commercial use. No homemade crackers or kits are allowed on board the aircraft.
Note: Any Christmas crackers taken on board aircraft must not be used during the flight.
All items carried on board an aircraft must be made available for all security checks.

Party poppers
Party Poppers are not allowed in hand baggage or checked hold baggage on any British Airways aircraft.

Maybe it's just an airline thing?
