Christmas - CR Tower or WL Woods View

Hi!
Wanted some opinions when going December 7 - 11 as to which would be better - CR Tower or WL with a woods view. Tower is about double and we've stayed there before. Just trying to figure out if it's worth it at Christmas with all we've heard about the Lodge decorations.

I really want to stay at CR. But for twice the money I might think twice. I have stayed at both CR 71 & WL 03. So I do not remember much about CR. But we really enjoyed WL & I have heard the Decorations are the best.

I think you have a tough choice. Mk view would sway me more towards CR.

Well, my opinion is that the decision would come down to convenience versus theming. The Contemporary would be much more convenient for getting to/from MK and Epcot. But the decorations and overall theming would probably be better at Wilderness Lodge. Also, if room size would be a factor, the CR would have the extra room and extra daybed for possibly sleeping 5 or just needing more room, whereas the WL rooms are on the smaller end of the deluxe rooms. Also the Contemporary has a 24 hour convenience food type place if that would be a factor. If all of these issues are small issues for you, then price might be the deciding factor.

I stayed at WL for Thanksgiving last year. Decorations were up at both resorts. WL was AMAZING!!!!! We went to the CR for dinner and well..... if you like a huge wreath on a bright pink wall... I was SOOOOO glad we were staying at WL. Every time we took the boat to and from the MK, we passed CR. It looked blah then when the WL came into view , it was like WOW!!!!!!!! We had a woods view room and could see the fireworks from our room every night (and we were only on the 2nd floor). I vote for WL!!!

We have stayed in both and I agree with everything said. Being on the monorail and the neat view are certainly worth the extra money if you have no money concerns. On the other hand, if you are really into Christmas as much as anything, the decorations and fireplace and northwoods feel and sleigh ride are definitely worth going to WL. The rooms are smaller but we stayed there one Christmas and me and my son would sit in front of the fireplace and sip hot chocolate while my daughter got ready in the mornings and it was perfect. Either way you can't go wrong!

The CR is my favorite Resort in WDW; but at Christmas it's WL hands down. The decorations are great and it just - feels good. We stayed there right around the time you mentioned and it was just great!

Another vote for Wilderness Lodge! I've stayed at both and prefer WL - the fact that it is costing substantially less would make it even more enticing for me!!!!

I think the lobby and pool area at the WL are fantastic but I was soooooooooo disappointed in the rooms. It was a room, plain, plain, plain.

I stayed at both the CR tower and WL just weeks ago....

I would stay at CR tower, period. Go and have dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe and check out the decorations while there.

The convenience of the monorail, the convenience of Chef Mickey, the California Grill and the Concourse Steakhouse, the size of the rooms, and the large bath area......why would anyone stay anywhere else????

I'd vote for WL,but at this point,you may not have that option. I think they're booked. I've called several times,and they're full. We have a room booked at the CR,,but its twice the price. We're excited about staying there,,but i keep calling to see if a WL room is available. It is lovely at Christmas,,last yr we stayed at AKL(same thing,,WL was full)and ate at WCC,and it was so pretty,and they had a handbell group playing in the lobby,then a brass quartet,,we were depressed to go back to AKL. LOL. Good luck!!
