I just read that christmas cards are available at Shutters. Does anyone know the cost? Thanks in advance.

There are a few different Christmas card packages. We ordered the 25-card package for 24.95, and they are awesome! I can't wait to send them out! I think this is the first year DCL has them available. I was going to buy one picture off this cruise and have the cards done at Walgreen's, but now I don't have too. The ones we bought show a gloved Mickey hand holding a Christmas ball, and inside the ball is the family portrait! You can choose whatever message you want..Happy Holidays, Season's Greetings..etc!:D

I hope they still have these when we go in October. Do they have a book or something to show what the cards look like so you know what you're buying? The price isn't bad either. I paid more than that when I got my DDs pics done at The Picture People last year.

Anyone buy these Christmas Cards and if so, can you scan it so we can see.

The picture inside, can yo tell you are on the cruise? Like the pic of the Magic or life preserver one.

OK I can put another $50 down for Christmas cards.

The cards have the 'Disney Cruise Line' logo on every option available. (Good free advertising for DCL tee-hee!)

Yes, you can definitely tell you're on DCL. Our family portrait has us standing in front of the 'Mickey at the Captain's Wheel' statue, with the logo underneath it.

Any of the pictures taken by the Disney photographers can be put on the card. In addition to the 'gloved Mickey hand holding the Christmas ball ornament' there are two other 'beach options' available, though I can't remember the exact backdrops. (Maybe someone can help out here?)

Thanks for posting that picture!! I was wondering how it would look!!! Looks great!

We got ours done in November. They were great. I don't know how to post it. It has Mickey building a sand snowman and says seasons greetings.
It was definitely good advertising on their part. The price for 100 was like 30. Very reasonable.

DrCavin...THANK YOU for posting the pic I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

I really want them. I usually spend about $30 or so dollars for our cards through Miles Kimball. So it isn't that bad a price for 50 cards.

OOhhh.. They look great! I'll have to put some $ away so we can have extra special Christmas cards.

Great picture. Thanks so much for posting this. I will definitely be buying Christmas cards on our cruise!

I did not see these on our recent cruise. They had a cm outside shutters at a table and that is where I paid so I must have missed them. Does anyone know if I can order over the phone?

Anyone know if you can buy the digital file from shutters? My friend did this for a picture with santa and was able to make all kinds of cute stuff with that picture. I know it won't have the fancy stuff around. I mostly want a nice picture with my kids and some of the characters...being that we live on an island the ship and sand isn't that big of a deal to us. Of course if it were snow it would be a different story.

I don't think they use digital cameras. I saw a few times they ran out of film & had to reload the cameras. Anyone else know for sure?

GUNER - I think the company that runs Shutters holds pictures for up to 6 weeks from your cruise. You can try and contact them and see.

The pictures are very cute and if you ask I think you can have them done the last night so, if you choose, you can use the picture they take on CC with the ship in the background as your card or any CC pictures as well for options.

Thanks tons for the information and the visual aid. I guess this means I'm going to have to get our Christmas card list in order sometime in the next 6 weeks.

How long does it take to order? Do you have to pick out a picture at the beginning of your cruise to be able to pick them up at the end? Or do they make them right there on the spot?

Thanks Mickeyhugger

The Cards Look Great..Just what we would like to send out..

Thats another added Expense..hehe

lets see..To Cover the cost of te Christmas cards..Bring an extra 12 pack of beer to the room,,,hahahha

Thanks again

They usually make the cards overnight or within a few hours depending on what time you order. I believe if you get your order in by 5pm they will be done that night. We did ours the last night and got them at 10pm that night. The next morning I overheard the shutter cashier at guest services asking if they had any envelopes as he had runout. They still need about 800 to fill orders.Mind you this was in November so Christms cars were high priority on everyones list. It may not be as bad at other times of year.

I am even more excited now for my trip!!! The only thing I love more than Disney is Christmas (and of course my Dh, dds & fam) !!! Just hope I get a good picture!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:
