:confused3 Is there anywhere I would be able to get a a photo of my daughter for our Christmas cards? I know I can do a snapshot in front of the castle, but there will be a million people in the background. Also does anyone know if I can buy Disney Christmas cards (the kind you slip the picture in) maybe in the Christmas store. And approximately how much? I will need about 50 of them. Is there somewhere to get a professional picture taken that I could make 50 copies? I will love any advice, as I go crazy over this every year. I usually just take her to Target and get the typical cards. I just thought since we will be returning from Disney in October I could come up with something more creative. Please help! :tink:

During our Dec. 2003 trip, I did a picture with my parents at DTD behind the Christmas store. It has "snowmen" type figures of Mickey, Donald, and Goofy and a Merry Christmas banner. We just stood in with the characters. Then we sent it to Wal-Mart and had the Christmas cards made. My mom also took my picture with Mickey, Minnie, Chip, and Dale at Wilderness Lodge on Christmas Eve in front of the big Christmas tree. I had those made into Christmas cards, too!
Hope this helps! Good luck!

We used the posing place outside the Christmas store in downtown Disney as well. It came out very cute!

There is also a "snowbank" in front of one of the sets at the Disney Studios.

Regarding the cards, I use the cards that slip in pictures every year. I usually buy them at Costco, but they are available in nearly every office supply store. They'd be waaaaay cheaper that way that thru Disney. You can make it more "Disney" inside by buying a Mickey stamp (or another character). And, there are Disney stamps at the post office right now, so you could use that.

We too have used the Setting outside the Christmas store at DD. I would also ckeck out the scraping items at WDW, there might be some ideas there. Another budget item would be to buy solid red cards that you can slip pictures into and add disney stickers on the front, Chirstmas ones if you can find them. One thing I did the year we took an early December trip was to make doubles of all our pictures and just stick one into each Christmas card. You can buy disney Christmas cards but I insist on Christian Chritmas cards and have never found disney ones. Any one else found these???
I am pretty sure that you can not copy the professionsal pictures as most are copy righted.

Happy trip !!!!!

If you go to an early breakfast in MK (before opening) the photographers are there and we had photos on our photopass without the crowds. This will work if you plan to buy the photopass CD. If not, you could take your own picture before the crowds arrive. I have some great shots of my kids on an empty Main Street!

We walked around the Christmas store in DTD taking pictures in front of all the xmas trees. We even stuck my daughter in the display of stuffed animals. The CM saw us and laughed. We just made sure we fixed any mess we made when she got out.

How can I take a Christmas picture of my kids at these places in August, when they are wearing summer clothes and sweating????

Almost all my Christmas pictures one year had DS in shorts at WDW and we went in early December. Only one night did we need our christmas Sweat shirts. They were cute all the same. I sent one of DS and Christmas Goofy to an elderly aunt and she called to find our why DS had his picture made with that really weird Santa!!!!!

when Narnia was coming out they had the best winter scene outside abc studios, and we got someone to take our family picture in front of it, we were all in shorts but it was a great pic!
some of my friends use beach pictures of their kids from the previous summer, i thought that was neat, being so cold around the holidays and having a beach picture in the mail to remind me the warmth is only a few months away

We have not been since photo pass. Do you buy the disk straight out and can then print or have printed somewhere like wal-mart at will. What is the cost??

Yes. When we went in January we had 168 pictures on our photopass and we purchased the CD and rights to print it for $99. It was well worth it for us because there were so many pictures and I was actually in the photos with my kids and husband! Photographers were usually with characters, at the entrances to parks and sometimes at focal points in the parks.

I have read on the Dis that some things have changed- like the backgrounds and borders are no longer available, but that doesn't bother me. I like the fact that we can all be together in photos and have a good picture. BTW I have not had any trouble printing from my photopass CD at Sam's Club, Walmart or Target. I do keep the rights with it in case someone would question me, but it has not been a problem so far!

Thank you all for the good ideas. I am sure I will be able to find a good place for the picture. I feel better that I had asked and that some of you had already been down this road!

We all had a great pic taken by Photo Pass people with some characters which we used for xmas cards last year. But until we got home and actually saw those pictures we had decided on using a side view of the castle, which was ALOT less crowded and we got the beautiful stream in the background. Very nice family shot. Now we just have it framed in an 8 x 10. As for cards, I don't know...I looked last xmas for some at DTD and couldn't find any..we went to http://currentcatalog.com and bought about 24 photo frame cards with 4 different designs (snowflakes, red ribbion, green holly, and some other one I can't remember now) for about $8. They worked PERFECT. And the words are written so the picture can go either way in the frame and when the person opens the card it looks like it was made for your picture. I usually get these, they seem to have new designs every year and you can't go wrong with the price.
Good Luck and Have fun!

We used both places talked about. We used the one in DTD for our Christmas pics and it turned out well. Don't go after a waterpark, though. We learned that the first time. We also took a couple at MGM. There is one you can take by a snowman and one on a sled that looks like Christmas. It is really cool. Good luck. :thumbsup2

One of our little "traditions" is to take a picture of our kids in front of the Christmas store at MGM studios....it is by Pizza Planet...we always take their picture and then buy an ornament that you can put a photo into - and we use the photo from in front of the shop! :teeth:

Most of our Christmas photos are taken at WDW since we go every October. We dress the kids in red and green -- shorts, tees and dresses and get photos at the Winter Summerland Miniture Golf course, it's next to Blizzard Beach. We have a great time playing golf and pose the kids at the snowmen and other statues throughout the golf course. The kids help decide which photo to use once we get home.

I have to show off my card that another DIS'er, Gdad, did for me!
Someone took this photo of us at the AKL pool......I had wanted to take a nice Christmas photo while in the parks this past October, but we were just rushing around and didn't get a chance.

The snowman is a nice place in front of the Christmas store in MGM that was mentioned above. I take DDs annual see how I have grown photo there. I don't make XMAS cards out of it, but it is shared with family on line

The photo in my signature is what I am including in my cards for friends and family this year. I was not planning on taking a Christmas photo on Sunday, but we had a private audience with Chip and Dale in Toontown, and I had them pose with her in front of the little tree. I wished she had her Minnie Santa hat one, but she had left it at home! I love the smile - she was having such fun with them it was totally natural!
