I know Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year, and the points are highest. I was wondering since points are so high do members tend not to go at this time, or is it just the opposite? We are thinking of going next year, and were also wondering how difficult iti s to get into the Beach Club or Boardwalk with a 1 bedroom at the 7 month window from a Sunday to Friday. Also we know it will be a busy time in the parks, but for those of you that were there this Christmas how bad were the crowds? What were some average wait times? Thanks in advance!

It will be busy, and may require a day by day reservation. My advice is to book at your home resort 11 months from the checkout day and then try for the BWV or BCV at teh 7 month window.

Christmas is probably the single busiest week at WDW all year. Years ago, DH and I got married on the 19th and took a spur of the moment day trip to Disney two days before Christmas, thinking "Nobody will be at Disneyworld two days before Chrsitmas!" (I grew up in Florida, so, for some reason, it did not seem like a holiday destination to me).

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
About an hour after we arrived they had to close the park. The news at the time said it was the second most crowded day in Disney history! I had no idea.

Wow!!!!

For those not aware, here is the news from the Orlando Sentinel today:

"For the second straight day and third time this week Walt Disney World had to temporarily shut down access to its parks today after they reached capacity. Just like on Wedneday, for short periods, Disney closed the entrances to Magic Kingdom and Disney's Animal Kingdom because they had absorbed all the visitors they could, and diverted DIsney-MGM Studios car traffic to the Epcot parking lots because the MGM lots were full, said spokesman Jacob DiPietre. Epcot was not affected, and everything was back to normal by 3:30 p.m. or so. Disney also briefly closed Magic Kingdom on Christmas."

It is difficult to get BWV or BCV 1BR during Christmas week without the 11 month window.

I went to Florida this year, from the 19th-28th of December, and I waited 11 months on the wait list for December 20th, for a two bedroom, BW view, and never got it. So, yes, it's very busy, and even day-by-day it's difficult to get what you want at BW or BC.:sad2:
