I ahve 2 nights at VWL the week of Christmas. We will be leaving the day beforw Christmas Eve to get back home in time.
I was really excited to get thsi ressie. Looking forward to seeing WL with all the decorations.
BUT... We're about to go for 7 nights at AKl using FTP and I'm thinking my oldest is getting a littel WDW burn out. (We just went thsi past November and May.)
We already have a trip planned for BCV next June for a week. I was planning on using our extra points for 2 nights at VB next summer, but now I'm thinking about cancelling VWL for Christmas and using thsoe poinst for 2 extra nighst at VB instead. Woudl thsi be a mistake? Any opinions?
One problem is I might get severe WDW withdrwal waiting a year to go back again if we do thsi. LOL

Since it is such a short trip, I think just doing the Christmas extras would be a nice change of pace. The Resorts are all decked out, Main Street, MVMCP is wonderful. Things like that.

I would go to WDW........ but then again I have never been to VB

:D

I have been to both places, and there is NOTHING like Christmas at Disney. Talk about magical! It will just take your breath away, even if you are getting Disney burn-out. It is just SO different than any other time of year. My adult daughter is definitely non-Disney, but she was stunned when we went down and dragged her along last Christmas. I have pictures of her, and her expression was amazing--remember the first time you ever went to Disney?? It was like that...definitely go at Christmas;)

Our family prefers longer vacations... much as I absolutely LOVE the Disney holidays (and VWL is truly awesome!), I just don't know about a 2 day whirlwind trip. For me, dh, and my kids (and knowing how absolutely CrAzY the holidays are anyway!!) I would either want at least a 4 day stay (enough time to get in the Disney groove) or I'd save the pts for something else (and not necessarily VB!) Maybe add-on to your June WDW visit? Or split the savings between the WDW and VB trips? Not sure what your kids' ages are -- ours are 8,7, and 3.

We've done "quick-trip" to WDW, and we've done long... we prefer long (7 to 14 days). It is more of a vacation, you actually get to unpack! By spacing trips out a bit, it also keeps the kids from that "burn-out" you have described. Use the to/from travel money you save for a extra nice dinner or treat!

JMO, for what its worth.
