Any words on how SSR is decortated at Christmas? We've been to WL at Christmas and visited all of the major resorts, our favorite is WL, although the GF will flat take your breath away! We also found PO to be very pretty. The only ones that we were disappointed in were the Dolphin and Swan. All of the others were decorated beautifully. The DH and I love taking in the decorations when we're there at Christmas---also, we've done the MVMCP twice and loved it---any advice for friends that will be going in December, two teens, and probably won't be able to do the MVMCP---is Spectromagic "Christmassy" with all the surrounding decorations? Thanks! ::MickeyMo

We were at SSR 12/04. Humm, I'm trying to remember how it was decorated. I know there was a large tree in the main lobby and other decorations. There was a menorah on the front desk. Outside there were decorations all around, garlands, bows, lights, etc. I thought it was very well decorated and very pretty. While it was not as elaborate as some resorts, it still had the Christmas spirit to it.

I'd have to agree w/wscato -- it was pretty at SSR last Xmas, large tree in lobby, smaller tree where the children's waiting area is located, lots of garlands throughout the main building - SSR doesn't have the "lobby punch" that WL does - I think that's because it's not designed to.
(Reminds me more of the lobby at OKW in the sense that it really is just a check in area - not a lot of seating right there. The extra seating is in a separate room on the way to the food area - that was decorated, too.)

I agree with the others. No chocolate carousels or gingerbread houses...but very elegant and more than adequate to get you into the spirit.

However, if you're not staying at SSR, it's not really worth a special trip to visit.
