Christmas at SSR and DTD construction

May book SSR for Christmas time anyone know when the DTD construction is going to start? Any suggestions for those that stayed at SSR before this time of year?

The dedicated DVC resorts are not known for their abundant holiday decorations. The deluxe Disney resorts have the best decorations, GF, WL, BC, BWI, and AKL.

No clue about construction.

However, we have stayed at SSR in December in 2010 and 2011. No, it isn't over the top decorated like some of the other resorts are, but it was pleasant.

That is the lobby tree. I though that I had more decor pictures, but apparently not.

If you like, you can get in on the Christmas tree exchange. We've done it for 3 years now, and it is lots of fun. Last year the tree made it down, even though we didn't!

Trailers are already in place for construction work to begin at Disney Springs. The entire project is slated to take more than 3 years.

Any disruption from the construction work will be most visible from the Congress Park area of SSR. In other more distant sections, you probably won't hear (or see) a thing.
