We will be in Orlando from Dec. 19-26 with our 25 & 24-year old children and their significant others. Have never been to Disney over Christmas. What are the "can't miss" things we need to do? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I love christmas in disney. Especially all the hotels and decs. I love to spend one day just hotel hopping and checking out all the festive atmosphere.

The Candlelight Processional is a "Must Do"! This takes place at the American Gardens in Epcot. Special guest narrators read the Christmas story while a wonderful choir sings. It brings tears to my eyes it is so inspiring. There is no charge for this, however you can purchase a CP Dinner package. People with this package choose from a tier of restaurants. Dinner, beverage, tip, and tax are included. You then get to line up in a separate line which is let into the seating area first. These dinner packages went on sale 8/25. Don't even think of doing Christmas at WDW without experiencing this!;)

when does the candlelight processional take place? Is it every night or just one night?

We arrived at epcot too late to get a seat in the ampitheatre for the candelight processional, but we got some food from the liberty inn restaurant across from the theater and could listen to the reading from their litte sitting area out front. We couldn't see very much however. The reader for that week was Gary Sinise (Lt. Dan from Forrest Gump).

This is just an alternative if you don't wanna fight the crowd in the ampitheatre.

Enjoy it is a great thing to see.

I agree the Candlelight Processional was extremely inspiring even my twin 10 yr. old boys enjoyed it. Also do not miss the Osborne Lights at MGM.

You will love the holidays at WDW. It is extra magical. Here are some suggestions.

1. CP Ok this has pretty much been covered. I would do the dinner pkg. IT is worth the $$. Call now to book your reservation.

2. Visit the resorts. They will all have decorations that correspond to their them. EAch is different so tour a few in a day. At the GF starting at 5pm CMs carol in the lobby followed by the pianist and band who play the traditional carols. We have gone a little early for tea or to just sit in the lobby and have a drink enjoying the atmosphere. They have a huge gingerbread house as well that sell fresh gingerbread. You might even get to taste the roasted chestnuts.

3. Take the Yultide tour. We did this one year what fun. We toured three parks, a resort, discussed the various holiday traditions, how WDW decorates and then topped it off with a tour of the xmas warehouse. It was soooo fun! wdw-tour

4. MK Flag ceromony & tree lighting. The flag ceromony occurs everyday in town sq at alongwith the natil anthem. Want to get a lump in your throat this will definitely make it a occur. Then right afterwards they have a cute little show at the train station and then light the park xmas tree.

5. Check out the tree lighting and lighted bridge at EC. The arched lights over the bridge move along with the music. I could stand there for hours.

Unfortunately, they have cancelled the Osbourne Lights for this year:mad: But I have been told Epcot is the place to be! Experience Christmas in every country! Does the candlelight processional continue in the week after Christmas?
