Hello All! I am new and excited to be here! I have a few questions for a Disney expert! I am bringing my family to Disney 12/28-01/02. Need suggestions as what is a MUST see and what to anticipate during a holiday week! My kids are 10, 9, and 21mths. Help!!!!

I'm not an expert, but I have been to WDW at Christmas (2007). The best advice I can give is to subscribe to TourGuide Mike. He gives great suggestions on how to travel to Disney at busy times such as Christmas. His tips were amazing and I would never travel again to Disney at Christmas without it.

It is a beautiful time to visit WDW! :santa: It is also going to be very crowded, so plan your days carefully and make your ADRs asap, because with it being a very busy time, you may have a difficult time finding any sit down restaurants at the last minute. A definate not to miss is the Osbourne Spectacle of Dancing Lights at MGM (Hollywood Studios) and the lighting of the castle at MK.

:welcome:

The best piece of advice is to prepare yourself for the very, very heavy crowds. The week between Christmas day and New Year's is the single busiest week at WDW. The parks are known to close early due to crowds reaching capacity levels. As long as you know you have to get there early and use fastpasses as much as possible, it will make your trip go much more smoothly. Also, you must, must, must make your Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) if you want to eat at any table service/sit down meals. If you have not done that, I would start calling today, right now and ask what they have available for your dates. We will be there December 12 - 21 and we can hardly wait! Hope ya'll have a magical vacation!

We were there last Christmas (2007). We got to see and do so much, I credit that to the fact we set about getting to the parks early. We all got to the parks just after opening and the crowds were not bad then. We seemed to get all we wanted to do and see by the time our ADR's rolled around we were in need of a rest. Since our kids were 15 yrs and up, usually after dinner, hubby and I would head back to the resort and the kids stayed a bit longer. Some days we stayed longer and saw some of the night attractions. The parks seemed to be so much more crowded then. Also one thing we did was hit the things like Test Track, Soar'n, Tower of Terror etc early or get a fast pass. Usually the kids would head to the faster rides, then get a fast pass upon exit so they could return later for a second time at the ride. Sometimes we sent our Key with them so they could also get a fast pass for us and we all returned together. I have trouble walking and can not do the wilder rides, so this worked out well for us. Basically, head to the parks early and once in head to the "have to do" rides first. Then we usually headed left when going thru the parks while the bulk of people headed right.

Have fun!
