My hubby gave me a great gift this year, a trip to Disney World next Christmas. :cool1: I was watching this show on the Travel Channel that showed a special after hours parade at Christmas at Magic Kingdom. :santa: Does anyone know when this parade may be and how much are the tickets? It said something about this parade only being for 12 days and called it an extra event ticket. I don't want to miss this event at Christmas. Any assistance with this would be great. :flower3: Thanks!

The only limited event I know of during the Christmas holidays is MVMCP. There is a parade and fireworks. It's held from 7:00 p.m. to midnight on selected nights from late November through Christmas. The dates for the 2007 party may have already been released but tickets usually don't go on sale until May (I think). Adult tickets are usually +/- $35.00. The park closes at 6:00 on party nights so you'll have to have a party ticket to attend. Hope this helps.

We just got back yesterday and we went to the MVMCP and we were there for christmas the parades and the shows actually are free on Christmas eve and day. So if you were doing party for those I wouldn't.

What else happens on Christmas Eve? Day? at any of the parks?

So if you are going to be there on Christmas Eve/Day would you plan on going to the MVMCP? Or will it be all the same things? Do they do the "Snow" and hot cocoa on Christmas Eve/Day?

I'll be there next year. :cool1: That's why I'm asking.

Yes they do have the snow on Main street but they did not have the hot chocolate. The parades and shows were the same as the MVMCP however depending when you go to the party you may find it less crowded at the party then on christmas day or eve.

Okay, here's a little updated info. We were in WDW for Christmas (DD, DH and me). It was a wonderful trip and I highly recommend it for a special Christmas event.

We went to MVMCP on 12/22 (the last night they offered it). It was also a SOLD OUT night. Although we could have arrived at the MK by 4:00 and used our tickets, we didn't arrive until about 6:00 p.m. (eating prior to going to the MK). We were given our wrist bands when we entered the part and herded over toward Tomorrow Land until 7:00 p.m. It was raining lightly but didn't deter us. We took the opportunity to go on as many rides as possible during the first parade.

We went to the Haunted Mansion and it began to pour....when we came out it was still raining quite heavily but after about 10 minutes it stopped and didn't bother us the rest of the night.

We caught the parade in Frontier Land and continued to do some rides -- we were able to do most of the rides during the first parade. We then settled in for the fireworks and second parade.

It was a very magical night and the crowds were very tolerable -- except right after the fireworks....I suggest you just find a spot and hang out until crowds that are choosing to leave (usually families with very young children) exit...then make your way through the park.

As soon as I can figure out how to post photos, I will do so with a trip and dining report.

You will love a trip to Disney at Christmas!!!!

If possible, you might want to go to WDW in the first couple of weeks of December instead of on Christmas itself. Why?

1) They still have MVMCP, all of the decorations are up, etc.

2) The crowds are MUCH lower! On Christmas, most of the parks are totally full before noon, and crowds are crazy! The first few weeks of the month are much slower.

3) It's much cheaper to go earlier in the month! The beginning of December falls into "value" season, while Christmas falls into "peak". This can be a big deal if you're staying on property! A $200/nt room during value season can be $400/nt during peak!

4) The same thing applies to airlines- the dates around Christmas are considered "peak travel dates", so flights are much more expensive.

My DH and I will be at WDW in December. :santa: Does anyone know when I can purchase our MVMCP tickets? We want to make sure we get the date we want.

I need to know this too! just started another thread. When i searched, I only found 2006 dates. I am going to ask our AAa agent on monday as well.

We were there from 12-22-06 until 12-27-06.
All I can say is, I'm so glad that wasn't my first trip to Disney because I don't know if I would have went back. It was very crowded and rained almost the whole time we were there.
But it was the first time we were at Disney on Christmas Day (our oldest turned 15 that day!!!).
The parade you see on TV around the country is not what goes on that day. It is actually taped a few weeks before.
Mickey's Party ended the 22nd so we didn't get to do that this year. I would reccomend going before Christmas in time to do that party. We did it a previous year and loved it.
We were there this year for the Halloween Party in October and I must admit that I liked Halloween better than the Christmas party.
But everyone sure made my 15 year old feel like a million bucks. He received free snacks and drinks at different spots all day on his big day. Plus was sung to by many CM's and guests. But the highlight was the group of teenage girls that all yelled "Happy Birthday Jeff" as we entered Rock N Roller Coaster. A moment to remember forever. Thank you girls, it sure made him smile all day.
