So much for my good night sleep! :( Our room was really noisy! It sounded like a shower had been left on in the room above us and now the pipes were shaking and making "banging" noises. We phoned the lobby in the middle of the night but nothing was done. I slept maybe 2hrs that night but dh slept most of the night. He can sleep through anything! This morning, we phoned the lobby and asked them to do something about the noise. I was a little nervous how I'd feel that day since I didn't have much sleep. Thankfully I got caught up in everything Disney and forgot how tired I was! Off to Epcot!

Although we had been to all 4 parks, we still had missed many rides/shows in all the parks. First stop was the Land building. We got a fast pass for the ride again and went to the show Food Rocks. We love reading the little trivia facts on the wall before you enter the show. We learned that a stalk of celery is put in caesar drinks because it was thought to be a hangover remedy! Who said Disney isn't educational! ;-) After Food Rocks, we went upstairs and saw the Circle of Life show. We think it's really well done. It really motivates you to try to do more for the environment. By now our fast pass window had opened for the ride, so we went on it again.

One of dh's favourites in Epcot is Cranium Command. He has to see it each trip! What a fun show. It's funny - I've been going to Disney since childhood, but until I married dh, I never knew cranium command existed!! I had been missing it all those years. We've really loved the Liberty Singers this trip so we decided to go watch them again before heading to the Magic Kingdom. After walking all that way, we discovered that the Liberty Singers were cancelled AGAIN! It had already happened earlier this trip. We were disappointed because we didn't have time to stay for the next show.

We took the monorail to the MK where we had priority seating at Liberty Tree. We had a terrific meal here. A nice thing about having a late lunch is that the $$ is better but also it's not so busy. We didn't feel a need to rush. Right after lunch, the Share a Dream parade was going by the restaurant. We stayed to watch it. The children around us were just enthralled! Next, we went back to Tomorrowland for our favourite rides. I had to do Carousel of Progress one more time because it was closing the following day. We tried to go on Space Mountain but it was broken down. Oh no! It was our night for MVMCP and we really wanted Space Mountain to be open. We did Buzz again and then headed to the castle to pick up our wrist bands for MVMCP. At 4:00pm they said you could pick up your bands.

We hadn't been to Frontierland yet this trip, so we went to Thunder Mountain. I had read somewhere that if a ride breaks down and you have a fast pass for it, they'll honour your fast pass on another fast pass ride. Sure enough, it worked at Thunder mountain! They took our FP for space mountain which was a good thing because the line was very long! Next comes the part of the trip I will NEVER hear the end of! ;) Splash Mountain is one of my favourite rides in the MK so I wanted to go on it.......despite the cold and the possibility of getting wet. Dh resisted, but I peservered. I said that we likely wouldn't get that wet anyway. FAMOUS LAST WORDS!!! We were put in the front seat of our log and there were only children behind us. Sooo, the major "weight" of the log was in the front. We both got soaked and our hair was all wet! Okay.....normally we wouldn't care BUT, we were getting our picture taken for MVMCP AND it was already quite chilly outside! I thought it was pretty funny but dh had other ideas! ;) I promised to "buy" him a hot chocolate later that night during MVMCP! hee hee We decided to try and dry off by watching the Tiki birds next. Cute show.

We were meeting friends at the tree lighting ceremony on main street so we had to quickly get there. We JUST got there on time. What a nice show. The costumes and music were lots of fun. It was great seeing them turn on the tree. This tree is one of dh's favourites. After the ceremony, we all started walking towards Tomorrowland. Sure enough, we were almost FIRST in line for our picture. We had perfect timing. Later that night, we saw great big lines for pictures. Space Mountain had indeed reopened so we went on it twice in a row. We went once to the left loading side and once to the right loading side. We're both convinced that the two tracks are NOT identical. Both are fun, but maybe one is a little better?? We went on Buzz again with our friends and dh LOVED showing off his skill! ;) We went on the TTA just before the Lake Howell Holiday brass show began. The show was good. The young people were really getting into it and had pretty fun dance moves.

Next stop was the Wild West Christmas Show at the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon Revue. We got some free hot chocolate and cookies before sitting down in the saloon. This show was REALLY funny! They have lots of audience participation and the little girl the "magician" chose to help him out, was priceless! Her reactions were just perfect! After laughing and singing a few tunes, we went to get more hot chocolate (it was cold!!) and went to watch the first parade in the Liberty Square. Our priorities for tonight were to see all the Christmas shows and parades that we had never seen before b/c we've been on all the rides before. The parde was absolutely terrific! The toy soldiers were my favourite. We decided that we liked the parade so much, we would go see it again on main street (with the falling snow!).

We then went to the front of the castle to watch the fireworks. We kept taking turns getting hot chocolate. It was sooooo cold tonight. We could see our breath and even with mittens, hats and coats, we were still very cold. I couldn't believe I was feeling this cold while standing in the Magic Kingdom!! One bad thing about going to the first MVMCP of the season is that there will inevitably be some kinks. Well, tonight's kinks were with the fireworks. They tried to start the fireworks 3 times but there kept being technical difficulties. They didn't know when the fireworks would happen so we continued to wait for them to start. Finally, they decided to go ahead with the show at the castle called "Celebrate the Season". We were then wondering if the fireworks were cancelled for the night! We watched the show (which was very good) and then went to see the parade on main street. We had been waiting for over an hour for the fireworks. The parade was great the second time too, but there were kinks. I'm sure by now, the parade is in tiptop shape. We still really enjoyed it though. While watching the parade, there was an announcement that the fireworks would be on at 11:45pm. Yeah! We had planned on doing some rides and other shows after the parade, but now we decided to go back to the castle and wait for the fireworks.

As you can see, we did a lot more waiting than usual! We just kept thinking that if we left, the fireworks would go on! But anyway, the fireworks DID go on and we saw Rudolph fly! What a terrific fireworks display - even better than Fantasy in the Sky. So much to absorb! We didn't end up doing everything we wanted, but I think we did get a very good "feel" for MVMCP. On another year, we'll not to on the first night. We did some shopping on main street before leaving. It was too cold to walk down main street anyway, so it was nice checking out the stores.

I was very relieved to find I was able to enjoy the day with such little sleep. We took the bus back to the hotel where I crossed my fingers the noisy pipes would have been fixed!!

Thanks for your trip reports. I really enjoy reading all the details. It makes me wish I were in WDW too.

Hope those pipes got fixed!

It's obvious that you're having a truly magical time -- I'm really enjoying reading it.

BTW, you're right about the two sides of Space Mountain being different rides.

I hope your DH took it easy on you for getting him soaked!!:D
