how easy is it to get a 2 bedroom standard villa at 11 months for Christmas? Do I need to walk the Dessie and if so how far ahead? Thanks!

Pretty tough for a standard view. Lake view is easier.

I don't think you need to walk it. Dedicated two-bedrooms tend to be available for a while. The higher points requirement for the holiday work to your advantage.

You have a chance but it may depend on how fast your computer communicates with Disney's at 8 a.m. in relation to others. 2BR standards, both lock-off and dedicated, tend to disappear quickly Christmas week. Walking should be considered but you may have like problem finding a day to start walking because it appears many are doing it. For 2016, days during the week before Christmas disappeared quickly at 8 a.m. but four of them, Dec 19 through 22 had opened up again by the time you got to 11 months out from December 25. If considering a long walk the time to start would likely be the Sat or Sun after Thanksgiving. Lake View and Theme Park view had no issues at 11 months out.

I don't mean to high-jack this thread, but I have a similar question. Does this logic hold true for studios at BLT over Christmas? Or do they go faster? Slower?

It is standard view rooms (not others), with a risk for all sizes Christmas week. The dedicated 2BRs disappear because of those actually seeking a 2BR, the lock-off 2BRs disappear because they are the studios.
