Christmas all year long!

:woohoo: For apple juice and GAS...who would think these 2 things would be cause for celebration (usually I would be giving someone the  face for passing gas).

I bet that was the best apple juice she's tasted! :goodvibes I know passing gas in her scenario is a big deal so :woohoo:!!

Sorry about the rough night, fever, and OUCH on the pelvic cutting. Bless her heart and mama's!

So sorry to hear that you had another rough night! Lots of healing pixie dust on the way for both of you. :wizard:

:dance3: Hooray for apple juice!!!!!!!!! I hope Zoe's spirits remain high, and you are both able to get a bit of rest. Sorry that they had to cut through the pelvis.

 Hugs to you and Zoe. I am sorry to hear everything that she has had to go through. I will be keeping you both in my prayers.

Zoe is doing a lot better today. So much better that it looks like she will lose the epidural today and the iv...cause.... She gets to EAT!!!!!!! We had a very messy incident yesterday that has moved up her recovery schedule. Remember it was thought that she would start to pass gas today...so no one thought that she would need a diaper...and since she has the epidural she had no idea that thing were moving :rolleyes1

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers! It is working!!

Ann, this is wonderful news!!!! You must be feeling much better about how Zoe is doing. We will continue to send prayers and

and for your whole family for that matter! I cannot imagine what you all are going through, especially cute little Zoe. She is a very brave little girl. I'm so glad that she's feeling better today and that she gets to eat!! Wow I cannot imagine how that must feel. She can look forward to her dream vacation at the end of the year! I know you must all be looking forward to that too!

 Ann, I've been out of touch for a few days so I missed your surgery day.

You and your family have been in my prayers daily. I'm so glad that surgery is done and recovery is happening, and even quicker than anticipated. :) What a trooper Zoe is.... I'm thinking that Disney vacation is a great way to be celebrating a full recovery :goodvibes

Praying that Zoe is able to eat and drink really soon. Any idea on when she might be released from the hospital?

Zoe had a wonderful night. She slept throguh it! Which means that I got to sleep too. I think we are both still much in need of more sleep... But last night was definitely a great start.

To answer Laura ,I think Zoe will be here a few more days.

Wonderful news about Zoe - eating, sleeping - Woo Hoo!!!!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::banana::dance3::woohoo:

Not a lot to report. She is still on iv antibiotics.. But they are trying to get her off the iv so that she can go home. What to do about the remaining doses of antibiotic is what they are debating. They have unhooked her from the pump except for those doses. They tried this a couple days ago and it didn't go so well and Zoe ended up needing a new iv placed. She is eating fine but maybe not drinking quiteenough. Being on the ivfliuds compensated so we will have to see how today goes with her output. Gutting up and walking is still quite the challenge so they are sending in a physical therapist. If all goes well and they figure out what to do with the antibiotics, she could go home tomorrow. This in many ways is great news. However, despite how much I would like to eat, drink, shower and sleep normally... I donte want to rush getting her home. For one... There is the issue of her not walking yet. She is super wobbly. Two, there is the issue of all her tubes. I know she will go home with two...but if she goes home today..or even tomorrow...she would likely still have a third tube. Third there is the issue that we are 1 to 2 hours away. Last, there us the issue of our insurance. If we stay one night ot ten... We have the same copayment.. So remember our one night stay a few weeks ago...yup I got billed the full copayment for the surgery. If we came back we would have another one. So I want to make good and sure that she is ready to come home

Ann, I hope they don't rush her going home. I would certainly hope that they would wait until she was a little more stable on her feet and perhaps drinking more fluids. I continue to think about you daily and keeping Zoe in my prayers.

Glad to hear that things are improving with Zoe. I hope they let you stay until you feel Zoe's truly ready to go home.

So glad to see all of the recent updates! :goodvibes

I hope they don't rush her home, either. Do you get any say in that? Even if it's just one or two more nights... would be great to finish up antibiotics there as well as get the extra tube out. You make very valid points. :thumbsup2

I would not rush them sending her home, especially because she is shakey walking. Since they have sent in the physical therapist, is there a way to speak with them and see if they will side with you that it would be a danger to send her home without strengthening her legs up again?
