Why is it so hard to book the first week in December?

First two weeks of December have always been popular with DVC Members. It's low points and all of the holiday events are in full swing.

It also is when the Merry Mixer used to happen, which got some owners in the habit.

Very hard time to book, especially if you are trying for hard to get rooms.

I got shut out of my RIV SV studio already.

i missed the SV at VGF but there are worse things than staring at the lake during the holidays ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There are statistics that have been shared elsewhere online (I think a blocked site) that show it can be easier in a lot of resorts to book the end of December vs. the beginning because of the point hike (and also I'm sure some people have no interest in the crowds).
