Christmas 2020, would you go if you got a PIN code?

Nope. I wouldn't go over Christmas in a normal year because of the crowds, but this year especially. I've only ever been as late as the 23rd and it was way too crowded to be enjoyable. A couple weeks before Christmas would be ok.

Just read that WDW Christmas decorations will be up from November 6 to December 30, 2020. Castle will not have lights and there will be no gingerbread displays at any of the resorts just to name a couple. They are supposed to have pop-up Christmas floats etc. though so that's a plus.
DH and I will be at YC first week in Nov...leaving on the 6th. We must be grinches, don't care to be there during the holidays. We were at WDW 2 years ago the second week in Nov and it was HOT. Hearing Christmas music, in the heat, during F&W was depressing.

Have the 40% AP discount not a PIN code, but yeah, we are planning to go. I'm trying to figure out if we want to do Universal and how many days where before I book. But this will be our 3rd trip to Orlando since stuff started reopening, so I'm not really afraid to go.

Oops, just saw your deal was package booking, so the specifics may be different than on the room-only pin circulating right now. Good luck!
No, you’re totally right, it’s a room booking pin code. It would save us about $500 versus not using it at all, so it might not be the greatest savings ever, but when I get a PIN code (this is my third time in 14 years, it’s not like I’m getting them all the time) 🤣 I get soooo excited and want to use it.
Guess Disney knows how to get people to book!🤣

I read that too just today and am definitely bummed. I really wonder how covid is related to NOT putting holiday lights on the castle? I’m not trying to be sarcastic, I’m really wondering!

I'm wondering if they are not going to be keeping hours somewhat limited. They are going to have the light projections on the castle at "dusk", I think I read, but if they aren't planning to stay open very late after dark falls, there's not much point to the extravagance and financial expenditure to put all the lights up and take them back down after the season if they'd only be lit for an hour or so, for example.

Not Christmas, but DH and myself are going the last week of October. We are getting a Florida resident discount. We had three trips cancelled this year and are desperate to go anywhere. Too bad I can’t use all of my Delta airline refunds at Disney, LOL. As much as I hate masks, I am determined to deal with it just to get away from home.

Yes!! We took advantage of an amazing Boulder Ridge deal in August. We enjoyed a resort only trip. Resort hopping, Disney Springs, dinning, shopping, pool days all day everyday, poolside activities, tye dye, private fishing trip given to us by an amazing CM. We took pictures in front of Magic Kingdom, rode the Skyliner. I have to admit we did not visit one park because I am not spending the money until the fireworks and Dapper Dan's return and this was my favorite Disneyworld trip ever. We needed the get-away and it was still very relaxing and magical. I am not fearful of the current goings on because I read the facts and the numbers available. Things with travel and Disney have never been more organized, clean and amazing! Nobody does it better than Disney!

The answer is Yes and I'll do one better we are going for Christmas and New Years as it will be our 14th year in a row!! Pin code or no pin code virus or no virus we will be there can't stop my crew!!
Its better than staying home....:thumbsup2

Yes, if I received a pin code and could afford to go, I'd go in a heartbeat. We moved our Spring Break trip to Christmas and I can't wait to get there!

Nope. Not going on vacation or to Disney while covid is still an issue. Even if you think Disney is 'safe' (however you choose to define that) you still have to travel by car/airplane to get there and interact with a lot of other people. Covid is just as highly contagious as it was in March/April, so nothing has really changed to indicate we are over this.

DD and I weren't planning to go back until October 2021 (haven't been since Christmas of 2017) but I did receive a pin code email and couldn't pass it up. Airfare was crazy cheap with Southwest ($56 1 way) so I jumped on it and booked our trip for Christmas week. I think there will still be plenty to enjoy at WDW, even without the castle lights, parades, parties, CP, and fireworks. We've gone at Christmas before and did enjoy all of the things that will be missing this year but our expectations are different for this trip because the world is different now and that's ok with us. I'm not at all afraid to throw a mask on, hop on a plane and head to Disney because I know that we'll still have an amazing time. There will still be alot of festive and fun things to see and do, even without the big ticket holiday attractions.

Covid, masks, limited capacity, limited events.....but just received a code for package booking through December 24.
Thinking about booking December 23-30. Has anyone been there during Xmas? Going to reserve MK for December 25 if we go.
I realize all the unknowns involved and that this year will be completely different than all other’s experience in past years, but just looking for opinions and tips and any advice before I book.
Yes, we went most recently just last year. I think if you have the desire and shape your understanding to the limitations and restrictions you will be fine. Reservations control the crowd size, so you should not see the normal Dec 25 MK packed park. Just ensure your expectations are aligned to what is scheduled to be offered as many things will not be offered this Christmas Season, while other things may remain closed. Overall, we would pass, based upon what we enjoyed last year during the Christmas time period (I.e., parades, party, processional, gingerbread, fireworks, etc.) are not being offered this year from what I have read, even though I perceive the crowds will be a pretty good plus factor this year, we also agreed, there is no place like home for Christmas. Have fun if you decide to go as Disney provides the place, but the magic is actually in you :)

I would go in a heartbeat! In fact, maybe I should start planning a trip...hhmmmmm....::yes::
I've never wanted to go for Christmas because it's WAY too crowded. But this year, it's almost guaranteed to be lower crowds than ever due to the capacity limits that are in place. The experience will be different due to them not having everything going, but I think it would still be an amazing trip!!

Nope. I wouldn’t go. In fact, I recently cancelled a 9-night stay at the beginning of December because I’m a little bit irritated that Disney is charging full-price admission for a half-price experience. I have an 8-night stay coming up in October and I’m seriously considering making it a “resort-only, meals in the villa” stay because even the dining options are rather pathetic. I’m only going because it’s a family get-together that had been booked a year in advance.

We were set to go the week of Thanksgiving and mostly excited (we don't watch parades or fireworks--so thought no big deal). However, this week's announcements of no candlelight, castle lights (projections instead), and no gingerbread houses at the resorts, etc. We are now questioning our decision.

Scheduled to stay at the Contemporary where we normally stay, but just heard that the monorail is only running on the resort loop, not the Epcot loop. Sigh.....

Someone help me justify this trip :rolleyes1

Hahahahaha!
I had to double check and make sure I didn't write this and forgot. We booked 6 months ago and nothing we wanted to do is available which included our favorite restaurants.
