When and where will I find the best prices for flights or flydrives

For flights you can check places such as..

www.airlinenetwork.co.uk
www.opodo.co.uk
www.expedia.co.uk

I would start looking about now but be aware that some airlines haven't released their flights for these dates yet. For example Virgin will anly allow you to book 337 days in advance of your return date.

You might have more success booking now if you try to find a fly-drive with a tour operator, but it's worth comparing the prices against flight only + car hire to make sure you get a deal you can be happy with

I just baught mine from BA sale other day...one adult and two children cost GBP 979.90 for Dec 1st - 15th

Never flown BA before!!

Hi, We booked with airtours on Saturday, flydrive, leaving on 15/12 and returning 29/12 and for 4 adults 1 child and 1 infant it came to £2850. oh and that was from gatwick.

It was the cheapest around that we could find

We are also looking to go next Christmas but I'm not prepared to pay the prices I'm looking at for going before Christmas.

I did find a flydrive with Virgin flying on Christmas day for 10 nights with an I4 car + insurance for £2100 (2 adults,1 teen + 1 child) which I reckoned wasn't bad but I would have had to get to Manchester and DH doesn't want to drive down at that time of year (connecting flights were ridiculously over-priced according to the travel agent). Not sure how he got that as I couldn't see availability on the VH web-site.

In order to get a reasonable price I reckon you need to go before 9/12 or after 24/12. I'm waiting for the Christmas prices to become available on scheduled flights which will be another couple of weeks I reckon.
