OK ... So I need some advice.. When do you all book flights for Christmas... It looks like we will be able to fly out the night of 12/22... I found a flight for just over $200 but it is on US air... I am a little leary of this.... The next cheapest flight I can find is around $267 which is close to what I budgeted for ($250)... I know it is early, but I don't want to wait until prices sky rocket either....

HELP!!!

I'm assuming that's $200 per person? I've never flown around Christmas, but that sounds like it might be about right for that weekend. Still, I think you have plenty of time to shop and decide.

Personally, I would never book a flight this far in advance. A lot can happen in the 9-10 months between now and then. US Airways is still shaky and could be gone by then.

Not only that, but the airlines usually change their flight schedules every 3-4 months or so, and usually don't inform passengers who have booked far in advance. Your departure time could change to an hour later or earlier, it could change to 4 hours earlier or later. People have posted about that here quite often.

If it were me, I wouldn't start looking until sometime in October, maybe the second half of September at the earliest. If Southwest is an option, their schedule for December probably isn't even out yet and definitely would by then.

It is never to early to book Christmas :goodvibes :goodvibes
I booked LGA/MCO 12/23 on SONG for 59 on way. That is the best price I have ever seen   . For Christmas holiday depending on your exact dates I would say anything under 225 is a good deal and jump on it fast.
Having said that I would be careful about USAIR that far out.We spend ever Christmas in Florida and I have gotten very good about using all the area airports. You may want to see what Tampa has in way of cheaper fares.
We are coming back from FLL to JFK and got a 69 fares on 1/2/06. At this price
I had to jump in fast. :cool1:

I also have booked my airfare for Orlando for next Xmas. I just paid $189 per ticket (total $235) per ticket.

We're flying Delta. The time works for me; we're flying via Atlanta, which makes the flight about as short as you can do (coming from CA). I also wanted to have assigned seats. We usually fly SWA, but I just didn't want to deal with getting seats during Xmas (I didn't want the stress!)
